I'm not a mom and not planning to get pregnant in the very near future, but I absolutely LOVE your Baby Name Monday videos. My fiance and I are agreed upon a boys name already, but we (friendly) argue about the girl's name. I love the baby name bickering between us because it will give us a lot of excitement if/when we do finally have a girl. I get tons of inspiration/ammunition from your videos for our ongoing baby name battle and he just wonders "Where do you come up with this?" Haha! You're my secret weapon. Keep doing what you're doing. It brings so much joy to my life.
@@SJ_Strum Yes! It definitely is. Especially because my fiance wants to name our son after an anime character. Perhaps that would be a good idea for a list? Baby names inspired by popular anime characters. He actually won me over on a very unusual (and completely made up) boy name.

Happy New Year SJ!! Mariposa is getting a little brother...and a little sister in 2019 - we're having twins! Their names will be Emmett & Emmeline. Emmeline has been my favorite girl's name since I was 11, and Emmett was my grandfather's name. I don't always match-y names for twins but these two are what we would name each one separately, so we think it's meant to be!
My name is Dava and my sisters name is Vada. I absolutely love our names so much!!! Funny story about my sister's name though, when i was younger i used to spell my name wrong, and i swapped the D and the V which ended up spelling the name "vada" instead of my actual name. When my mom read the name, she remembered hearing the name Veda from an old movie called My girl, and so the name stuck! i love your videos, and all the rare and unique name ideas you provide, so i just thought i'd add to the list, since out names are so unique as well :) :) :)
Im absolutely obsessed with Winnie as well, and when i found the lovely comment about the name Winika, i was immediately in love! What an amazing name for a winter baby girl. Winter could also be a name for Winnie!
I love it too!! Me and Henrik chatted about it when we were pregnant with Freddie but he uses V instead of W in Swedish so kept sounding like Vinnie!!! x
I am a teacher and have taught a girl called Ariella, and I also taught her older sister Elysia. Both names are very pretty and it is amazing how quickly names move from sounding unusual upon first hearing them to sounding completely normal with regular use. By the same token, my niece is Anassa and my nephew is Redfern and I love both their names. Anassa in particular gets plenty of compliments as it sounds so similar to Vanessa, and I love that it means Queen in Ancient Greek. Thank you, SJ, for all the baby name videos you do. I’m not yet a mum but you are giving me plenty of options if I am ever blessed in that way!
Current fav names : Girl : Vemi (from November), Aster (flower ofc), Wanda (inspired by swan), Hawwa (Indonesian version of Eve), Flora Boy : Kahfy (means a winning son) Mika (means braveheart) Dewa (means gods, superpower) Arka (means sun)
I like Story as a middle name. I really like a lot of those names, like Lyric and Poem for a girl, Poet or Fable for a boy. I wouldn't use them myslef, but you could make a really cute sibset with those sort of names as middle names
I’m 17, single, and definitely not planning on having children anytime soon... BUT I just wanted to say that I literally LOVE your channel and all your baby name videos. I’ve always been so obsessed with names so I’m so glad I came across your channel!
Two top contenders for when I have children: Eír Aislyn and Loki Ciarán (since I’m half Irish and have and Irish name). I love the girl name Eír (pronounced Ær) as she is the Norse goddess of help and mercy with the middle name Aislyn (an Irish name meaning Dream or vision) and the boy name Loki (Norse ‘god’ of mischief and trickery) with the middle name Ciarán (an Irish/ Gaelic name meaning little dark one)
we are irish too and almost had a kieran (little dark one) since my husband's hair is jet black and we had little dark haired babies. i love the name. adore irish names in general.
I found your channel when I first starting ttc mid 2018, I was so chill about the thought of naming another human until I actually got pregnant! It’s such a hard decision to make because that lil person will have the name I gave them for the rest of their life and that just freaks me out. Although I have fun tossing up between names but can’t imagine what I’ll end up settling on. I love getting new names in my subscription box every week, you’ve given me so many names to think about that I would never have thought of in the first place. I’m looking forward to seeing what we’ll end up picking as much as everyone else is lol xx
Ahhhh I know what you mean! I thought I had a million names I loved but suddenly went off them all - ha ha! It's a very hard time to make such a big decision xxxxx
Hi SJ, I would love to hear your impressions of the names Annika, Genevieve, and Anneliese. I am expecting a girl and I don’t know if I’m 100% about any of these. I’m interested to know how they sound in an English accent and looking for middle name options. Thank you!
