@Yii Also important note about Blazes Talent. It doesnt protect her against true one-shot attacks. She needs to survive an attack at under 25% HP for it to proc. If she goes from >25%HP to Zero in a single attack she just dies.
Some people have already mentioned some other laneholders, but sticking with guards I'd like to mention Nearl the radiant knight with S1. Similar to blaze in range, what distinguishes her is her damage, higher than anyone mentioned on the video. She packs the highest attack stat (pushing over 2000 with skill active), and attack speed barely behind thorns (1 vs 0,8667, lower being better), together with a talent that lets her ignore a % of enemy defense, and a module that boosts her damage by 15% if she ever blocks someone, while also increasing her def ignore. So she can take care of the heaviest of enemies without a problem. She also packs one of the highest HP pools of any operator, so she can handle arts damage pretty well, (although her Defense stat is rather average at 295).
Another issue she suffers from is that she only has one block, so she's gonna leak at crowded waves, so putting her with anyone that can block is a good idea
I also love pallas but there's 2 very missed oppurtunities with her that tick me off so much. firstly that she didn't get dobermann's module, her placement behind other units is very important for her use, so increasing the times you can do so would drastically increase her use. And that her talent can't heal enmity units, which is especially dumb cause one of the few minos operators is an enmity defender. Especially when taking into consideration that Skalter would still provide better healing for enmity ops.

If I actually need lane-holding, it's either Kal'Tsit when a big thing needs killing, or Ling because she's just OP as all hell.
Personally i feel like Blaze fallen out quite alot from the laneholding category Mountains dps is quite a bit higher than blazes and his low sp cost with low dp cost with highest ho regen in the game helps him quite alot on most stages And thorns single target dps is quite high so instances of him getting overrun or failing to kill an unit is quite low And now we have units such as Mudrock pallas and gavial alter wich can also easily solo lanes if needed Blazes def is just a tad bit higher than thorns and her lack of self healing hurts the defense plus She shines on aoe dmg scenarios but instances where such aoe dmg is needed is rare and instances where thorns/mountain cant be used on those scenarios is even rarer I hope her module gives her some sort of healing otherwise she will continue to fall as a lane holder everytime a new unit gets released
Blaze is still quite good, due to her block 3, AoE attacks, hard hits, extra space of range on her attacks, status resists, and the one time heal. She will continue to do what she does best, which is put a defender out of a job. But yeah, generally, Thorns is the go to choice due to his regen, range, high DPS, and ability to hit flyers. He does, however, need attacks to get his S3 in perma-mode, and that can be an issue in some situations. Mountain is great for regen and low DP, though I'd say he has a bigger impact on vanguard use than on Blaze. And Mudrock is typically for when you want the shield. Against enemies that approach in a more spaced out manner, like in the event that just ended, Nearlter is quite a bit superior, due to hitting much harder, though situations Blaze can handle that Nearlter cannot exceed the reverse by quite a bit. That said, it is overall a good thing. There shouldn't be one go to operator for a class.
I'll be honest, when I need a single unit to hold a single lane while the rest of the team deals with a massive problem elsewhere...my goto is Blemishine instead of any of these guards...granted I have Thorns banned but still. She may lack multitarget but she can compensate with how hard her S2 hits and her ability to cheese her already high block count against all but the toughest of nuts, and due to how her skill charges it's almost always on in mid to high pressure lanes. The only issues I've had is that she can't charge without enemies and that she doesn't fare well in low pressure lanes that have slow, heavy hitters. Both of these rarely show up and are usually solved respectively with Perfumer and Shamare crowded up with the rest of the team.
I used Pallas during that Minos event and she can hold lanes even without the use of healers, she can also buff herself if there is no one in front of her which can boost her damage and survivability.
The 1917 Halifax Explosion occurred when a French cargo ship carrying high-explosives collided with a Norwegian vessal in the harbour of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The collision set the former ship on fire, which later exploded, destroying every building within an 800-m radius and killing over 1700 people. The blast remains the largest non-nuclear manmade explosion in human history. Also, shouldn't Nearl TRK S1 count as a lane holder? Yeah she's only got 1-block but her attack and aspd is so high it hardly matters much, and Pallas often gets a pass for requiring a blocker to achieve peak performance.
