The reason regular people like the new one is because they sucked and couldn't handle her timers. Sombra mains were so accustomed to the timers that they didn't even have to think about it so infinite timers are useless and then we got nerfs on top of useless infinite timers. She's slower and her one reliable ability isn't reliable anymore since literally anything can break the translocator. Now she's a glorified security camera with even less uptime since she's encouraged to use stealth more often which means you can't do anything while invis.
i played this game for over a year and i've never seen a sombra main or even someone who likes playing her. so when i see more people now enjoying playing her including me i would say fuc* the pros they should suck it up and adapt. you can't change the game for hundreds of thousands of players and maybe more so that a thousand or maybe less keep playing an unwanted character.

The Undertaker Reaper shreds Hammond up close unless if Hammond lasers Reaper's head. Doomfist is pretty shit against Hammond, he barely does any damage and let's not forget Hammond has 600 HP and Armour. Hammond needs to laser Doomfist tho to kill him or he may loose. Sombra barely tickles Hammond, but she has a small hitbox so it's gonna be a tough time for Hammond to kill her too. If Mei freezes Hammond, immediately configure into a ball so that she can't headshot you. Then proceed to kill her but you most likely won't kill her because Mei has her obnoxious self heal and ice walls. Roadhog counters Hammond hard. Junkrat shreds Hammond's in a small space but make sure you engage him in an open area so you don't get bombed by his grenades.
Danteh and many other great Sombra’s already explained how bad this can be definitely for her in the mid fight and all the weaknesses she already had, for the casuals this may be great but otherwise you can get more value out of other heroes, make Sombra great again.

If you look at it,it does the exact opposite,it makes her less active in fights cause now you need to place your translocators far away,else risk just have it destroyed,and since its easy to hear it will be needed to stay even further away,making her even LESS active in fights people often complained that she wasnt active in the fight,so now she needs to place her translocator further away else risk it be detected,but not only that! she gets to stay invis even more,which gives you more time to do nothing and be inactive in fights! not only that but her reduced speed while stealthy means you will take longer to get to fights,it will be harder to escape,etc

Its not, she is now so pasive, than is very boring. She is so easy to use now, she has no dificulty, pressure, she lost the emotion that is playing her. She would be played less than now, and im pretty sure, that her winrate will go down too.
It's a nerf. Her translocator can be destroyed (has 5hp), her translocator lets off an extremely loud beeping for up to 20m through walls, her detect hitbox is double the size meaning enemies dont even need to be near you and you'll be revealed, her decreased speed makes it harder to catch up to enemies while invis or get to those hard to reach places while your translocator is down. They all ruin what was good about her kit, Blizzard did nothing about her real issues or any of her bugs for that matter. Blizzard has no clue what they're doing right now, they're trying to rework heroes too much instead of giving us hotfixes.
for anyone who mains her its strictly a nerf, every once in a while the infinite durations may win a game, but the downsides are extreme. fitzy (gm sombra main) said that it was only a nerf
I really like the infinite stealth, it can make sombra incredibly powerful as a scouter to see what the enemy teams doing and you can put a trans locator near spawn or somthing if you get caught

Gary Woulf Doomfist got a buff to his shield amount per ability use, widow's rifle's automatic fire has increased damage drop off. Mcree, 76, and Bastion have lowered damage drop off, Mcree's ult's range has been buffed to 200meters.

Mainly because it helps the team a little bit more if there is little defense at the point.