I am yet to see my name on anywhere here, Raluca. It means Ray of Sun, after RA the Egyptian sun god, and Luca which is Latin for a ray of light. It is a fairly popular Romanian girls' name. My partner and I hope to find more unique baby names for our kids when we have them.
Happy New Year! My name is Clarissa Rose and I have always recieved compliments about my name. I love unique names with interesting spelling combinations, but my fiance does not. I have compiled my own list of boys and girls names and would like to hear your feedback. I am Canadian, by the way, so most of these names are not very popular where I live. Boys- Tristan Maddox Ryerson Davey Oliver Rylan Ryder Hayden Kierce Easton Jaxon Emerson Hunter Jayce Girls- Madigan Scarlett Lincoln Addilyn Adley Aria Braelynn Brea Laken Aspen Leighton Aislyn Aaralyn Karsyn Emalyne
So amazing to watch your channel grow 4 fold since I started watching, well deserved! You’re so lovely and passionate, I hope more of the world gets to know you like we have soon!
HAPPY 2019, SJ! I wish nothing but the best to you and your family :) Thank you for all the baby names Monday! I’m glad to have discovered your Chanel and finding out that I’m not the only one that really enjoy names. Hahaha I’ve come across lot of names I didn’t know, names I loved, names I wanted to know more about...More success to your Chanel in 2019! ❤️🇧🇷
My favourite names right now are Amy Octavia and Blake Thomas. I also like Rory for a boy and Willow for a girl but probably wouldn’t use those. Bridget Hadley is a great combo too. Oh and I love Maeve Boy names are harder to me
Did you know that a character in the tv show the 100 is named Octavia Blake. But yes I agree Octavia is such a beautiful name. I pretty sure (not 100% sure) but I think it means 8th born
Hannah Braden No, I didn’t know that! Thanks for the info:) we’ve actually recently taken Blake Thomas off the list for a different reason and replaced it with Royce Thomas. I still absolutely love Amy Octavia 😍 Octavia would def be in the middle spot though.
I don't usually comment, but I discovered your channel in 2018 when I fell pregnant with my second baby. We are due in Feb 2019 and team yellow so I have loved watching all your baby naming videos for inspiration. Thank you for all the great ideas, you may have helped name this little one...if I can get the suggestions past the husband 😂😂
I’m so glad I’ve found you! I’ll be watching every week and watching the previous videos now 😍 I’m 7 weeks pregnant with hopefully our rainbow baby (stick baby stick! 🤞🏻) We really struggled naming our daughter as NOTHING goes with our surname (Beard 🧔 🙄) Naming babies is so hard!!
Harbour was on my short list for my little one, he was born in summer 2017 and I absolutely love it! It didn’t make the cut in the end but it’s still my back up if I have another.
Hi baby name enthusiasts! I adore the name Stellette (meaning star) but my only problem is that it’s a type of pasta! Does this completely put you off or can it be overlooked? Otherwise I’d use Estelle or Stella
These are names that I love, I’m not pregnant and not planning on to be for a very long time For boys I chosen; William Rufus Alexander Theodore Then for girls; Charlotte Isabella Saffron Alessia I probably will use these names when I’m a bit older, also happy new year 💗
My name is Harper, and my mom got it from her favorite book ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ and I recently started talking to another Harper on Pinterest! It’s crazy because I’ve only ever heard of celebs naming their kids Harper, but I’ve never met anybody else, that aren’t celebs, named Harper! I love my name!
I just adore your baby name monday videos SJ! I'm baby name mad also, we have three children and their names are Oscar, Seth & Matilda. Can't wait to see more videos in 2019 😊
Your videos have been super helpful, since my husband and I are starting to discuss baby names for our future children. So far, we've decided we like Camilla (with the nickname Millie) for a girl, and Finn for a boy; and we really like Theodore OR Theodora with the nicknames Theo and Teddy, for either a boy or a girl! Interestingly enough, we'll likely be using Anais as a middle name, since it's a family name. But who knows! This could all change once we actually fall pregnant or I find more names I like from your videos!
