WTSP is a broadcast television station licensed to St. Petersburg, Florida. The station signed on the air on July 18th, 1965, under the call letters WLCY-TV before changing to its current callsign in 1978. The station was independent for two months until becoming the area ABC affiliate in 1978. WTVT 13, the area CBS affiliate, switched its affiliation to FOX in 1994, with WTSP following suit and switching to CBS that same year. WTSP featured many firsts in Central Florida television: the first station to utilize a camera-equipped helicopter ("Sky 10") for bird's-eye-view reporting, the first station to use an audiovisual transceiver vehicle ("Star 10") for live electronic news gathering, the area's first doppler weather radar ("StormSeeker"), and one of the first stations nationwide to use a computer with weather forecasting, called "WeatherWatcher."
Dave Wagner has since returned to WTSP as the anchor of "10 Tampa Bay This Evening" and "Nightside." Sue Zelenko retired from broadcasting in 2004 but is still in the Tampa Bay area as of July 2023: / cum43ajorsv
