As promised, heer is Rumi's poem on this topic: In the play of life, we are all actors, each with a part to perform, a role given by the Divine playwright. From the moment we step onto the stage, we take on our characters, with scripts written by the hands of fate. The world is a grand performance, and we are the players, wearing masks and costumes, each portraying our unique roles. Behind every action and word, there is a deeper truth, hidden from the eyes of the audience, known only to the creator. Our lives are scenes in a play, each act leading to the next, until the final curtain falls, revealing the true nature of the show. As we dance and sing upon the stage, we forget the audience is the same as us, and that the play itself is a reflection of the divine's own nature. When we shed our masks and see beyond, we realize we are all actors in the same drama, and the stage is but a reflection of the consciousness that creates and sustains us. So play your part with grace and joy, knowing that in the end, we are all united in the embrace of the eternal playwright's love. And when the final act is over, and the stage is empty, you will understand the truth: we are all but one soul, performing in the grand theater of existence
This gives me great comfort in my current role of caregiver for my father with stage 4 dementia. I thought to myself "why am I experiencing this incredible stress?", but then realize I actually chose this and the Divinity is helping me help him. Thank you for your timely lesson.
