    ♫♫ This song has a powerful meaning behind it and fit this point in time as well. On December 14, 2012 a tragedy shook our nation as a gunman raided an elementary school in CT and killed 20 children and 7 adults. Why would someone do this you ask? We may never know, but God is in control and He knows all things. Our hearts and prayers go out to these familes for their lost. Please share this video that it may touch their hearts and bring you comfort....thank you ♫♫
    Thanks for watching and see you all in the next one!

    Everyone saying his range is fake your wrong. I'm part of a mixed vocal choir and there are two men in my choir that have a bigger vocal range than I do and I am a serprano. They are wider because they can sing base and it is beautiful. Its not fake its talent you guys. Haters will see someone walk on water and say its because they can't swim. Quit being haters. This guy is talented.

      let's be honest here it's a great version of the song but he's not actually dropping the low note like that I've watched him sing with Max Q he can hit low notes but he's not dropping the bomb on these notes like that I don't care what anyone says.

      As a classically trained singer, do not disrespect the art of being able to do good mixing. What is a travesty is when we see masterful mixing and producing and that person receives no credit. What is also a travesty is when the mixing supercedes the musicality of the song in an inappropriate context. This is a good example of that.

    I'd never heard this song up until a few days ago and was so moved to listened to many versions and to research its author. In the words, I hear what might be spoken by any child, in any land, of any faith that is subject to the reasons this song was written. My first thought was of a Palestinian child...
    As a Christian, I know Jesus doesn't discriminate cries for help---not by anyone and especially not by any child.

    For everyone saying that this is fake, please watch the third slide as he sings. He shows you his bass drop in his expressions. As a soprano in choir I can tell exactly which slide is hitting what note. It's not fake, get your act straight and maybe listen to the song and hear the meaning before you judge. Amen

      As a bass, there ain't no way in hell a person can hit that note with that amount of clarity and lightness it's simply not possible. I'm not saying it's not possible to have an expansive range, but the quality of the sound is not realistic.

    • @sarro6788
      @sarro6788 5 років тому +1

      @@lionsmaine1238 lmao same, I'm a bass and people can hit that note but you can hear the roboty sound in the voice lmao, plus I've sang this song I know what its supposed to sound like, but shes a soprano so she knows the bass voice.

    Oh god... I sang this song in high school and my teacher recommended this video to help us understand what the four part harmony was supposes to sound like. I saved it to my watch later, and YEARS later, I found it again. Both the message behind the song, the message the singer wanted to convey, and the nostalgia... I DIDN'T NEED TO CRY TODAY, I PROMISE.

    Sang this in SC All State Choir in 2005 as a Bass 2, but three years prior I sang the Tenor 1 before my voice changed. This is my favorite song to sing as a Bass 2 as I really get to show off my low range.
    I scored a 231 out of 235 that year in All State auditions which was good for #1 in the entire state and #1 in Bass. Second place was a girl who sang Soprano 1 from my Honors Chorale at Seneca High School under Mrs. Reichenbach.
    I am going to join a local choir I haven't sang in a choir since I was a senior in high school in 2006. I'm going to sing this song.

    Apparently a bunch of people that watched this video has never heard of vibrato... it's not computerized or auto tuned at all. The richness in all ranges of his voice provide the vibrating and buzz you hear. If you are into the music industry or you know anything about singing, then just listen to each part. Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, and Bass 2. They all sound completely normal, but them being put together is what makes that rich and vibrating sound, that's why it's called a quartet, for four different parts. So quit saying that he faked it or put tunes in. Even if it's not his voice, it's still someone else's, and that doesn't make it computerized.

    • @SJEagle
      @SJEagle 8 років тому +14

      I know what vibrato is. I use mine a lot in my symphonic choir. But, I also know when I hear Optimus Prime shit a low note.

    Gentleman. Allow me to inform you. This song was actually written For the serbian war that took place some years ago. The composer was a small ensemble director at the time, but in his experiences he noticed the horror and sadness of the children. Having seen some of them shot and even burned. This song is a tribute to those children of the Serbian war. Where the Connecticut is more than fitting for this arrangement. What lies behind is something all its own.

    Anyone who complains about the "auto tune" sound of this rendition seriously needs to hear the original track. It's pretty accurate to the original. This song sounded auto-tune-ish before auto tune was even a "thing". That doesn't take away from the powerful message. I have always loved this song. It's very impressive in person.

    My name is Martin Smallwood. In 2005 I was the highest scoring singer auditioning for SC All State SSAATTBB choir. Not only was I the number 1 bass in the state, I was the number one singer out of all who auditioned in the state of SC. That was the most proud day of my life. I scored 233 out of 235 possible points, the next closest student to my score was Soprano 1 Samantha Hall, she had 227 out of 235 points. I do not know if my score was the highest ever for a SC All State Choir auditioner, but in my 4 years of High School I never saw anyone score over 230 points until I did. If you don't believe me, call or email Diane McFarland at Seneca High School in Seneca, SC.
    I sang the Tenor 1 and Bass 2 parts of this song and I have just as wide of a vocal range as Rhett. Again, ask Diane McFarland if you do not believe me.
    What I'm getting at, is it is very possible to have a range this wide. Is it commonplace? By all means no, but it's possible...

    • @lionsmaine1238
      @lionsmaine1238 7 років тому

      That doesn't change the fact that the bass in this song sounds fake as hell, and having an extensive range yourself you should know that having this amount of clarity at such a low part of your range is simply not possible.

    I sang this song in 1996 in the AZ all-state choir under the direction of Dr. Weston Noble my sophomore year in high school. It was on copies of the original hand-written sheet music written by Kurt Bestor. This was before Warner Brothers bought the rights to it. It was originally written as a tribute to the bombing of the children's hospital in Bosnia. It was the most amazing experience in my life, and inspired me to become a high school choir teacher. Rhett, you have done an amazing job recording this piece, as well as all your others! On a side note, what software do you use to make these videos, because I would like to do this kind of thing as well. -Tony (the Leading Tone)

    I know this is gonna be random af, but for some reason, this reminds of "Tubthumper" by Chumbawamba. Idk i can just see this becoming a dance/rock song

    Not to knock you,but I really would love a natural recording of it... I did a recording which was my very first multitrack I attempted.. Wouldn't mind learning the other parts better and re-recording at some point... Props for attempting an amazing piece, though!
