I like to imagine Phelous travelling the world Indiana Jones-style to find these obscure regional bootlegs; visiting dusty old shops in murky back alleys... raiding bargain bins in Argentina... sneaking into secret storage sites in Hong Kong... all to bring 'em back to the Bootleg Zones.
Yeah, but unlike Indy who replaced a precious artifact with a bag full of sand Phelous has to replace a crappy bootleg action figure with a legit MastersoftheUniverse in order to prevent the giant stone ball from running over him
I can't stop watching Baltard being eaten by the T-Rex in the background at 13:15. :D I love Bootleg Zones. Never thought I'd be interested in bootleg action figures but your skits are hilarious.
I know I'd love to enter Phelan's "galaxy hole," if you know what I mean. Do you know what music he uses in all his various review videos? Would really love to know so I can look it up on the internet!
@jbiehlable lm sorry it just bothers me.....my first love was my cousin......we are both boys......we were both consenting, and neither of us gave a shit about the "incest," thing in fact we liked it......if you as a person don't like the idea that's fine I don't care it's just if someone else IS into it it shouldn't be ok to talk like that about them, as long as they are not reproducing it's fine and it's none of your business.......like I said before, people used to talk like that about gay people and YES THATS NOT OK.......so why aren't people like me afforded the same courtesy?!?!
After over 3 years of these videos I felt like I had a decent grasp on the galaxy hole in general... and then suddenly long arm versions are a thing. It really is never ending.
This could've been a whole series of tough guy toys. Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, Lee Marvin, James Coburn, Robert Redford, Charles Napier, Jack Palance, Robert Mitchum. I mean, nobody would've fucking bought that, but still, could've been nice.
Honestly, that's actually a really cool concept as far as bootleg toylines from the 80's go. I know I'm not setting the bar too terribly high there, but still. It's an ungainly pastiche of He-Man, Terminator, and G.I. Joe and it's just cheesy and retro enough to work.
I'm pretty sure the sculpt with the longer hair and mustache is supposed to be Chuck Norris. And I think the one all in green is supposed to be his character Braddock from Missing In Action III And yeah, the Arnold one is definitely supposed to be John Matrix from Commando
Pretty sure the more blatant "Arnold" figure is using a shot from Predator on the card, not Terminator. Could be predator, but the pose looks more like the Commando poster. He wasn't holding a flame thrower in that one though. Could be that they actually redrew the image.
Yeah, they're going for Terminator, but not using any art from it. Still not sure where they pulled that image from though. Has to be redrawn from something.
Sahak n' Anubi would be a great buddy cops spin-off, imagine that, two warriors from an alternate dimension end in our time, and are ordered by the higher-ups to...shoot everything in sight
Considering Captain Action's chief gimmick is that you can swap his clothes to have him cosplay as different superheroes, OF COURSE he's going to tie into the Galaxy Hole at some point. CA and Mego clothes are integral parts of blow-molded 12-inch figure bootlegs.
Bootleg Zones! As hilarious as always! But it's been a long time a Disney Knock-Off was covered. I highly recommend 1.: Lucky Mouse/Mouse & Friends by Winner, 2.: Mighty Muscle Goofe and 3. (Because of the Winnie the Pooh Knock-Offs): Bear of the Interest.
I like to sing the Frankenhole theme song but with "Galaxy Hole" *Beyooond space and time* *Stranger than the sooooul* *Is the world... deep inside the Galaxy Hooole*
Not a particularly bad set of bootleg figures either - however, if I get a hold of one of the guys, I'd probably make some alterations to make them less-MOTU and more modern-day action hero figures.
this preview for the next power ranger super ninja steel is just weird. i dont remember the galaxy warrior stage being so orange before and where is cosmos?
I like to imagine Phelous travelling the world Indiana Jones-style to find these obscure regional bootlegs; visiting dusty old shops in murky back alleys... raiding bargain bins in Argentina... sneaking into secret storage sites in Hong Kong... all to bring 'em back to the Bootleg Zones.
atomicdancer I would pay money to see a movie like this.