My go to Laneholder will always be Specter I never go into any mission without unless I'm literally not allowed to I don't have Thorns, Blaze or Mountain so my usual Second Lane Holder tends to be Mudrock I have Pallas but still not built yet
La Pluma is definitely worth mentioning. Sites will place an emphasis on her S2, but her S1 at M3 is truly where she shines the most. I've used her multiple times in places where a strat will suggest using Thorns with support, and she can handle it solo. She's sort of like the Ifrit of guards. On the right map, she's god tier. There are other ones missing as well. Specter, Lappland (both S1 and S2), Silverash (he has skills besides his S3, and they are good), and Nearlter, to name the ones that come to mind. Gladiia isn't a guard, though, so doesn't belong in this video. But if you did want to include non-guards, then you also get the likes of Kal'tsit, Mudrock, Bagpipe, Siege, Blemishine, and Jaye, to name a few.
Worth mentioning that combining Mountain S2 with Pallas S3 you'll get the most efficient lane hold combo for even high defense enemies, since mountain benefits extremely well from her vigor More att more defense to up off + his talent, the defense increase "fix" his defense reduction, and extra block count makes him hit almost like blaze for a few seconds Pallas on the other hand have big man helping her from getting enemies near her while slapping the same enemies as mountain, while ALSO healing him in case enemies are more tough or are using arts damage Downsides: position can be complicated nowadays and AoE attacks hurts pallas a lot
Generally speaking Nearlter S1 is superior to Pallas when it comes to backing up Mountain. Mountain can cover for her weakness, that being her single target + 1 block nature, while she can get an attack over 2k, and that isn't every 3rd/4th hit, but for every attack. Nearlter does take a little bit of time to charge up, so Pallas does have that in her favor. That said, situations where you need to do this are pretty rare. Typically, Mountain can handle it solo, you'd use another lane holder, or add any of a variety other sources of damage.
@@Axterix13 yeah forgot to mention As much as I love the combo, is also veeeery rare to use and Mountain alone is enough, or in my case I just lane hold everything between Mountain, Thorns, Ling, Lee and Monst3r Just wish I had Skalter, life without Skalter is not daijobu :(
Interesting how you say that Thorns is arguably the best lane holder considering no one wants to touch a Spikey Boi irl. It's almost as if Hypergryph really thought about the role for each character/animal/creature they represent.
*There is an Impostor among Amiya* *What will he do next?* Tune in next time, on Yii-Arknights Also, Pallas is underrated I usually run Pallas-Blaze when too many enemy coming to the choke hole, Pallas-Mountain for EXTRA DAMAGE for Mountain, and Thorns-Pallas (Yes, Pallas at the front) to ease up Thorns job. She indeed is.. the support
Amilapog is finnaly canon LES GOOOOOOO :amilapog: Still im suprised specter isnt here since shes a good lane holder because of her self regen and s2 usage
Now talking about Saria, she has some shit hp that can tank EX EB phase 2 melee attack with less Medic than other, along with some bruh atk that can straight up active EB Dominion. BRO HYPERDRIP
It's interesting the analysis and help to understand which operator is God for lane holding in determining situation; change of topic could you do a video explaining what to have in mind forming a squad please? I have various operators that I have Gabe the E2 like Flamebringer, Broca, Executor, Aosta, etc but Im non using it because now I have some meta or AFK operator's, and I want to use that's operators that's I raised and that's one that's are my husbando and waifus, but I not know how to form the squad, so if you could help me please
