- Project update video for this 1/6th scale Armortek RC German WWII King Tiger heavy tank model. This build is for Private commission and belongs to a private collector. The model was procured by the customer in a virgin state and was sent to me for the full construction.
This build video is part of a series that will have continual updates until the end of the project at it's completion.
In this video I describe the work that went into the recoil system, and the model is taken out for it's second test drive.

I like tha clatter of the tracks, sounds cool, almost like a real one. Who needs sound cards? ha ha.
I really enjoy all the build videos but lately i have been enjoying the old tank repair episodes that you have been doing, i binge watched them all within a few days because i got really into them.
wow that turret is huge
and heavy!
@@oddball759mm i bet
Excelente trabajo, felicitaciones..
So cool
Good work very nice model welljell .
Super Modell das klappern musst aber beseitigen . 👍
Too bad I'm retired , would love to build one
Retirement is a pipe dream for anyone not a boomer. The boomer generation offshored, outsourced every living wage job or occupation in America. Retirement must be rough 🙄 whaaa
@John Berry forced retirement after knee replacement. Couldn't climb ladders or stairs with a 50 lb tool bucket. Basically told by supervisor that he couldn't make exceptions for anyone who couldn't do the job. Glad I left now it opened up a job for younger people that as what I've heard already got fired because he couldn't leave the drugs alone. This country is a joke now with all of the woke druggies!
At which scale does a model stop being a model? 2/1? J/k. Great work as always.
The amour is at scale!!!
It cuts the grass too!!!🤣
add a .50bmg to that and its perfect
That annoying grass just dove in there lol
Absolutely superb, I envie you I would love to have/work on a vehicle of this scale.
I have several highly modified 1/16 scale tanks but not a patch on a 1/4 1/6 scale.
if your looking for an affordable RC tank in 1/6, get the 21st century M5A1. They are still affordable and can be polished into something nice. You will need to revise the electronics as the stock ones really show their age but the gearboxes have proven to be pretty reliable, slow but reliable. The track always was a ding but spyker sells a nice set that drops in and looks 100% better.
Damn even the armor plating for the king tiger is seemingly thick hope you dont have an underpowered constantly failing heavy engine on it :)
John, why don’t you use Velcro, vs. the silicone to mount the control box?
I use to use Velcro in the past for mounting electronics, and I found that every time the adhesive would fail as the model ages, and the part would just flop around. So the Silicone was used in it's place as it does a better job
Did the bent pin break a part of the link? Bcs it looks like it did from the video
yes it did, and I swapped it out after the filming
What sound kits are usually in these? Im looking for a sound kit for my rebuild of a 1/6 M5 but all the sound kits I find are 2s limited, I need 3s. Thanks
the sound cards used on the armortek kits are from Benedini sound systems
@@oddball759mm Thanks, Ill look into those
@@ccdbcvtrider1 good luck with your build
I noticed when your pin bent it broke the end of the track it was going through. Do you have spares?
yes, plenty. This was also fixed in the videos that came after this one
With right and left motors, straight going easy?
yes, it's very easy
how come you didn't ride around on it?
It's not big enough
That's huge 😬 how's the weight of this beast?
about 300 - 400 lbs
Ok....who of you tankers out there didn't take one look at the space inside that turret and thought:" I can fit a .22 caliber rimfire rifle into that space....!"
What type is the turret, pre-production or production?
My understanding it's the production
Can i buy it how much its cost?
this one is being built for a customer so no, it's not for sale
If you want it to be even more accurate, make it break down every two hours.
We never seen a red king tiger matey. That is not exactly accurate in tank camouflage accuracy.
Aren't most german tank of the time all came in "Primer red" before being painted with dark grey/dark yellow base coat? I remember there are picture of a so call "final production" ferdinand with this red color and a bunch of white grafiti on the side.
Rich kids playing gi joe
..."COMMO WIRE" (thick grass) is the DEATH of a tanks running gear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
"Reoil" system! What the fuck is that?
