No they aren't. The fact you can't see wounds doesn't mean they aren't damaging him. Carnivorans have loose skin, meaning that it's pretty hard to damage with claws since it isn't tightly attacked to any muscles.

It was reported that the lioness (Suri or Shuri) was dominant towards this male lion through their whole "relationship". Lion was the father or her cubs also. But this lioness indeed killed this lion at the end of this attack. Lions even lick their prey often, that isnt any kind of "act of kindness".
I think the zoo is Tama where this encounter happened. Zookeepers didnt intervene, they let nature do its thing. It happened before zoo was opened for visitors. And again, yes, lion died.

Ive seen something like this happen before, a Lion took on a old leader of a pride and won (pride leader died) the lion did the standard "Kill all old leaders kids ,chase off teens" but this particular lion went overboard and tried to kill not only the kids, but any moms trying to defend them, this ended up being his biggest mistake as he tried to kill the matriarcs then 8 week cubs, the matriarc who was larger than your average female lion, she started to fight back and the rest of the pride which was 9 adult females joined in, the martiarc was able to pin his head down with presumably her eldest daughter and the rest went to town on his stomach.
Goes to show when the real hunters of the pride join together the king doesn’t stand a chance! I just don’t know why they don’t do this in the wild when a new male tries to overthrow their king or actual does n goes after all the cubs to kill them bc idfc how big a male lion is he can not beat a sisterhood protecting their pride n young cubs or after they’re pissed off from him killing them! 1 or 2 might get a serious injury but that can happen during a daily hunt too so if you’re gonna risk it for food then why not risk it to save your family ?! It was reported that the lioness (Suri or Shuri) was dominant towards this male lion through their whole "relationship". Lion was the father or her cubs also.
But this lioness indeed killed this lion at the end of this attack. Lions even lick their prey often, that isnt any kind of "act of kindness".
I think the zoo is Tama where this encounter happened. Zookeepers didnt intervene, they let nature do its thing. It happened before zoo was opened for visitors.
And again, yes, lion died.

Ive seen something like this happen before, a Lion took on a old leader of a pride and won (pride leader died) the lion did the standard "Kill all old leaders kids ,chase off teens" but this particular lion went overboard and tried to kill not only the kids, but any moms trying to defend them, this ended up being his biggest mistake as he tried to kill the matriarcs then 8 week cubs, the matriarc who was larger than your average female lion, she started to fight back and the rest of the pride which was 9 adult females joined in, the martiarc was able to pin his head down with presumably her eldest daughter and the rest went to town on his stomach.
