My Grandfather used to do this for me but I never paid attention. Now I have 4 Lounge Chairs that were blue and 4 chairs exactly like yours, red. My husband wanted to throw them all away because the webbing is all rotted but now I can fix them so they all match! Thank you so much for this simple tutorial!

This is EXACT tutorial I needed, as my chairs all have these clips, not the screw in type. Although, I noticed that you used the wrong size of webbing. It does come in 3" wide as well. Don't feel bad, I've done the same thing in the past, and the chair still preforms the same.

Thank you for the video.... You seem to have the same problem as I do. My current strap width is 2.75 in, but all I can find is either 2 or 3 inch width for replacement. Your blue replacement strap looks narrower than the original. Does a narrower strap change your comfort level in your chair?
I"m on a tight budget and have an old 3 seat porch swing. Do you think I could replace the material that holds the cushions with this? Is it hard to drill holes in the metal to attach the screws? Do you know of a video that would address this ?
It's probably not very hard to drill new holes. It depends on the metal though. Aluminum is a piece of cake to drill. Iron and steel tend to be harder but you don't need very big holes so it shouldn't be too hard. Unfortunately, I don't know of any videos that could help with your specific situation.
Question..how would I web a lawn rocker, that didn't have webbing on it, but rather had nylon cloth type material on it. But I would like to put webbing on it.

R. Price Glad you liked the video. If it were me, I'd try to make new armrests out of wood. Unfortunately, I don't know where you can buy replacements. Maybe someone else does?
+R. Price I have looked EVERYWHERE. No luck. Having wooden arms made sounds like a good idea to me. Else, only buy with wooden arm rests next. Wasted a lot of time on this. NO ONE seems to sell just the arm rests. Wooden set on ebay but 2 inches too short for me and I need 2 sets!
If your working on a budget or not really using your lawn chair for lawn decoration you should try using pool noodles cut to length and than wrapping them in place with duct tape.

You obviously have not done this,the clip orientation is correct.Sadly you are wrong,just did mine and those clips are installed the same as they are from the factory.
So, to use screws you just fold it over? Ummm...maybe mention you need something sharp to poke a hole through the material because most screws are flat tipped. I found this video useless.

Sadly, you got the clips BACKWARDS! The hook has to turn the other way so it won't pull out. This makes it much harder to install. Look again......

Yes the first clip was backwards. It is suppose to grip against the metal as to not fall out with pressure. It does make it more difficult.
What I don't like about it is that the new webbing is narrower. I wouldn't replace webbing because it was faded

I have a question how much webbing should you use to make sure it's long enough say I need 15 in.should I add 1 more in to insure long enough
I'd add and extra 6 inches, 3 inches on each side due to overlapping and folding under.

@@francinecorry633 , it was incorrect! Otherwise the clip just comes out. The 30* should be against the metal to grip against it.
Nylon webbing lasts far longer than polypropylene.
There are no good videos on this. Dealing with the clips is glossed over in this video. Not very helpful.