Love your videos 😍 in Denmark the names from two generations ago are really modern. Like Olga, Elin, Agnes, Ingrid, Svend, Viggo, Vilhelm or Arthur. My two year old is called Otto. We call him Ottoman or Risotto 😝
I’ve loved these videos over the past year, and getting to know the community!! SJ you are amazing and thank you so much for all the creative and beautiful names! 🥰💙 ~ Rocky
Ive watched a few of ur videos and ive not heard any of my girls names would love to hear ur opinions on them please they are ... 1st: Melody Naomi Lola 2nd Kia Natasha Charli 3rd Sophie Ann Thanks :-) xx
Does anyone have a good nickname for Poppy? I love the name but I’m unsure if there are any nicknames. I have heard of ‘Pops’ (which I don’t like) and Pip (bit it sounds like a nickname for Pippa or Piper. Also Channon Rose’s daughters name is snow and Emilee Hembrow’s daughters name is Aaliyah Snow.
Loved this final ultimate baby name list to round off 2018! Happy New Year to you and your lovely family SJ...I look forward to many more baby name videos. Not having anymore babies personally but I think they’re so interesting to watch 😊 xx
I just found your Chanel and I love it! My name is Anaís but I’ve never heard people pronounced it wrong as I live in a spanish speaking country it’s easier for them I guess.
The most truly unusual baby names I’ve heard of is from a vlogger called Taina who’s a mum of ten, names such as Jerusalem and Aphrodite, they’re all quite unique and interesting names! xo
My name is Lexi and I find it can be a bit uncommon.. but I love the name Cadence which means “a sequence of notes or chords comprising the close of a musical phrase” with the nick name Cade (Kay-d)... also I met a Sapphire yesterday and thought it was such a pretty name. Love your channel can’t wait to see what you have in store next year
I'm from New Zealand and have never heard of the name Winika before so have just done a bit of research on it. It is a Maori word so would be pronounced we-knee-car.... in Maori language "i" is pronounced as an "e" sound. And the word winika is derives from the name of a Maori war canoe carved from a totara tree, on which the orchid grows. Pretty cool ah, so interesting what you can find out when you dig into it.
in 2019 could you do baby names that include Ys. Love the look of them within names but can't seem to find any that aren't extremely popular. im not expecting or planning on having a baby anytime soon but my 3 favourite baby names are Dylan. Lily and Molly. these are popular so would like to find a couple unusual ones!
can't wait for the next year of videos! I'm expecting twin girls in may and still undecided on names! your lit have been very helpful although my husband isn't very found on the more unique names! I love them though. Everly is my all time favourite girls name but my best friend has a daughter Evie and I'm scared there to similar! happy new year!
How exciting! You could go Evelina ;-)) I know so many Evie's, Everly's, Ava's etc. it's really popular but go with what you love! Evelina's best friend is Evie and I don't think they're too similar. Violet is a great option as well; My best friend has Violet and I always think it's a really more unusual way to use the V sound. xx
I really like it! It does sound a bit weather inspired - but Kylie Kardashain has Stormi! She might get a lot of comments about it being Raining - I used to love Rayanne with the nickname Raynee xx
SJ Strum Thank you! I actually really like weather inspired names. Me and all my siblings have kinda different names. Mine’s Indica. My sisters are serenity and whisper. My brother is Timber. Lol
Hi SJ!! I'm not sure if you remember or not, but I asked your opinion on the name Hickory awhile back. I absolutely love nature names, and rare nature names! 💕 I have three children. Hunter, Willow, and Iris. I think Hickory would make a nice addition to my family. If I'm blessed again with another child. My husband thinks that other children would come up with terrible nicknames for him. Do you think, that the name Hickory is too far out there? Or do you think that, Hickory is a completely usable name? Thanks in advance! Happy New year!! 😊
Yes, I am an American. And I completely agree. A hick is definitely not how one would want to be known as. Lol I just adore the name so much. My husband's first thought was the nursery rhyme. But, people are naming their children Huckle, so I thought, why not Hickory too? I think it's a strong nature name. But, I do have odd taste in names. I love the name Lilac, for a girl. (She could be Lila for short 😊) Lol but, to each their own, right?