Okay, so, for forming a squad First, pick the operators you want to use. In this situation, I'm going to say broca and aosta, because i don't know anything about the other 2 you mentioned. Now, we quickly analyse what those 2 operators bring to the table. Broca is melee, reasonably tanky, has 3 block, AoE, and his S2 deals good damage in an 1×3 Aosta is ranged, does true AoE in a 3×2, has an arts DoT, and a damage skill. Both are pretty expensive to deploy. Now we just take what we gathered those operators can do and how they do it, and chose complimentary operators. So, given they are expensive, we want a couple of vanguards to get the DP for them. Given broca is a lane holder, we don't need a lane holding vanguard like bagpipe or seige, so a flagbearer or other rapid DP vanguard is preferred. Aosta does AoE in a fairly small area, so we want someone to hold enemies in his range. Broca could do the trick, but his AoE is better served in a different lane, so you choose someone with high block, AkA a defender. A cheap healing defender is best, for self sustain and not overtaxing your DP. Broca is tanky, but lacks self sustain, so we give him a medic. Single target is preferred for the HPS, but if an AoE medic can cover your other operators then that can be worthwhile. Aosta shoots up, broca doesn't. An anti air sniper or a caster for brocas lane is necessary. Finally, aosta does some arts damage, but not a lot, so getting a caster to deal with high defence enemies is worth. After we have gotten the operators we need to compliment the ops we want to use, we see how many slots we have left, and pick support operators to fill those slots. So, we have our 2 ops, 2 vanguards, 1 defender, 2 casters (or 1 caster 1 AA sniper) and 1 medic. Thats 8 ops out of a max of i believe 11. We pick 3 support ops. To deal with unblockables, we pick a slower, to assist with damage output we pick a buffer, and to assist with sudden problems we pick a fast redeploy. And thats about how you design a squad. Or just pick your faves, a few generally useful operators to tag along, and go at it like thag until you win. Designing a squad is for no life tryhards.
Honerable mention to the other very strong Lane holder options from other classes: Mudrock S2, thiccest stat stick, true aoe damage but 30DP and dependent on the enemies ASPD Kalsit S2: Mountain S2 but 30DP, 2 deployments and not true Afk Gladiia, regen HP, received reduced damage from 99% of enemies with module and can cancel attack animation. Lee : situational infinite blockcount, strong general game stat stick, 3x3 attack range that opens multi lanes attacks and wall hacks. But reduced DP gain and no self healing. Blue Woman. 5* La pluma, Highmore : reaper guards S1 attack strike skill privilege
My own addition. They might be not the popular choice or very strong, but just for more addition. Beeswax with s2. Blocks, true AoE, Hits Air unit, Regen, High defense, High Res. Any zombie guard operator like Hellagur, Utage. High DPS, Regen Beanstalk. High DPS when the enemy blocked by the crab, the crab blocks and can be resurrected. Herself can hit air unit. Vulcan, Indra. Severely outdated tho. The sushiman. Eunectes with her s3. Tho, has servere downtime. She is strong, when the skill active. Once i consider healing defender as Lane holder. Esp with Saria because she has damage. Any auto shifters are lane holder as long there's hole and the enemies are on the allowed weight. Sideroca, she can tank many bosses including Talulah.
I see that the guard branches are so huge that 6* landholders can already take a whole video, we truly are playing Guardknights
this still ignores the non-guard 6* laneholders like Mudrock, Kal'tsit, and Lee but the fact guards are enough for full video on this niches does highlight it being the class's specialty

I used Pallas during that Minos event and she can hold lanes even without the use of healers, she can also buff herself if there is no one in front of her which can boost her damage and survivability.
Honestly I watch your videos not for the guide but mostly for Pog Amiya shenanigans
Nearlter lacks self-sustain though. Pallas at least can help sustain her blocker, which cuts down the penalty she gets for her blocker requirement.
@@cannonCoder Blaze doesn't have self sustain either aside from the one time invincibility steroid
Aoe guard is such a great archetype
Broca, Best lane holder baby
My go to Laneholder will always be Specter
I never go into any mission without unless I'm literally not allowed to
I don't have Thorns, Blaze or Mountain so my usual Second Lane Holder tends to be Mudrock
I have Pallas but still not built yet
I would say that Gladia and La Pluma are also worth mentioning - especially if someone would use Skalter with them in tandem.