It's not as exciting to think about people sitting around on eBay. ;)
Yeah, but unlike Indy who replaced a precious artifact with a bag full of sand Phelous has to replace a crappy bootleg action figure with a legit MastersoftheUniverse in order to prevent the giant stone ball from running over him
so...the american version of "ashens and the search for the gamechild?"
Thomas Jenkins nope the Canadian version
Despite the obvious Terminator influence, the drawing of Schwarzenegger looks like it was taken straight from the cover of Commando.
I can't wait for the Galaxy Warrior Cinematic Universe!
i just want to see live action baltard.
Wasn't there a comic book adaption of the nonsense that is turtly gang? (After the fact)
BALTARD!!!
at the end of the first movie, you HAVE to tease Bat Hero
I'd like that more than the Marvel universe
I love how that no matter how many repaints these figures have, they can not escape the He-Man trunks.
The Bootleg Zones theme always makes me smile.
I can't stop watching Baltard being eaten by the T-Rex in the background at 13:15. :D I love Bootleg Zones. Never thought I'd be interested in bootleg action figures but your skits are hilarious.
Yesss, I've been waiting so long for the return to the Galaxy Hole. Thank you, Phelous.
Lichtenhammer But Baltard!
Is completely useless now.
I know I'd love to enter Phelan's "galaxy hole," if you know what I mean.
Do you know what music he uses in all his various review videos?
Would really love to know so I can look it up on the internet!
'Action Captain vs. Baltard: Dawn of Sungold' needs to be a thing.
Shouldn't these guys be in Miracle In Toyland?
wstine79 They don't deserve to be in any cheap mock busters.
I'm surprised Super Duper Guy made it to script, let alone final
If Golden Films did action movie ripoffs...
@jbiehlable you know.....people used to say "........blegh...." when talking about gay people......just food for thought
That 'Arnold' Head is clearly just Vince McMahon. "Sungold- you're fiiired!!!"
Who agrees that the ending gags are the best part of bootleg zone .😁👌
Galaxy Warriors: End of Time: The Last Battle sounds awesome! It sounds like it's some epic final movie in the Galaxy Hole franchise XD
That Bronson figure looks more like Sonny Bono.
And Arnold looks like Vince McMahon!
Temmie Plays! Sunny Bone head.
*I GOT YOU BABE*
Makes me wish there was a line of Action Captain villain figures. Sonny's nemesis could be a mutant tree monster.
After over 3 years of these videos I felt like I had a decent grasp on the galaxy hole in general... and then suddenly long arm versions are a thing. It really is never ending.
Phelous, you’re the best. Got my brother onto your videos. He hasn’t looked back. Ha.
I come for the review and stay for the "playing" at the end.
One of them looks a lot like Sonny Bono
My first thought. How disappointing to find buff Sonny Bono in your stocking.
The end skits are always my favorite part of these videos.
That's clearly Commando. Or Predator. Terminator is only in the text.
Kimi FW was thinking the samething
This could've been a whole series of tough guy toys. Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, Lee Marvin, James Coburn, Robert Redford, Charles Napier, Jack Palance, Robert Mitchum. I mean, nobody would've fucking bought that, but still, could've been nice.
Pretty sure theirs no chance in hell, they wouldn't have been sued if they did that.
Ah, yes. Bootlegers are well known for their respect of the law.
True, but there is a difference between copyrighted characters and real people. What your suggesting is actually far more illegal.
They'll never catch 'em bootleggers alive!
I like Steve McQueen.
Honestly, that's actually a really cool concept as far as bootleg toylines from the 80's go. I know I'm not setting the bar too terribly high there, but still. It's an ungainly pastiche of He-Man, Terminator, and G.I. Joe and it's just cheesy and retro enough to work.
8:48 Am I the only one who sees David Schwimmer?
nope, i wondering who that looked like. thanks.
A bit, kinda? I immediately thought it looked a bit like John Travolta.
