First, no no on the front load washer. At Christmas, I make over 100 homemade enchiladas, 3 different ones. We have a Mexican feast and make enough for everyone to have leftovers. I’m 74 now and just finished cancer treatments. My granddaughter has taken over the enchilada making for me. It’s so wonderful having all my family here. This year, we had our first great grandchild with us. I’m so blessed.
I make my mashed potatoes close to the same way but one thing I do differently is to roast the garlic in its skin with a little drizzle of olive oil salt and pepper - in the oven. The cloves become soft and you can actually just squeeze it directly into the potatoes and smash it in along with the warm cream and butter! It’s amazing!
Nope, no, on the front load washers. I despise them! Top loaders only! I so agree!
Top load for sure !! We have one with no agitator right now and works great .
The only good washer is a top loader from the year 2000 or before! All other are made cheap and break down so quick!
I totally agree. I’ve heard so much on the front load ones how they get moldy, etc. I love my top loader by Whirlpool!👍
Was B folding the laundry as he puts it into the washer??
And will never have another front load washer again!
Nope, top load only with agitator!
We have decided to do a breakfast / brunch this year in memory of our brother who passed last January. He absolutely loved breakfast.
You can get the pedestals for the washer and dryer
I have pedestals for my set
So does my daughter, but I am top load.@@CarlaWesolek
I prefer the top load, never had the front load. If your having problems with your knees now, just wait till you get to be 70, I am having problems getting down then getting back up. Never get another front load. Love the hair style.❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️
I usually invite all the couples and singles in the neighborhood who don't have family nearby to Christmas dinner. I've served ham, prime rib, lamb shanks, cioppino, stuffed pork loin, and short rib pasta-not all at the same dinner. Oh, and a lobster dinner one year. It's so much fun, and everyone has a great time.
WOW girlfriend!! Can we come hahaha?!!
I recently learned I was using WAY too much laundry detergent and so are you Bunky! For a large load of laundry 1/4 cup of detergent is plenty. The laundry detergent companies have tricked us with those lids and lines!
I had a front loader and didn’t care for them at all. I gave it away and bought myself a top loader. Too, I LOVE videos like this. They’re real life, things that people really do talk about. You two are awesome! ❤
My husband, daughter and I spend Christmas together and after church we will snack and for dinner we are making Philly cheese steak. We spend a lot of time at church during Advent so we are ready to chill.
I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but I had the front loaders for about 8 years and we switched back to top loader WITH the agitator two years ago and I will NEVER go back. I love it so much better. I switched nothing but the washer (the dryer is still great so we still have that one), and the clothes are cleaner and I use less detergent, which we did not change. 😊
Lol question, why is Bunky folding his clothes before he puts them in the washer? Love you guys! 🙏💙♥️🐾
Hahahaha you know how he is! I don't get it either, but that's just the way he has always done it🤣
My son does the same thing, can't figure it out😮@@jessicaodonohue
@jessicaodonohue love it!
I do that too..and if u shake the pants out, fold them at the seams like u would hang them up,lay then folded once in the dryer..do she pants like this but lay the opposite way of the previous pair and fold your shirts and lay in the dryer they will come out with a lot less wrinkles and the pants look like they have been ironed!
@@cheriwhitley8385 I did hear that about the dryer but not the washer.
Top load 100% for me.
We do turkey and fixings at Thanksgiving but snack stuff at Christmas. Meat and cheese platters, sausage cheese balls, cheese dip and other dips.
Christmas Day with our family is super easy. We order sub tray from Publix, crock pot meatballs, chips and dip, Greek salad, sausage balls. Christmas cookies and cake. Our special Christmas punch. Easy and relaxing.
I have had both kinds of washers. I prefer a top load washer simply because I always forget to throw something in after I start the laundry and you cannot add anything else once the front load starts
Our Christmas Eve dinner is an Italian dinner. Christmas morning we have breakfast casseroles. One savory, with sausage & eggs and one with cinnamon breading it. Christmas evening is typically ham, collard greens and some other sides. 😋❤️ The next month is diet time!! 😂
On Christmas Day our kiddos and 2 grands come for Dinner around 3PM.. Our Tradition is Beef Lasagna , steak lasagna , chicken spaghetti with a yummy salad and homemade dressings.. Of course we have garlic bread.. Then we have grape salad , apple spice cake, pecan pie and coconut pie.. To top it off we have boiled custard …
I have a large capacity LE washer and I love it. When I had front load Bosch I loved them too. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. You need to get a built in riser with drawers to set your machines on. It’s the only way. You need to only put in a little bit of soap every load. You’ll ruin your washer the more you put in. It’s working overtime.
Top load for sure with no agitator in the middle are the best. And there is no need for a full cap of laundry soap.
funny....I miss the agitator in my top load. For my next washer I want a Speed Queen!!
We have a GE all in one. It’s soooo nice to just put the laundry in the machine, come back a couple of hours later and it’s washed and dried! Highly recommend.
