Girl, when this popped on my feed this got me emotional because i started dancing at 1Million in September 2019 when I took a class purely for fun on my holiday. Little did I know that it would lead me to come back home to Sydney and pursue dancing a little seriously to the point that next month I am going to be in my first dance showcase. I will say, 1Million changed my life. I truly believe their teaching standard is beyond anything I have found. I took one class and Shawn picked me to be filmed with him that same day. I couldn't speak a drop of Korean but Shawn explained every move with such detail in Korean with movements and gestures that I could follow along just fine. I really hold onto my experience at 1Million as the standard and came back to Australia to be sadly disappointed that I wasn't growing at the pace that I did when I was in Korea. It depressed me for a while, but it made me determined to keep at my growth, even though I didnt bloom as much as I did there. I am looking forward to COVID lifting it's ban because I want to go back and grow more. Also, you're so fortunate to train with Enoh before be quit dancing. I truly regret missing that opportunity.

I recommend to research about companies and trainee and idol life from good sources, there is a lot of youtube channels with people who were trainee and idols.
I'm going to keep track of the days I dance by leaving a comment here every day. It is so hard to practice on my own since all my group dance practice got cancelled. Now I need to hold myself accountable. Oct. 14. 2020 I'm going to practice after my last class that ends at 5:30 pm. I'm going to do some groove training and learn a choreo.------So I ended up not learning a choreo and did a dance workout ish thing instead. That was some progress tho. I felt I had a lot more energy after taking the class. Oct. 15. 2020 I did another body groove session and I felt pretty good about it. My rm probably hated me bec she was still sleeping while I was practicing. Anyway good work keep it up! Oct. 16. 2020 I cyphered with friends from my dance club today! It was really fun seeing everyone and dancing with them! Oct. 17. 2020 I went to my first Sat Cypher of the semester. It didn't go as well as I expected but at least I went that was some progress. Keep it up! I'm going to practice a choreo with my friends tmr. Oct. 18. 2020 I practiced two choreos with my friends today it was a lot of fun!! Might practice some grooves later in the day if I have the time Oct. 19. 2020 I did a little grooving session today. I was listening to music while taking a walk and my body just starting grooving naturally. It felt so nice to just do whatever I want with the music I like. Oct. 20. 2020 I learned half of a choreo today. It's a beginner piece and I really liked the grooves and moves. I'll prob finish up the other half tmr and practice it until next Sat to film and upload it on Instagram.

I’m 16 and a self taught dancer, this video actually popped up after watching a 1million dance video and I’m so GLAD it did 😪 I use STEEZY studios to learn and this video was the motivation boost I needed ❤️ although i can pick up the advance choreography I have confidence issues which makes my dancing doesn’t look as clean 😫

You replied to a comment saying that in the first period of your journey you trained for 2-3 hours a day... What did you do? It may seem stupid but I'm curious about how to organise dance practises. Also were you learning the whole dance or just some parts? Do you think dancing to kpop is useful to improve your dancing skills overall or is it better to just learn dance choreographies?

I’ve taken her class before and she is a sweetheart! She was my favourite choreographer for a long time too and my heart melted when i got to be in her class. She’s a little intimidating, but once she sees her students dancing she starts smiling and relaxed a lot more. Truly a beautiful person 💗
I used to take Indian classical dance classes and I was pretty good but was very limited in my skillset..... the style I trained in is called Bharatnatyam and it demands stamina, sharp movements and a decent amount of flexibility and graceful erect postures. When it comes to street dancing or hip hop influenced styles, I'm literally the worst. I have a good sense of rhythm but I suck at everything else. Literally. Your 'before' dance clips are what I aspire to get to atleast in the next few months. Obviously this video is nothing less than inspiring. The progress is jaw dropping. You went from casual dancing to literally skating every single song and I'm super duper thoroughly impressed! Please never delete this video. I come back here very often for a dose of inspiration!💜🥺

You were so good before you even started at 1Million!! How did you learn to improve on your own like that before you moved to Korea? I just started dancing five months ago and struggle a lot with isolations and controlling my movements, and feel like the classes I'm going to aren't helping me improve in those areas quickly enough :'(