My name is Mariadea. It means Maria the godess. I’m named after my grandma Maria. I’ve never heard someone else with my name or the name Dea so this is so nice to hear! I realy love the Dea part in my name because it makes it so unique.
Hi SJ. I love your videos! I already have a Rosie Teresita (Teresita was my hubby’s mum’s name - Tessy for short) and have just found out I am pregnant again. Early, early days but I’ll be keeping on watching for inspiration. 💕
Found it hard to pick boys names. Wasn't brave enough to go for Oberon (Obi for short) but used Florian as my son's middle name. Florian has a feminine ring to it but he is the patron saint of fire fighters and chimney sweeps. Just had a Khao Manee kitten and called her Miranda Silver. My daughters are Alexandria and Daniella.
Hi, I really enjoy watching your videos and would like to suggest some cute names that I personally love for a baby. Foe example Harmony, Renesmay and I think my name is quite unusual as I know nobody else with the same name and it is Tiger-Lilly. Tiger-lilly Is the Indian princess of Peter Pan. Really hope u can use some in a future video xx
Hey SJ, I love watching you baby name videos. I was hoping you could do one on Muslim boys and girls names if possible. I’m obsessed with names as well and I’m planning way ahead here but I like to be prepared. Just can’t find that one, you know? Also, maybe names through the decades like 20s and 40s etc. Thought that might be a cool one to see how names have changed and which ones may make a comeback.
Hi SJ. I absolutely adore your videos. I'd like to ask you if you know of a nickname for Ettiene? I'm not really fond of Ettie and want something maybe more creative. Thanks a bunch ♥
My partner is from Romania and has a traditional Romanian name (Bogdan) and I am French, we aren’t planning on having a baby yet but we watch your videos together and were wondering if you had any suggestions for European names? His surname (and the kids) will begin with N! We like unique ones!
I used to hate having such an unusual name, but i’ve learnt to love it as i’ve grown older! I will definitely give my children unusual names in the future, i’m glad people are starting to love more unique names! :)
Happy to see my name appear a couple of times! I have a big soft spot for the name Bonnie as it was my late grandmother's nick name (her full name was Veronica). Penelope is super cute too, and I love the nick name Penny. Lovely video as always xx
My daughter Jenna is 7 months pregnant with a girl and she LOVES your channel. She still hasn't settled on a name yet. We think you're just adorable! Cheers!
Have you ever heard of the name Eveny? It's my full name and I've never met anyone with the same name nor anyone who's heard of it! My parents named me after one of their ancestors, Evelyn, and Eveny is apparently Irish, spelled as Aibhne... would love to know if you know anything about it! So pleased I found your channel, I've spent far too much time binge-watching all your baby name Mondays!x
i am absolutely in LOVE with the name elias. the nickname eli is my favorite ever, and elias just fits so perfectly. thank you for introducing it to me with your other video!!
Stevi is a pretty cool name😝 I was named after Stevie Nicks, Mums a Fleetwood fan and Dad said she can name me it as long as the E is dropped. I’d love to see Aussie inspired names!! See if my son makes the list😜 I love your videos, you always have different names and most I’ve never heard of which is good! I started watching them once I found out this baby is another boy! Lots of inspo!
SJ... I really like the name Winnie, but don’t like names that typically allow Winnie as a nickname (such as Gwen, Gwendolyn. Gwenith, etc). Any suggestions?
Hey SJ! I was wondering if you could do a video where you react to “quirky” names that viewers send in! I’d love to see your response. If you were to do this, my submissions would probably be Lucrezia, pronounced “Lou-cret-zee-a” and Quinn as a girl’s name. Thanks!
I come from Greek descent and my full name is Lena Alexandrea which is a very Greek/mythological name. I currently have a son named Angel Theodore, another quite Greek name and am expecting twins! I would love to stick with a Greek tone and theme with all my names as I’m so proud of my heritage however my partner likes more traditionally English names, both of the twins are girls and he is opting for names such as Emily and Hannah whereas I would love to go for a Greek name with a meaning, I like quite pretty names that end in A’s or IE’s and was wondering if anyone had good suggestions x
So funny that my name is heavily associated with sleeping beauty and that it’s becoming more popular. My parents chose it because we are very Irish and the “boys version” in the baby name book they had was “Brier”.
