Do you have to remove the wheel first or can you get around that?

You might be able to get around that but it will probably be a bit more difficult

I got a new alt so i'll just take the alternator off and add the new one i can add the belts that way right? without going through the wheel arch etc right? i'm following your video now the one where you remove the alt. @@screwsnutsandbolts
