A big 'yes' to adding the Plus Renamer. Great tutorial - thanks! Also a tip to others watching this video. C4D's viewport won't show the Jitter effect (i.e. Materials turned on in viewport Options) and will only be visible in the RS Renderview. May not be obvious to everyone.
100% would love to see that renamer in plus. Most of our scenes have like 30 takes, so ya it can be tidious if you need to go and rename a bunch of them for whatever reason.
To make the tedious offset connection to each texture bit faster you could select all the textures and then click Offset circle O next to keyframe icon to reveal the Offsett on all the texture nodes, then it's just matter of dragging in the connection without digging through the menu each time.
Worth noting that RS doesn't always love the material stacking, especially when it comes to AOVs. But you should be able to use that same tag in a vertex map, and blend them in one material instead.
Make sure you set the Bump Blender to Additive Mode to mix the normal map and Round Corners correctly. The way Chad did it here basically replaces the normal map with the Round Corners.
Watching the intro made me think you would show some anisotropy tips for wood but we ended up watching some basic Redshift jitter. Isn't it misleading? I love you guys, you gave me so much when I started my C4D journey. Can't forget that. But after Plus, all you do is promote the products. Nothing wrong with promoting of course but doing it under teaching feels off.
Your "chatoyance" is actually anisotropy. And "nano tubes" are simply capillaries. They are not even close to the nano-scale. Try not making thinks more complicated than necessary.
That's what we thought, too! Until we did a deep dive into how to make make more realistic wood. Turns out some woods look more realistic when using these maps. Feel free to try our free version of Studio to see them in action!

Awesome stuff Chad! Love Greyscalegorilla Studio!!!
Thanks dood!

Yes- I want Plus Renamer, too!
thank you! is it possible with octane, too? thanks
I don’t see why not 👍
Yes!
Sweet, great as always!
🙌
Wow! Really nice!

A very helpful tutorial - thank you for your efforts!
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely love this kind of breakdown! Pls make more 🙏🏽
thanks!
Thanks Chad!
You’re welcome ❤
wow the plus renamer would be a great thing to add to plus membership, I was wondering if there was a way of doing that in C4D
Yah I use it all the time!
Super helpful! I was exactly searching something like this a while ago and found the shader switch isn't the answer. But this is the answer!
Glad we could help!
Please do a Octane version too. by the way Greyscalegorilla Studio is fire. Nice one Chad and the Team
Thanks!!! We appreciate that!
is there a Octane version of this? many thanks in advance if there is.
Same principles, so it should work
@@cgpov awesome Ill give this a try :D thanks Chad :D
Can you share a tutorial or tips for achieving this in Arnold?
Top stuff and presentation
❤️
Thanks!
I would LOVE to see the lighting set up details. Beautiful lighting!
Good idea!

Nice Render!
Thanks!

Why wouldn’t I want PlusRenamer😁
couldn’t you use a triplanar to set the side texture?
0:33 What kind of scanner is that?
Plus renamer pls~
renamer please yes
Here's a tutorial idea: If you've only known Octane - How to follow a tutorial that uses Redshift as the renderer and still get great Octane results?
🤔

I’m pretty sure wood doesn’t need a metallic map, it’s dielectric…