That flat top Arnold looks more like a beefy Tim Allen.
Terrific job on this video! Great Arnold Schwarzenegger impression. Very cool action figures. You always find strange treasures!
Charles Bronson as He-Man would've been the greatest thing ever.
I'm impressed that Phelous has managed to keep his sanity while investigating all these bootleg toys.
Arnold Stallone! And Chuck Bronson!
Is it just me or does the "Arnold" head look more like a cross between Al Pacino and David Schwimmer?
Ross sure has buffed up since Friends ended.
Baltard and Bat-Hero are two of the best characters
The Terminate and Destroy figure on the left says "SUPER-ERO!"
So Action Captain is into HENTAI...?
So is there a Galaxy Hole version of Judge Dredd? I mean they used this mold for pretty much everything so why not?
Phelous is almost at 100 episodes of Bootleg Zones! I hope he covers Turtles Fighters again! Or some other TMNT knockoff.
marplatense31 But what?
Huh?
marplatense31 I don't know... I just asked that question.
Maybe he could cover City Commander, among the first 3P Transformers.
Or maybe.... the Sense of Right Alliance!
I had that green Charles Bronson bootleg , it was my first action figure back in the 80's. Somehow I dont know why I called it "Anita Krushev" :P
I don't know, moustache man's face is giving me more of a Burt Reynolds vibe than a Charles Bronson one...
Bronson guy kinda reminds me of "Biomenace"-game protagonist.
Snake Logan! :D
the opening sounds of bootleg zone looks good to my ears it is a harmony 👾
Yay! Now I get to be the guy to say that its not called a "clip" but instead a "magazine"!
I tried reading that magazine later once I knew what it truly was. Didn't get a lot out of it.
@@phelous did it reach number 1 in the sales charts ... with a bullet?
@13:49 Crew or equipment visible.
I don't know why, but together with the Dingo reviews, these videos are the best! I love it.
I'm pretty sure the sculpt with the longer hair and mustache is supposed to be Chuck Norris. And I think the one all in green is supposed to be his character Braddock from Missing In Action III
And yeah, the Arnold one is definitely supposed to be John Matrix from Commando
Matt H the hair is too dark for Norris. And the facial hair is wrong for that time period
I've seen action figures with the Remco Toys marking that use the bodies of the Galaxy Warriors
14:37 foreshadowing? To be continued....
In 6 months
ACTION CAPTAIN-!
Look like the happiest dude on the planet.
Pretty sure the more blatant "Arnold" figure is using a shot from Predator on the card, not Terminator. Could be predator, but the pose looks more like the Commando poster. He wasn't holding a flame thrower in that one though. Could be that they actually redrew the image.
I'm sure it's supposed to evoke a few films, Terminator is just the most prevalent on the card.
Isn't what Phelous dubbed "metal skull" the way the Predator saw and analysed him ? Or am I misremembering that ?
No, the way the predator saw his face was more a heat signature of the human skull.
Yeah, they're going for Terminator, but not using any art from it. Still not sure where they pulled that image from though. Has to be redrawn from something.
5:30 is there an episode that talks about the guy on the right? That god bomber armor demands an explanation
There will be.
Ominous
Nothing I wanted more as a kid in the 80’s than my very own Charles Bronson from Death Wish action figure.
Looks more like Jean Claude Van Damme on the card back than Arnold to me.
Yeah, I could see that.
The Van Dammenator.
And deeper and deeper still the Galaxy Hole goes.
I watch all your videos, but the Galaxy Hole ones are my favourite.
Sahak n' Anubi would be a great buddy cops spin-off, imagine that, two warriors from an alternate dimension end in our time, and are ordered by the higher-ups to...shoot everything in sight
Am I the only one who sees Tim Allen in the Arnold figure's face?
Yeah, I do. He's somewhere between Tim Allen and Harrison Ford. He also kind of reminds me of David Schwimmer.
bigevilworldwide1 I see a bit of John Travolta in the "Arnie" face, and the other one just looks like Mexican He-Man with a 70s 'stache.