I have been following you for 3 years now, I just love baby names. I am 37 and this Christmas my husband (I call him Finn...since we started dating taken from last name) and I found out that we are pregnant! This is both of our first pregnancy and child! I want to nominate myself! I really with I had a pregnancy buddy, someone that is pregnant with me around the same time. So sad..... I am looking for B Boy names short and sweet. We would like option to continue the initials of my husband, Brian Jack. I love Joseph! Favorite name!! we have been interested in Basil, Jericho, Jacque (pronounced:Jake). Thank you SJ for all of your fab ideas and the fun thoughts I have in my head after watching...lol...hearts, ribbons, trucks and frogs
What are your thoughts on the name Mannon for a boy? I know Manon is a girls name in France. It's also a last name that means "fierce man". Do you think it would work for a boy (in America) or would he get teased for having a girl's name?
Kate Weiss as a French girl, the name Manon for a little boy would be a big no-no. It’s strictly a girl name in French countries, an alternative form of the name Marie. I guess that it would be ok if you always stay in English speaking countries :)
Hey SJ, been watching your video's for a while now! I'm really stuck on a name for my unborn girl. She has two brothers called Lorenzo & Cortez. Is there anything not in the top 100 you can think of that would fit nicely?
Elara is totally stunning! I know a little girl named Harbor June! I do prefer it for a boy though personally. I'm weird and love Haven for a boy but find it just ok for a girl haha. Thuza! That's new for me so cool! I know LOADS of littles named Adeline/Adaline/Adalynn/etc. Navy is super adorable and is rising out of nowhere, I love it! WINIKA! Adorable! Bonnie was one of my first fave girl names all the way back in 5th grade
So many girl names! My husband is set on the name Calcifer for a boy. My only concern is we'd be setting our son up for a life of mispronouncing and misspelling, possibly even teasing. What do you guys think?
Hey :D what's the origin of the name? It's sounds very interesting and unique but the first thing that came in to my mind was Lucifer. Which actually means lightbringer but is also the name for the devil :)
@@leowa399 I was worried ppl would think Lucifer. Calcifer is the name of the fire demon in "Howl's Moving Castle". As for origin it could be derived from the Latin root calor meaning heat or calc meaning limestone

what about baby names inspired by being born on new years
Oh yes there must be lots of lovely names meaning NEW x

Noelle means christmas.
I love the name Salem! It would work for both a boy and girl.
mills I know 🙂 Christmas has special meaning to me so I wanted to incorporate it into her name. Plus I just think it’s a beautiful sounding name haha
I love Salem!
Wow what a cool name!!! So glad you went with what you LOVE xxxx
What about names for twins that compliment each other or sound really nice together? For example I love the names Zoë and Zara for twin girls
YEs I've mentioned a few in the TAG videos and always find it so hard! ha ha! I overthink it!! I'd be a nightmare if I had twins - ha ha!
My cousins are twins named Hayley and Kelsey. I think the names go to go together well- both 2 syllable names with a middle L and an ending EY. But different enough to not sound matchy matchy
Sara is beautiful.
I know some twins named Olivia and Viola and since they have the exact same letters they sound like they go together sooo well :)

Kalyn & Robert I say Air-ee-Ella :)
I would say are-ee-ella🙈 thats the German pronunciation
I’d say are-ee-ella
It's such a gorgeous name! xx
We named our 11 week old ariella we had never heard it no one in our area or that has it so we love it! X
OMG COLLETE !!! CAM AND FAM ARE AMAZING
Yes! Collette is beautiful
I liked Navy, Story, Elias, and Gilbert the best from the names you mentioned. Channon Rose on UA-cam just recently had a baby and she named her Snow after Snow White.
