1991 theme hands down. As a kid of the 90s, whether it was Dan, Tom, or Peter, when the clock struck 5:30pm in our house, it was time to sit down, shut up, and get informed of world events when music like this started. Good times, good times....
2011-16 theme was when I was in Dad’s bedroom, watching the news and especially “On the Road.” It was a very heartwarming tune, especially after the ending story (which was usually heartwarming or emotional.)
We place our burdens down in the twilight, and ask the world to be still, whilst we sleep... alas, the world keeps going, waiting for it's respite, and we wake, once again, to champion the cause, and seize the day. May we be the heroes of stories yet unwritten.

I'm forever a fan of the 1991 theme, but it is striking how many times CBS has brought the 1987 theme back.
