This game was unbelievable. Those demo ships were incredible, but from that point on it was an hour straight of tense action. There were absolutely astounding plays by both players. Cheeky hunting cabin in Viper's base, cheeky demo ships against bombards and massed lancers. Top players are so creative at times. One side was sure to win, then the other flipping back and forth the whole game. They must feel mentally drained after that level of concentration for that long. Props to both players, that has to be one of the greatest games AoE 4 will ever see.
Viper stole that game with bugged demo ships tho :'(
@@gungcharles2200 It is a pretty funny bug though. Those nuclear ships taking the entire navy (and army) out was pretty great. 10/10 would nuke again.
Demo ships are no joke they should have a large ass explosion but not that big hahaha

This is the most intense game and most professional casting of AOE4! This is on-par with Starcraft2 professional games.
AOE4 has a great chance to become a competitive RTS like SC2. I mean this was an hour of NON-STOP ACTION!
Props to Drongo for the phenomenal cast!

@@ghostgurl17 The game was released a month ago and if he can already cast this well, then all he need is practice. Besides all esports casters are biased for their favorite team or player from LoL, DOTA, Staracraft 2, to Overwatch to Fortnight
Casters will favor certain teams and players because some teams and players are just really good and make great memorable games.
It's like saying casters are biased towards Faker winning mid-lane in LoL. Faker is the best the world for many consecutive years; he earned that level of respect thru skill and making plays, shaping the Lol Meta each year, by being the GOAT. So I think it is fair for Drongo for favoring Viper for casting - Viper is literally to GOAT of AOE 2 and still top 50 in AOE 3 and currently some of the best play and shaping the current meta for AOE 4.
@@nellychingo2010 yes all casters has bias within their heart but they keep it "professional", I never said he cant improve, he could be the greatest caster ever for all we know, but not in this video, this was about this post about this particular video, keeping you vantage point on one player like 80% of the time (at minimum) isnt gonna be good in a professional scene where both sides have their own fan base. just look at how lowko cast sc games, hes biased yes but not to this extent, this looks more like obsession imo
Outside of naval unit combat this game has no micro. Not even close to SC2 or AoE2.

ctrl+shift+c to select all military
ctrl+shift+a to select ALL units (useful for selecting traders)
F1 for all military production buildings saves more lives imho
ctrl+a for all units on screen
ctrl+c for all military units on screen.
Useful for when leading multiple small battles in a similar area and want to pull back but not have ALL your units run there.
I never played AoE , I never watched AoE, even tough I know nothing about Age of Empires I recognize that this guys are playing like beasts and this is no ordinary match, and kudos to Aussie Drongo narrating the game for an hour non stop with same high tempo. I really enjoyed the match and watched it like I know the game

I actually like it myself. The trick with navy is that its needs to have a role against land to stay good and relevant. The ability for demo ships to hit the land means that water control is always important. Now perhaps the upgrade shoudl just increase the range and not damage as well, but I like that those shorelines need to be controlled

I thought AoEIV was a little on the boring side, short matches, often one sided and somewhat predictable. But this one match changed my mind. That match gave even AoEII legendary match ups and run for their money. Good vid.

I never thought I'd ever see the Viper fighting DeMuslim. Used watch DeMuslim's stream back in the sc2 days and then the Viper when I got interested in AoE2. Worlds collide.
Idk if it's been mentioned yet, but DeMuslim was a very good WC3 player back in its heyday, explaining the great performance. Great game, and I love how this game is garnering a lot of attention from all over RTSdom!
I'm surprised how even this was when considering viper's economy was double that of demuslim's for the majority of the game
That mostly comes down to unit composition and tech advantage. For most of the game Demuslim just had the better unit composition the Streltsy especially did most of the damage the knights where just there to hold the line while the bombards pushed the line forward and took out any defensive building viper had. Demuslim also researched certain key techs earlier than viper did, giving him an additional edge in the fights. Viper won a macro Victory here. He held on for dear live and managed to clean up his opponents forces faster than they could be replaced and the early map control on land viper also played its part.
Stretlsy and cheap bombards made up for that. If you cant make as much find ways to spend less
This is it...this is literally the best freaking game of all time and I wish I can get to a level of these two players in-game in the future!

Rus dominate late game water, and on land, they also are very strong with the right upgrades. Maxed lodya ships are op, the atack ships are so damm cost efective, and the trade/fishing ships also have loads of hp. But those demos, man that age 4 upgrade is well bugged
Imagine if Demos weren't bugged and Demuslim had put his markets at the very back of the map. Could've won it. Still GGWP.
I wonder how much the loss of Incendiary and anti-cannon frontal dmg reduction puts the Lodya back. Still likely great ships late game after all the upgrades are in.
The combo of cheaper bombards and Streltsy are hard to counter, the horse-archers pretty good as late game trash. And if you've got map control, a dozen or so well placed hunting cabins (~20 trees each) bring in almost as much gold as a fully stocked Regnitz. Viper had a hard time overcoming that army comp despite his eco and production.
DeMuslim grinded hard holy moly. Played against him 4 days ago and i lost and now hes up here. Also i played against him 3 times since launch and won twice and he improved by quite a lot
This is insanity, the game itself has been the craziest one I ever watched, but the commentary was from another dimension as well! Holy cow, you're crazy dude! I love it!

Reignitz was filled by ~12 minutes. so by the end of the game viper got over 43000 Gold out of it.

Most players quit this map as soon as you take control of water. The economic boost you get from the tradeships normally guarantees victory.

I dont really understand the Reddit argument that Drongo is "stealing" Vipers best games. Viper should absolutely upload these games, I'd personally love to see both Drongos analysis and Vipers POV, Id watch both.

Mirco is small quick fast choices, Marco is overall strategy with a bigger picture like making things easier not by speed of pressing buttons but directly which buttons have more value like picking the correct units or making enough production.

Even without bumping, it would be less than double the land trade income. Significant, definitely, but I doubt it was anywhere near his hunting cabin income. Would've loved to see the stats after the game.

Good game! But the only thing why Viper won after he lost the sea at start, is the demolition ship exploit. Demuslim just won this game in my eyes.

Fair! But the HRE is also chronically underpowered, especially in the late game against streltzy. The demos were a bit cheeky, but hardly seem unfair considering how much better the Rus are as a civ in the meta right now
The only thing why viper won, interesting remarc, like that entire 1h game was reduced to a few seconds fight... also with the army he had then he wouldn't have been able to close it anyway. Secondly he knew about the demos, his fault he came so close to the water...

Those demo ships were insane! 😂 the fact they could creep that far into the base had my laughing. All around great game from two amazing players. I have to say probably the most intense game I've seen so far. I thought viper was gonna tap out once or twice. Blown away he was able to turn it around. So fun watching the late game trades
I’m glad I’m not the only one who accidentally builds mining camps on tree lines every once in awhile 😅
The annoying thing is AoE2 default hotkeys are R for lumber camps and E for mining camps, but AoE4 is the reverse I think. Switching between games is annoying. Hotkeys are based on where they appear in the build screen. I would still make this mistake playing without playing both games.