The Hufflepuff Hermione I don’t think it was after Snow White. I thought she said snow was just significant to her and her husband
Her baby was the only embryo they were able to get from fertility treatments and they had her frozen so snow because she was a freezer baby lol and they both also LOVE skiing and the snow. I have followed the whole journey
Nicole dutton So have I, and she is right it was also after Snow White since channon and trav met at a Halloween party where she was dressed as Snow White and their first kiss was in the snow x
Such a gorgeous name and story behind it! I love it xxxxx
Could you do a video about word names? So names which are inspired by often used words :)) for example Story, Lavender,October,...
Oooh yes I really can't wait to do this! I have a little list on the go....xxxx

Dewa (means gods, superpower)
Arka (means sun)
I like Story as a middle name. I really like a lot of those names, like Lyric and Poem for a girl, Poet or Fable for a boy. I wouldn't use them myslef, but you could make a really cute sibset with those sort of names as middle names
I’m 17, single, and definitely not planning on having children anytime soon... BUT I just wanted to say that I literally LOVE your channel and all your baby name videos. I’ve always been so obsessed with names so I’m so glad I came across your channel!
Ah thanks so so much Molly! I love your name :-) x
Two top contenders for when I have children: Eír Aislyn and Loki Ciarán (since I’m half Irish and have and Irish name). I love the girl name Eír (pronounced Ær) as she is the Norse goddess of help and mercy with the middle name Aislyn (an Irish name meaning Dream or vision) and the boy name Loki (Norse ‘god’ of mischief and trickery) with the middle name Ciarán (an Irish/ Gaelic name meaning little dark one)
we are irish too and almost had a kieran (little dark one) since my husband's hair is jet black and we had little dark haired babies. i love the name. adore irish names in general.
please do a list of Israeli/Hebrew names. the sounds are so unique
Winika is gorgeous, but probably to out there for my husband. He likes more traditional. We have a daughter named Caroline, which I absolutely love.
Thank you!
Those are all beautiful!!
There's a girl on UA-cam named Annika Victoria and think those sound really beautiful together
I love Annika! I wanted to name our daughter the dutch version of Annika, Anneke, pronounced almost exactly the same but husband didn't like it.
Love them all, Genevieve is so cool!
Funnily enough there all barbie names :) love them though especially anneliese
I am yet to see my name on anywhere here, Raluca. It means Ray of Sun, after RA the Egyptian sun god, and Luca which is Latin for a ray of light. It is a fairly popular Romanian girls' name. My partner and I hope to find more unique baby names for our kids when we have them.
Wow I love it - what a special meaning! x

What are your thoughts on Floyd as a first name? My husband likes it but I’m not sure about it
So amazing to watch your channel grow 4 fold since I started watching, well deserved!
Thanks so so much Karen and to you too xxx
My favourite names right now are Amy Octavia and Blake Thomas. I also like Rory for a boy and Willow for a girl but probably wouldn’t use those. Bridget Hadley is a great combo too. Oh and I love Maeve
Boy names are harder to me
Ah gorgeous names, bake is lovely and Rory - very classic and literary sounding! xxx
SJ Strum thank you 😊
Did you know that a character in the tv show the 100 is named Octavia Blake.
Claire Willow oh I love the name Royce that’s a wonderful pick
I don't usually comment, but I discovered your channel in 2018 when I fell pregnant with my second baby. We are due in Feb 2019 and team yellow so I have loved watching all your baby naming videos for inspiration. Thank you for all the great ideas, you may have helped name this little one...if I can get the suggestions past the husband 😂😂
Ah so excited for you! Not long now :-))) I can't wait to hear what you choose xxx
I always thought your name was Estée 😁
I wish!!! I love that name :-))) x
yes, same here. when she says sj i hear estee.
I’m so glad I’ve found you!
I’ll be watching every week and watching the previous videos now 😍 I’m 7 weeks pregnant with hopefully our rainbow baby (stick baby stick! 🤞🏻)
We really struggled naming our daughter as NOTHING goes with our surname (Beard 🧔 🙄)
Naming babies is so hard!!
What did you end up naming your baby?
Harbour was on my short list for my little one, he was born in summer 2017 and I absolutely love it! It didn’t make the cut in the end but it’s still my back up if I have another.