But if you did want to include non-guards, then you also get the likes of Kal'tsit, Mudrock, Bagpipe, Siege, Blemishine, and Jaye, to name a few.
yii arknights liking laneholders (not clickbait)
Amiya's horror mirror homie- Ayima
Worth mentioning that combining Mountain S2 with Pallas S3 you'll get the most efficient lane hold combo for even high defense enemies, since mountain benefits extremely well from her vigor
More att more defense to up off + his talent, the defense increase "fix" his defense reduction, and extra block count makes him hit almost like blaze for a few seconds
Pallas on the other hand have big man helping her from getting enemies near her while slapping the same enemies as mountain, while ALSO healing him in case enemies are more tough or are using arts damage
Downsides: position can be complicated nowadays and AoE attacks hurts pallas a lot
@@Axterix13 yeah forgot to mention
As much as I love the combo, is also veeeery rare to use and Mountain alone is enough, or in my case I just lane hold everything between Mountain, Thorns, Ling, Lee and Monst3r
Just wish I had Skalter, life without Skalter is not daijobu :(
*_PALLAS GAMING_*
The shadows are alive indeed
You forgot the best laneholder, mudrock🗿
Can you link the img you used at 5:56 but uncensored? I need it to research more abt mountain being a lane holder 😶
Pallas-Vulcan-Erato clears sounds like a fun idea
Peak guardknights it is
*gasp* Cliffhanger
I am more interested with the story' yii Made in his video than the class explanation
Absurd, everyone knows that funny detective fish is the best laneholder
Would consider some honorable mentions such as gladiia la pluma and jaye 👍👍👍
Every time yii posts i come
I’m in love with yii
looks like someone's been playing risk of rain
got blaze and pallas on the last banner but i dunno who is better to build, got any ideas?
Interesting how you say that Thorns is arguably the best lane holder considering no one wants to touch a Spikey Boi irl.
It's almost as if Hypergryph really thought about the role for each character/animal/creature they represent.
Gotta love Land holders on my CN acc. Makes running the acc pretty simple.
I heckin’ love AFKnights AmiyaPog
fumo plotline thickens... thank u for the informative video! 🫡
My silverash oh no there are too many enemies *wink*
Is that one of the plants vs zombies soundtracks in blaze's part???
*There is an Impostor among Amiya*
*What will he do next?*
Tune in next time, on Yii-Arknights
Also, Pallas is underrated
I usually run Pallas-Blaze when too many enemy coming to the choke hole, Pallas-Mountain for EXTRA DAMAGE for Mountain, and Thorns-Pallas (Yes, Pallas at the front) to ease up Thorns job.
She indeed is.. the support
5:55 why is bing chilling amiyapog censored ?
A cliffhanger? Dangit
mountain literally makes vanguards redundant outside of dp reduction stages
The pluma is not here that makes me m a l d
Amilapog is finnaly canon LES GOOOOOOO :amilapog:
Still im suprised specter isnt here since shes a good lane holder because of her self regen and s2 usage
More Risk of Rain 2 references, very based
meanwhile my laneholder: Lappland S1 (sometime S2 depends on enemy)
Okay, so, for forming a squad
First, pick the operators you want to use.
@@Santisima_Trinidad thanks
Honerable mention to the other very strong Lane holder options from other classes:
Mudrock S2, thiccest stat stick, true aoe damage but 30DP and dependent on the enemies ASPD
Kalsit S2: Mountain S2 but 30DP, 2 deployments and not true Afk
Gladiia, regen HP, received reduced damage from 99% of enemies with module and can cancel attack animation.
Lee : situational infinite blockcount, strong general game stat stick, 3x3 attack range that opens multi lanes attacks and wall hacks. But reduced DP gain and no self healing.
Blue Woman.
5* La pluma, Highmore : reaper guards S1 attack strike skill privilege
La Pluma too.
My own addition. They might be not the popular choice or very strong, but just for more addition.
Beeswax with s2.
Blocks, true AoE, Hits Air unit, Regen, High defense, High Res.
Any zombie guard operator like Hellagur, Utage.
High DPS, Regen
Beanstalk.
