Oliver Cromwell's family were on 30,000 quid a year so didn't need freebies. Not such a puritan when it came to cash apparantly!
He was one of poorest MP until he served and moved up iin the military. At 2000 for stay in Ireland. 4000 a year for win the battle Worcester. Plus land taken from te royalist. It was around 10,000 a year in 40s with much of that having to pay expense
They never are, either able to see or frugal they just expect others to be.
Time for change: Labour MP's with snouts in the trough instead of Tories. Marvellous !
Dont deter from the real problems, pensioners tax, smoking, £860000 house cap
I wonder if Sir Jimmy Saville left him some shell suits, sunglasses and a cigar.
He needs help buying his clothes fire retardant pants are expensive, and he really needs them
As a nurse we were always forbidden to accept gifts unless a long drawn out procedure was followed; even using a band aid was considered theft unless permission was obtained, and yet politicians, with their highly developed sense of entitlement see nothing wrong with accepting far more expensive "gifts" despite being paid far more than the average nurse. "What's wrong with that!" they exclaim shocked to the core.
I suppose we have to compare back handers and scandals, but Labour needs to be better.
Sorry, but the Tories are bigger bunch of C..... than Labour?
What a pity Lady S has deprived the media of the opportunity of callng her shabby, as they (not you) did with M Foot`s non-duffel coat at the Cenotaph. Still, at least they can blame Sir K for not solving all UK problems In less than The Trusspot`s 49 days. Outrageous.
When did the last member of Spinal Tap lose his hereditary peerage?
Incredible the first photo of the current millionaire in number ten smiling when he speaks to the masses looks very glum
Something I really mean is that this guy is worse than a Tory.
What even Tory Blair 😮
Graham Stuart re-paving his driveway in the expenses scandal, then using tax payers money to rip it back up when it became public knowledge.
There's a name for women who have their clothes bought by men who are not their husbands...
Also paying 25% tax on income of over £600K. How was that aceived.
Austerity for you, free glasses for me and free clothes for my wife. 😡🤮
South African BBQ is unacceptable. It's a Braai 😂
You have to have 3 legged cast iron pots over fires staying warm, loaded up with pap ( mieliepap maize meal staple of diet similar texture to Southern USA states grits), grilled sausages, lamb and mutton chops , beefsteaks and maybe some game from the grills... plenty of Lager, Klipdrift, and homemade pear or other brandy from the local farms
I hope i don't get locked up for this but has starmer never thought about actually getting a season ticket with his own money I'm leaving the country now😂
Starmer, like most political figures does not read the room, he is remote from reality.
I just became a Reform Member.
It's a GOOD MOVE😊
Good move from where! Deformed from reality 🎉
In support of hereditory Peers, i rather like the idea of people with a fundamental investment in the country having an influence in Parliament. Appointment of Peers by politicians simply encourages cronyism and, potentially, corruption!
You can’t be serious 😂You honestly believe that a way to challenge cronyism would be to allow wealthy landowners - who obviously can’t possibly be prone to political bias nor have agenda of their own - to be able to vote on legislation? They represent absolutely nobody but themselves, for heaven’s sake 😂
I guess you're a Monarchist too?
Who owns the Jewish chronicle, Flatley refuses to answer... Lord of the dance is involved?
Oh dear Private Eye questioning the PM they were despatate to get into no10😂..now do bbc bungs Hislop
I dread to think of the circumstances of this individual having any involvement in the decision not to charge Savile, when he was the head of the Crown Prosecution Service.
Apparently all the MPs avoid him in the bar.
Free Beer Kier.
CLOTHES!!!
I cannot believe the leader of a 1st world country is having clothes bought for them by another adult who isn't a member of their family
It could be worse...Jeffrey Epstein could have bought him clothes.
Can Lord Ali please buy my clothes too? Only because I want to look my best for you all.
During my working life, I was SEO of a Multinational. Many times gifts were delivered to my office or even worse my private address! I'm now retired sat in the sun every day and remember regually how, my partner and I refused to accept any gifts how ever small.
Just found this on you tube. I've lived in Morocco for years and I miss my Private Eye.I think the Labour mob are doomed! The corruption here is minor compared to the UK!Don't need my winter fuel allowance it's never cold here!!!!
Always nice, a sunny muslim dictatorship that sits confortably in the bad half of any list of most corrupt countries, where the king can appoint judges and bypass the parliament in political decisions. Sounds lovely.
Just more subtle here !
As Leader of the Opposition it was (apparently) "necessary" for Starmer to have the corporate facilities at various football grounds. Meanwhile, The PM at the time ... Sunak ... sat on the (normal) terraces at Southampton.
Not wanting to be a pedant or anything, but the Countess of Mar is still alive - she merely retired from the House of Lords.
Is there anyone in politics who is not on the gravey train?
We're all being taken for a walk 🙈🙊🙉
Is Johnson back? The brown paper bags pasted under the table
Starmer looks alot better with his new glasses. And his lady looks good too!
What lousy hypocrisy.
Come on Starmer, go for the motorist next, bring it on!
These are the first of the thousand cuts that will bring him down.
Does Starmer have any notion of how much damage he is doing to the Labour party, government and leadership. Starmer should not be accepting any freebies. Freebies for politicians is disgusting and corrupt plain and simple.
The weird thing is , I have heard Labour activists telling us how millionaire, big business friendly , city banker types that run the Conservatives have no idea about the daily struggles of the workers. Their party leader is a titled, multi millionaire from a wealthy family. He had to make tough decisions to save money. Cut payments to pensioners or cut pay increases to his union backers.
The price of one of those frocks was three months winter energy bills at a thermostat setting of 15 degrees.
Starmer!! Answer your bloody pager!
A former attorney general who lacks judgment…
Those "small amounts" add up to well over 100,000
Mrs Starmer is living her dream isn't she? Written all over her face. For an "NHS worker" it looks like she couldn't half wait to get her nose in the trough.
She doesn't seem the bed pan emptying type, NHS maybe? But a power position ,I'd guess.
He certainly styled it out! ( terrible pun 😂)
FREE GEAR KEIR
The house of lords debates over its own existence 😂
To
Quote Rayner, you wanted SCUM you got it.
We New Labour have NOTHING & were going to get the British Taxpayers to Help us give it to Everyone.
Thank you for the Photograph of the 2 Lovely Carbetbaggers.
Starmer clearly thinks the optics look good.
Bribery is the word.
