I played them all a lot. Best comparison between the 2 are, Anomaly is hard, has objective and in time you can overcome its difficulty and beat the game. Dead Air is very atmospheric and unforgiving its brutally hard, but it has no objective, you are basically left for dead it is just question of time, will you willingly quit the game or will the game kill you, kill all npcs and zone itself and make you quit the game.

Проблема таких модов - устаревшая "квестовая база", когда Сидорович отправляет персонажа с Кордона на ЧАЭС убивать монолитовца. Или в десятый раз искать тайник Фаната в Деревне Новичков - вгоняет в тоску.
Нет каких-то глобальных квестовых линий, которые было бы действительно интересно проходить.
И мод не может являться хардкорным, если в моде можно "исправлять" папку actor, сделав главгероя бессмертным.
Достоинства этих модификаций - саундтрек и графические настройки.
The problem with such mods is the outdated "quest base", when Sidorovich sends a character from Cordon to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant to kill a monolith. Or looking for a Fan's cache in the Novice Village for the tenth time - it drives you into depression.
There are no global quest lines that would be really interesting to go through.
And the mod cannot be hardcore if in the mod it is possible to "fix" the actor folder, making the glav hero immortal.
The advantages of these modifications are the soundtrack and graphical settings.
I completely agree with your quest point man, however i liked the Anomaly questlines, at least they give a simple target to move towards. And i didn't really understand the thing about actor, do you maybe mean like hitbox of the player character and things like that? а также спасибо за ваш комментарий!
@@EasternConor Actor is a config - file. Character change, simply put. Immortality, high jump, carried weight. Cool stuff for fun or speedrun. Most often it is located along this path: "gamedata - config - creatures - actor". Well, or you can just search the file name on your computer via search
Most mods have this config.
I noticed that most foreign mods have a complete set of files, including this config. Exceptions - some Russian modifications (NLC 7, OP-2.)
As they say in Russia - to each his own. But there are people who find it unimpressive what surprises and pleases you. That's normal, unfortunately.

Im playing stalker shadow of chernobyl for the first time i never felt this way about an fps game its more than that im so addicted not even half way true but i need more i will keep coming back this to me the best fps of all time

Knives don't suck, the zone feels dead and alive at the same time, feels like someone is watching you in the distance all the time, has inflation and in the endgame all traders die, you have to hide your loot and plan every step.

I was always curious about Dead Air but have been making my way through Anomaly. I'm glad to know they're definitely 2 different experiences and I will definitely be downloading Dead Air shortly.
Hey dude, i love Dead Air but it can be somewhat too hard, you might find some usefull tweaks on the add on section on mod.db! Have fun!
Dead Air looks better and has a better atmosphere for me, but it crashes sometimes and there are some decisions that I don't like (for example the total removal of freedom faction)
Anomaly is more stable (so far I didn't have a single crash) and if you don't like something, you can customize it easily.
I just wish they could put the Dead Air visuals into Anomaly. Yes, you can download various graphics addons, but I still can't manage to make it look as good as Dead Air.

Awesome video man. Not enough people give ALL the mods love. I have played all the ones you mentioned, and Anomaly is still my favorite to this day. In fact, when I have friends who ask what Stalker is like, or are interested in playing Stalker, I usually just point straight to Anomaly, as it is the best indication of what Stalker is REALLY all about in my opinion. It just has the best content and gameplay out of any of the mods or standalone games in one package in my opinion. Anomaly really deserves to be something of it's own mainline entry in the series, or DLC or something. It is a phenomenally good mod. I only hope Stalker 2 has the sort of open ended gameplay loops Anomaly has, as you can really breath and explore in Anomaly over most the main entries. You earned a sub bro!
I usually point them to Shadow of Chernobyl because i think the story of Marked One is an important thing to go through, even though the game does not capture the open ended "place" the zone is in Anomaly, but yeah after someone says that they are still interested in the series, i point them towards Anomaly too. dead air looks beautiful but i got so pissed a couple months ago i deleted it an hour into my play through 😂

I made a modpack for dead air removing fake difficulty adding more ammo to the traders, stable aim, better radiation removal, chimeras no longer take 300 rds of 7.62x39 and finaly i added my mod "real life ballistic values".
Dead air also has in built bleeding which makes it unique.

@@Grapegaming777 Tazair 1.0 it includes english translation also, after installing tazair 1.0 install tazair real life ballistics it is a patch and an upgraded real life values for ammo in grains and for weapons in velocity, if you see vss damage bar smaller that means only velocity, the bullets for it are like bricks.

I have started playing Anomaly again and his writing is everywhere, it is a very different experience now. rest in peace.
This is a fantastic video, I didnt like Anomaly because I dont enjoy how there is just stuff /everywhere./ It's like a constant warzone across the entire zone. I don't find pure numbers to be real difficulty.
You got me to want and try Dead Air, it feels better for what I'm looking for.