Hi baby name enthusiasts! I adore the name Stellette (meaning star) but my only problem is that it’s a type of pasta! Does this completely put you off or can it be overlooked? Otherwise I’d use Estelle or Stella
Happy New Year beautiful lady. Another brilliant video. I love the name Gillbert.... that’s one for the list. Xxxxx
These are names that I love, I’m not pregnant and not planning on to be for a very long time
For boys I chosen;
William
Rufus
Alexander
Theodore
Then for girls;
Charlotte
Isabella
Saffron
Alessia
I probably will use these names when I’m a bit older, also happy new year 💗
I love them all! x
SJ Strum thank you so much for replying! 😊 could you do a British traditional baby name list? Xx
@@l_0l5my third son name is Alexander
Not sure I'm keen on Haven because I used to go to Haven Holiday Park as a child so it reminds me of that.
Have you ever done Astrological names?
I’m a Freya and have always loved it ( its surved me well)
Love your videos 😍 in Denmark the names from two generations ago are really modern. Like Olga, Elin, Agnes, Ingrid, Svend, Viggo, Vilhelm or Arthur. My two year old is called Otto. We call him Ottoman or Risotto 😝
Ah how cute! my nephew is Otto xxx
Current favourite names
Girls: Cadence, Aurelia, Amelie
Boys: Ezra, Elijah, Daniel
Yay thanks!
I had a friend named Cadence, and her nickname was Cadie pronounced like Katie! I think its a cute nickname idea.
Juinne R that’s why I like it too 😋
My middle name is Amalie. Super unique too
SO lovely! Elijah is one of my faves too x
I’ve loved these videos over the past year, and getting to know the community!! SJ you are amazing and thank you so much for all the creative and beautiful names! 🥰💙 ~ Rocky
Ah thanks so much Rocky xxx
Ive watched a few of ur videos and ive not heard any of my girls names would love to hear ur opinions on them please they are ...
1st: Melody Naomi Lola
2nd Kia Natasha Charli
3rd Sophie Ann
Thanks :-) xx
Gorgeous! My sister is called Naomi x
@@SJ_Strum my sister was called naomi but she died when she was 21 thats why my eldest has it as her middle name xxx
Pippa is already a nickname. Short for Philippa or Penelope, etc.
You could just use the letter P. My cousin has a Penelope whom we call P.
You could use Pippy? That’s really cute for a little kid
Kayla Lynn I like that thanks
I like P and SweetPea!! :-))
I also read a book recently where the two main characters (sisters) were named Florence and Romaine - just gorgeous!
The most truly unusual baby names I’ve heard of is from a vlogger called Taina who’s a mum of ten, names such as Jerusalem and Aphrodite, they’re all quite unique and interesting names! xo
I know!!! She has amazing names!! x
Violet is a great option as well; My best friend has Violet and I always think it's a really more unusual way to use the V sound. xx
How does everyone feel about the name Rainey? I’m not pregnant but I really like it. I just wonder if it would be taken in a negative way?
I really like it! It does sound a bit weather inspired - but Kylie Kardashain has Stormi! She might get a lot of comments about it being Raining - I used to love Rayanne with the nickname Raynee xx
I like it and it is used to be short for Lorraine. I would spell it Rainie xx
SJ Strum Thank you! I actually really like weather inspired names. Me and all my siblings have kinda different names. Mine’s Indica. My sisters are serenity and whisper. My brother is Timber. Lol
April Ross thank you ☺️
How about Raine?
Are you American? I only ask because in America a hick isn't a great thing to aspire to.
It reminds me of a hickey and the nursery rhyme hickory dickory dock... Not the best connotations sorry x
I think it's a gorgeous name but unfortunately there's a good chance he could lead to a less- than- gorgeous nickname 😕
Hickory dickory dock...the mouse ran up the clock
It feels like my name practically doesn't exist most of the time... it was nice to get a mention for once!!! :)
Really hope u can use some in a future video
xx
I actually want you to do a Czech Names lists, I’m half czech and I really want to continue the tradition
Love this video, love your enthusiasm for this topic, so sweet. Happy new year 🥳
Hey SJ,
I love watching you baby name videos.
