Hi Midas please make us another video that will explain us about outputs and gain control in this split configuration so we will be able to understand how make the setup process thanks
The outputs are not controlled by the main console, ONLY the GAIN, i have 2 Midas and a DL32 stagebox if you want separate control of GAINS, use an analog splitter snake
THIS is what I was looking for. So in this scenario, I cannot set up a separate gain structure on the M32R, correct? Not without using a splitter snake as you suggest (and I assumed was the case)? And I would have to only map the inputs on the M32R to the stage box, but leave the outputs local and use those local outputs for the monitors?
@@scottcaldwell5806 exactly. This Eric guy with MIDAS should go into that, and mention that the head amps on the FOH console are SHARED, thus the issue with not being able to control your gains at your monitor console.
@@BjorgenEatinger If you are using the gain structure right, then the monitor side won't have to change the gain ;) There is a HA gain split function though, which give some form of gain control in form of trim at the monitor end.
@@BjorgenEatinger Yeah, It's called HA Gain split in Setup -> Preamps I believe. I cant check it out right now since the musictribe site is fucked up at the moment and I dont have the editing software here.
Alright guys, this is what I need to do but I can't find answers as to whether or not it's possible: We have M32R at FOH currently and DL32 backstage. Love the setup, but want to add M32C to be used as the monitor console. What I want, is to free up all 16 mixbusses on my FOH console, and instead use the processing/mixbusses on the M32C for monitors, but I need all my monitor mixes to come out of the DL32. If I do that, where do I output my LR buss from to go to the PA? Do I need to pickup a second DL32???
@@benedykt123313 The guy just asked a question! Just answer that if you can, no need to try and make you look smarter! You don't need to be what letters 5, 6 and 7 of your name spell out!
Our church has M32 and DL32 as well, and we want to setup in ear monitors for the musicians and vocalist. Can we get away without an additional on stage monitor?
Tried this in Cincinnati this weekend. But, I was trying to run my m32c/ dl32 as a IEM rack, and send to FOH(m32r). M32c to dl32 was on Aes50 A and ran Aes50 B to foh console. We set internal clock on foh to Aes50 B. No signal.
You want your IEMs coming from the DL32, right? And your mains from the M32R? That way you can control your IEMs with your m32c and still be able to control your mains (FOH mix) on your m32r. The only way to achieve this is to link the mixers directly. What I do is that I have my DL32 plugged into my x32 compact (which I use as monitor mixer) through AES50A and all my inputs go to there. Then I link this X32 Compact with my M32 via AES50B (since the "A" is being used with the DL32). I need to setup the routing correctly though. So, on the AES50B Output tab I make sure that I'm sending the correct channels. Then gotta do the routing on the M32 which is done on the Input tab. Of course, the M32 clock has to be set to whatever AES50 port you're using. I hope this makes sense.
Is there a way to do this WITHOUT the DL32? I noticed nobody answers any of the questions below, so I will probably not get a response, but it would be nice to know. Thank you.
The whole reason I like a separate monitor board is separate gain staging for monitors verses FOH. If they share the same pre amp and gain stage I do not see the point.
@@nobodysdarlingsband You should set the gain first to your foh and the stage console follows, you can still add more trims on stage as needed but that wouldnt affect the foh settings.

Yes, it is possible to connect 3rd console whether to MON, or FOH console by AES50 multichannel protocol. The thing to keep in mind - proper clocking of the whole system (there should be just one master clock unit).
what can i do to control all the channels if i connect a Midas 32r to the DL32 stagebox B into the A of the Midas 32r? Is it possible? Can i use a dante splitter to do so? or what options to i have? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have a question. If I have an IEM rack that contains a Midas M32C and a DL32, can I set it up to use the AES50 B to split to FOH instead of having an in rack splitter? I'm trying to build a fly rack and keep it as small as possible
Absolutely. You can receive the incoming signals from the DL32 and then simply send AES50A to AES50B which can be picked up by front of house. Monitors will have gain control to make sure you agree the gain level with FOH for a seemless gig.
So there is no way for your monitor console side stage to run monitors out of the stage box .. I can only seem to have them comming out of the console itself. Now I have to run another damn snake onto the stage or to my amp rack for monitors. Is there a solution
