I just looked and I'm geared 30p/39s for the small yards I bash. If I'm really hard off an on power it can get warm, but the hobbystar 980 runs really well in the o8s. I wounder if the newer max5 would make a difference 🤔 I know I'd love to try the the new 800kv 12s hobbying motor with there new max5 also. All tho I think the system now in its plenty. 😊😂

I will stick with the hobbystar 980kv motor an older max5. I just ran it for 30mins strait an it's don't get to hot and has all the power a guy needs to do about anything with he truck. I run 2 powerhobbys 8s 5000mah 100c packs I'm my o8s and it runs so good an plenty of time. Love it.
Have you tried the new max5 g2 esc with the 980kv? I have one I. My os8 exb roller but have it geared 33/39 stock tires and stock esc settings. Sometimes it has a slight hesitation and cog but was not sure if I should try a xlx2 with the 980kv to see if there is a noticeable difference. I sold a brand new max5 g1 to get a max5 g2 and I feel I might not be getting the best performance.What do you think try a xlx2?
That's my "Truggifed XL" Typhon 😍. She's got wider Mojave arms, links, and dog bones with Kraton hexes, hubs, and stub axels. Makes for a nice stable stance and allows bigger 2.8 wheels. 🍻
I'll link you to the XRT M2C mount. Gearing for the 1260kv will depend partly on wheel size, but 30/46 would probably work. @richduperbash2966 the rtr electronics are are updated and has a "big block" motor. It's only 40 dollars more currently than the standard 8s models making it 1k like the xmaxx
@@philwebb606 I use 30 lb rated Gorilla mounting tape on my camera and reinforce it to the shell with strips of Gorilla tape. Best to remove the camera from the mount and just stick it directly to the shell.
Good stuff, and super helpful as always! In respect to body reinforcement, I recently did a set up using silicone to glue 2 bodies together, with a layer of mesh tape in between. So far it has been holding up amazing well, I have it on my MT410 and it has taken a beating. Probably not as tough as a Basher Bodies shell, but cool because you can use any body you want. No it's perfect with proper gearing. Way faster than stock or EXB RTR power. Anything below 800 is too low, really limits gearing options for good top speed.

the new 800kv is too big to fit in the outcast 8s you have to use the old 800
@@chrisharris3023we're testing a gen 2 M2C steering rack that clears the new motor. Still wise to file the top plate, but not essential to clear it.
The 980kv is a Beast Mike 😱. I'm more than happy with the current power on hand. That said, guys will go 12s with the new system 🤙🤙

I doubt it. Not sure, but it looks like an EXB with RTR electronics and new colors. Don't have anything to say about it beyond that 🤗

I keep breaking the pins on the dogs bones outdrive driveshafts. M2C beefcakes on my 2ed set and they are broke now.