To me it's Steve from Married With Children
@Dunes8 MY SANDWICH?!
@bigevilworldwide1 yeah I was thinking Vince McMahon head has been used
Where's my Reb Brown action figure?!
The pixilated explosion reminds me of a similar thing on GI Joe cards, so they might have got that from there.
Action Captain V.S Action Man
after all the things I've heard you say about guns in your reviews I knew you were having him hold the magazine on purpose.
I just wonder when they'll add Action Captain to Broforce
Yes! This!
Nice Duck Hunt nod at the end.
Huh, I was sure Ah-nold and Baltard were gonna end up friends. You got me, Phelous.
The red-haired Action Captain kinda looks like Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho...
"Arnold" looks more like Vince McMahon.
Action Captain? Huh? I didn't know there were bootlegs of the Last Action Hero figures that Ashens took a look at sometime ago...
watch out for its twin: Captain Action
My god. The galaxy black hole leaves nothing untouched, huh? Everything is a part of it. TMNT, wrestling, action movies, kinda star wars, he-man...
Action Captain sounds like something it would name a typical action hero film or something. xD
"With Action Mustache!"
The terminator looking art work looks like it was taken from the Commando movie cover.
Could you do a review of the TMNT 2012 "Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady" special
I guess your wish came true!
I like to sing the Frankenhole theme song but with "Galaxy Hole"
*Beyooond space and time*
*Stranger than the sooooul*
*Is the world... deep inside the Galaxy Hooole*
The galaxy hole will never end. It is bottomless. It is eternal. It'll outlive us all.
The Baltard Hunt Bit.
PERF.
Could you imagine the horror letting these two into/out of the cupboard from "Indian In The Cupboard?"
The type 1 art reminds me of a super ripped emilio estevez
That's almost as creative as "Monster"!
Hell yes! We venture even deeper into the galaxy hole! We're all Baltard here. Baltarder and Baltarder.
3:36 walkie talkie looks like an enlarge bootleg of GI JOE Firefly's walkie talkie
I hope one day Phelous will review G.I. Joe Bootlegs! 💥🔫
13:16 .. Is Baltard RKOing that dinosaur?
Charles Bronson He-Man? I NEED IT!
At least...
New head Molds!
Did he just say "he's holding it by the clip"???
Dang, if he had waited one more day to upload it, then it would’ve been exactly 2 years since the Muscle Warriors episode!
The Arnold one kind of looks like Tim Allen.
imagine if he was mistaken for joel osteen, instead.
Where the various background pieces from?
2:48 top left looks like sheamus like if you agree
The pixelated explosion seems like some Gi joe cards
Not a particularly bad set of bootleg figures either - however, if I get a hold of one of the guys, I'd probably make some alterations to make them less-MOTU and more modern-day action hero figures.
this preview for the next power ranger super ninja steel is just weird. i dont remember the galaxy warrior stage being so orange before and where is cosmos?
I'd kill to have that Arnold and Baltard figures and playing with Baltard as the Predator...
Yay! Bootleg Zones!
I missed bootleg zones and the Galaxy Hole
Maybe the figures arms were changed to avoid law or is that too late
I have a question for all who read this. Which was better MK conquest, or Defenders of the realm?
Conquest no contest.
Well, Conquest did feature the greatest Mortal Kombat character.
Depends on if you enjoy it for being good (conquest) or if you enjoy it for being laughably bad.
I have a soft spot for these low budget reallife fantasy series, so conquest.
Conquest. It's more funnybad, and less actually bad than DOTR.
Aside from Schwarzenegger, I'm also seeing a resemblance to Jim Shooter, who used to work for Marvel
I now need an action captain Baltard.
You're a funny line, Action Captain. I'll review you last.
Harrison Ford + Van Damme, right? I think so.
why do i want to see phelous do a cross over with ashens
I'd buy purely for the Bronson resemblance.