Ooooh I've been looking at 20's and 40's boys name for this week! I'll try a muslim name list too x
SJ Strum Aww that’s great! I’m looking forward to the videos :)
You know you love SJ to the moon and back when you arrive at 6am from a nye party and the first thing you do is watch her latest video haha
Can you do a video of irsh baby names xx
You are the only person that makes me look forward to Mondays! Happy new year 🥳
Loving your videos, I'm currently looking for a name for my baby girl coming in July.
another 1 i just thought of that is quite like Seraphina is Sophara.
Hi SJ. I absolutely adore your videos. I'd like to ask you if you know of a nickname for Ettiene? I'm not really fond of Ettie and want something maybe more creative. Thanks a bunch ♥
Maybe Ti? Or if you wanted something a bit different nettie, nite or Enid? Hope it helped xx
My partner is from Romania and has a traditional Romanian name (Bogdan) and I am French, we aren’t planning on having a baby yet but we watch your videos together and were wondering if you had any suggestions for European names? His surname (and the kids) will begin with N! We like unique ones!
ooooh I'll have a think. x
yesss! i was already on a baby name video binge & then you post this!!!
I used to hate having such an unusual name, but i’ve learnt to love it as i’ve grown older! I will definitely give my children unusual names in the future, i’m glad people are starting to love more unique names! :)
Yes people are branching out a lot more!! It's great! x
Love your videos so much SJ!!!
We're pregnant and looking for baby name inspiration! :) Loving your videos!
What did you end up naming your baby?
Happy to see my name appear a couple of times! I have a big soft spot for the name Bonnie as it was my late grandmother's nick name (her full name was Veronica). Penelope is super cute too, and I love the nick name Penny. Lovely video as always xx
My daughter Jenna is 7 months pregnant with a girl and she LOVES your channel. She still hasn't settled on a name yet. We think you're just adorable! Cheers!
Ah how exciting! Let me know if you have facebook and message me as I'm planning a little baby name game x
Ah it's gorgeous - such a pretty sound! xx
i am absolutely in LOVE with the name elias. the nickname eli is my favorite ever, and elias just fits so perfectly. thank you for introducing it to me with your other video!!
Stevi is a pretty cool name😝 I was named after Stevie Nicks, Mums a Fleetwood fan and Dad said she can name me it as long as the E is dropped. I’d love to see Aussie inspired names!! See if my son makes the list😜
I love your videos, you always have different names and most I’ve never heard of which is good! I started watching them once I found out this baby is another boy! Lots of inspo!
SJ... I really like the name Winnie, but don’t like names that typically allow Winnie as a nickname (such as Gwen, Gwendolyn. Gwenith, etc). Any suggestions?
Wilhemina, Winifred, Edwina, Winona, Rowen/Rowena, Elowen, Winter, Arwen
Winslow
I love Winslow! x
Thank you all!!
Hey SJ! I was wondering if you could do a video where you react to “quirky” names that viewers send in! I’d love to see your response. If you were to do this, my submissions would probably be Lucrezia, pronounced “Lou-cret-zee-a” and Quinn as a girl’s name. Thanks!
Oooh what a great idea! I actually know a Lucrezia!!! How funny is that! We worked together and I loved her name; she was very creative x
Lucrezia is a well known news reader in the uk!
My kids names are Zido, Zephyr & Lola the z names have meaning and Lola is just a name I’ve always loved
I've always loved Lola - we stupidly used it for our cat before we had kids and kind of feels wrong to use it for a baby now!! xxx
Me and my wife are having a baby in May. Do you guys think Elliotte would be a good name for a farm girl?
You could use Ottie as a nickname!
Matt Marquardt love it!
Ah it sounds pretty to me!
Navy Grace is just gorgeous!!
agreed!
Oooh I'd definitely get some greek sounds in there as it's special part of who they will be xx
What about Valerie Elsie rylie avery or Juliette (as a nickname you could cool her Julie)
Dea sounds so pretty! I love short but pretty names 😊 love Elara & Harbour too! X
Kayleigh and Elara sound gorgeous together x
Ahhh congratualtions! How exciting! I'll get a list to you xxxx
You should do an Irish baby names list ☺️ (Though they are hard to pronounce like mine ha!)
Great ideas for the new year.
Magnolia Snow is a beautiful name!
Rochelle Clark I thought Lucifer too or calcify
