@@ItsMikeylol I think he's cute and he has that idealist mindset :3 You gotta keep in mind he had a completely different childhood than most of us with his whole Jehovahs Witness thing.
I've been getting really into camping and outdoorsy type stuff for a little while now, and I even bought my first canoe a couple weeks ago. Reviews like this are something I'd totally watch more of in the future!
Absolutely love mine. FYI, you have the green whistle stopper, so you can leave it in and it will whistle when boiling. If you have the older orange stopper or the even older cork stopper, then you must keep the stopper out, as you have done.
Hey Barry. I hope to see you cover more camping stuff. I would like to recommend a snow peak stove for a fuel-based stove for the times that you don't have anything to burn. It is super small and reliable.
With a couple of cheap custom pieces to vent the stove outside and theoretically you should easily be able to turn these into an item that could be used inside of a winter tent.
Scout leader/frequent camper here, I absolutely love these things. I don't own one yet, the world being what it is right now camps aren't really a thing and there's more important things to be spending money on, but we got to use one on a training camp and it's incredible. Definitely on my "things to buy when the world unfucks itself" list. From a frequent camper perspective, there's not really much to say that wasn't said in the video, but I can add the scout leader perspective that this is great for teaching some of the younger ones about lighting fires, because it's relatively easy to get lit and if you're using it to boil water being used in the hot chocolates, it gives the kids that added little bonus feeling of having been helpful to counteract the feeling that this hot chocolate could really do with some milk...
@@Lianpe98 Yeah I know I hardly doubt anyone willfully uploads their videos in 360p. However, you have to admit it really fits into this whole van lifestyle like he has to maintain storage for the whole trip.
This is def something I'd be interested in! I can see myself cooking some food with the boys while camping or just be able to cook some food while staying outdoors and not use a modern stove.
I love mine, I use it a lot, for me the fastest way is one piece of paper top to bottom with the kettle on, then the thin sticks. hole toward the wind and light it up. takes no time. I used to try and get the fire going 1st then put the op on but that doesn't work nearly as good. anyways when the water is boiled, I pour it in the percolater and put that hobo stove bit on and get the coffee brewing. it's really fast.
I like how you picked the area to demonstrate that wasn't grass, but their was a lot of dry grass around it, so make sure to be careful of that. a tiny accident to lead to an unstoppable forest fire. maybe carry a fire extinguisher with you when you use it. or just keep it away from dry grass, wetting the grass around it without wetting it or your fuel should help.
Thats pretty cool. I have something kinda like this, a solo stove, except my solo stove is 2 feet across and a foot and a half tall so probably not the best model for van life.
The Kelly kettle is an item everyone that lives in an earthquake zone, hurricane 🌀 zone, or tornado 🌪 zone should have in their emergency supplies. A Sawyer water filter would be an excellent companion also.
I'm pretty sure that's what it's for! It's not the most lightweight option but it comes with so much you can't be upset! Plus you can carry just the parts you need if you egt the full kit!
Hey Barry.... glad you liked the kettle and kit! Something wonderful about the smell and sound of a wood/stick fire 🔥 You should try it out on a windy day ... it’s seriously quick and the Kettle will burn ANYTHING! 😝 If anyone has any questions at all, please shoot us a mail via the contact us pages on our sites www.kellykettleusa.com or if in Europe, visit www.kellykettle.com Thanks folks 🤙
As someone that believes that the world is changing for the worst I thought I would start preparing for off grid living lifestyle. I bought the Kelly Kettle set up and I would say everyone should own one.
Strangest video title I have seen this week. I awkwardly laughed in confusion. Also you look like a hippie with that awesome stache. It's a hilariously good look.
Barry, I just wanna say, if you really want to go across country like you're preparing to do, I recommend buying a simple rifle. Maybe a good bolt action in a typical caliber, or a .30-30 lever action rifle. They're legal everywhere, ammo is available, normally, and reasonably short and usable as a defensive tool if need be

Barry's becoming a hippie

Also Barry, thanks for the reviews, I'll never buy the stuff but I love getting your opinions on things
barry could make a review on water and make it intresting 😂😂
Nice suggestion😂 but Mikasacus already did a review on water.