Lately i have been feeling very similar about anomaly's gameplay loop aswell and Dead Air is a really good alternative to that. I don't know how i have missed mentioning Jakey man thank you hahahaha it is fixed now

hi, i want to play call of pripyat again but with better graphics and tons of weapons, new missions or maps are welcome. Which mods you would recommend? As i understand it, anomaly does not let you play the original storyline, so i would like to do that again before getting into anomaly.
Yes exactly, anomaly is pretty much call of chernobyl (a cop mod) but with its own story and a crazy sandbox, maybe checkout cop mods over at www.moddb.com/games/stalker-call-of-pripyat/mods you might find some that suits you
what i always hated about these mods is the emptiness of the zone. these games are incredible experiences, i've beaten both anomaly and call of chernobyl, spent a decent amount of time in og misery, but the gameplay always fell flat when i was supposed to travel from one part of the map to another and the whole experience of such an excursion was just sprinting in a straight line not even bothered by packs of mutants. when you're in combat, clinging to life with a faulty shotgun in a dark corridor with a couple of bandits ahead of you awaiting your mistake is why this game kept me sitting by my computer for 4-6 hours a day, but the vast emptiness of some of the locations is really painful from a gameplay standpoint. also i've always hated myself for spamming quicksave button and basically turning myself into an unstoppable force that'll push through every encounter spamming f5 after every kill i get. i know there were attempts at stopping savespamming by saving at camps, but i've always felt that it'll be too much of a struggle
My man i whole heartedly agree with you on this, after like 300 hours in the zone the biggest thing that stops me from keep playing is how boring it is to travel the zone and how cheesy it feels to save spam in combat. However on my current character im doing a loner in the northern part of the zone with campfire mode and its quite refreshing, you might give that a go
@@EasternConor after some time i decided to modify the ai spawn multiplier well beyond the amount that is given in the game menu, but that did not really help the experience and just turned some locations into a complete warzone with nothing attached to the ground while still leaving other places completely abandoned. I may try out the campfire mode, on paper it sounds like a real bother taken straight from absurdly difficult misery, but maybe during gameplay i'll be able to make the change and actually find it worthwile
also i dont know if im doing something wrong, but everytime i start anomaly i am forced to do te first storyline. I've beaten it thinking that i'll unlock the next one and do it with a new character, but it turns out that you have to beat the first storyline and then unlock the next one everytime, which left me too OP for a whole new storyline taking me throught the zone, because there was no force stopping my guy walking around with the best guns and fully modified exoskeleton. its a real shame, because knowing that storylines arent the main focus of anomaly, i still find them enjoyable

If you have time try stalker misery, i made a huge mod for it that gives the game real life energy value for bullets and barrel lenghts.
Taz rlballistics, it feels like playing dayz.

@@EasternConorHello, glad you are asking, have one for stalker misery called "taz rlballistics" and the other is "tazair 1.0" (modpack for dead air + ballistics patch).
Worked nearly 8 months on it of which i tested 3, searched every corner on wikipedia and bbti for different barrel lenght velocities for every gun in taz (250) and edited velocity, ammo weight in grains and energy in joules (the higher the energy the greater the critical and recoil of the gun).
Even edited the weapon weight and muzzle brakes/vertical grips to alter recoil.
9x39 has low velocity but hits like a sledge if you see the damage bar on vss low that is only the velocity, pab9 weights 248 grais while typical 5.56 travels at 870-900-930 m/s depending on barrel but weights only 62 grains, 12 gauge slug is 437 grains 😶.
Ammo type matters too hollowpoints are good but softpoints (used for hunting irl are devastating) especially 7.62x39 softpoint ammo.
@@EasternConor Glad you asked mate, it is "taz rlballistics" on moddb for stalker misery but you need to install taz 2 beta (the armed zone 2 beta) for misery then my config.
The config includes barrel velocity damage and bullet weight and energy damage, said edits also alter the recoil the more energy a cartridge has the bigger the recoil and criticals based on joules, contrary muzzle brakes, vertical grips (military weapons and shotguns feel good and durable with lower recoil/civilian handguns and shotguns feel more accurate but less durable), weapon handling and weapon weight alter recoil too (reducing it) so with m4s you would feel slight recoil but shooting 10mm auto glock has a good kick same with .500 sw, taz has calibers ranging from .25 acp to 14mm, it is not perfect but it will be unique experience, also the game had huge bug (all stalker mods and games have) bullets past 400 meters won't go further, even rpg rockets and .338 lapua fall like badminton balla hitting invisible wall, i fixed that now you can make long range lucky snipes with cheap 7.62x39 or match 5.56.
I have one for dead air too makes the recoil like tarkov but it is a modpack called "tazair 1.0" if you download tazair 1.0 don't forget the ballistics patch.
Have fun shooting bandits with .30 carbine, .25 acp up to 14mm ptrd and .50 bmg.