As for Christmas meals, we do a Raclette meal for Christmas Day. The prep is easy and everyone cooks their own food. Our family has grown so we have two table top Raclette grills now. I will cube steak and chicken and marinade them in various marinades. I’ll also spice up some smoked sausage and we will have shrimp. I’ll roast some diced potatoes in the oven, slice up some veggies like peppers, onions, zucchini, etc. I’ll have a variety of cheeses to choose from and we will all sit around the table and cook our food! It’s nice and slow, allows time for lots of conversation, and my kids love it. They’re all adults now and it’s been fun exposing their significant others to our tradition!!!
Had a front load washer before and I must say I prefer…as I get older…the top load for sure. But not only that, I just find the top loads better all around.
As for Christmas dinner…kids come over Christmas Eve for finger foods, a pool game or two and maybe a movie. I also do Santa sacks for them to open. Christmas Day is different now because they have their own little families and they do Christmas mornings at their places then we do our family gift exchange and meal later in the day. Our Christmas meal is definitely turkey with all the trimmings. Once in awhile we might add in a baked ham but not always. Of course here in Canada we have our Thanksgiving in October so there’s more time between turkey meals 😊. Also, where I live in the maritimes, lobster, scallops and crab are very popular!! Merry Christmas!! ❤
Turkey and ham with all the fixings and goodies for Thanksgiving. Mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans with mushrooms and bacon, broccoli casserole, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, shrimp cocktail, dinner rolls, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, homemade dressing, and I usually have nuts in the shells for a snack which we also put some out for our squirrels! Christmas is Prime rib and lots of the same sides etc as Thanksgiving and cookies but this year I only did Steak and baked potatoes and green beans. Plus cherry and pecan pie. My daughter in law brought some cookies!
Top load washer, speed queen only! The very best!
Welcome back! Happy to see yall! Yall always bring me so much joy!🫶🏼
I love Speed Queen too!!!! The best.
We do a Smorgasbord that includes each person’s favorite food, foods we only eat at Christmas like 7-Up Salad, and a food we might not like. For example, pickled pigs feet, duck, caviar, etc. It’s always fun and interesting. This year we’ll be having Stone Crab, sushi, and candied bacon among other things. My mom’s mom started the Smorgasbord tradition when my mom was little, 73 years ago. Merry Christmas!!!🎄🎁
Team top load! I am impressed that Bunky neatly folds the dirty clothes before gently placing them in the machine 😁
Top load washer. Speed Queen to be exact, no problems ever just clean clothes!!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Love the shaken black tea!❤❤❤❤❤
Like Bunky, I’m not good with peeling garlic, but I recently got a ‘silicone garlic tube thingy’ (technical term) that is AMAZING! You put the garlic in it and roll it on the counter. The garlic skin comes off so easy! I’ll never do it any other way.
Ok a couple of things. First, NO in the front loading washer. We do not have one but we do have an almost 30 year old fridge with a bottom door freezer… pain in the knees now that we are pushing 60! lol second please share with us what the “good” parm was and where to get it? I never know which is which 😢 last… TFS, yall are so special. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Oh PS…😂 we are doing something totally different this year for Christmas dinner, Tacos!!! They are my daughter’s favorite and we said what the heck!! ❤😂
If anyone else has some recommendations for the “good” parm, I would love to hear them!!
I love front loader washers and dryers. I am in a wheelchair and it makes things easy for me. Bunkies, if u just set your milk/heavy cream out on the counter and use softened butter your potatoes will not be gummy
Y’all are so cute! ❤ Hair looks good! Idk what we’re doing Christmas food wise. We missed Friendsgiving bc our amazing friend amazing cook was sick :( So I think me, my son and neighbors are doing Christmas dinner. Yay!! There will be ham, turkey ( my Texas butt wants brisket 😂😂) lots of sides, amazing baked goods.. but most importantly a lot of love 💕 ❤💕❤️ Wishing y’all a very Merry Christmas!!!
You two are THE cutest!
We’ve always had a top loaded washing machine, our daughter had a front one loader, I’ll take my top loader. Thanks guys. Love y’all and your videos.
I have a front load washer and dryer and I bought the drawers, that lift the machines up, and you have storage under the machines.
AWSOME
Will make a world of difference.
This dish is so delicious!! Thank you so much for sharing!
I love my front loaders! 🤭. I sort laundry in the bins (towels, whites, delicate, & dark). None of which I delicately place in washer! In standing position, I put oxyclean & wash detergent sheets (you should try them!) in first, then throw in all the clothes that are in the bin (some might have been pre sprayed for extra dirty) into the washer. I sometimes add Clorox 2 in washer dispenser. Close the door, and I’m off. Hint, don’t close door when not in use! I’m 5’3” and shrinking, I have stacked units. My husband used to do laundry (bin based! He didn’t have a clue otherwise) so, he didn’t have any problems reaching things in top dryer…. I on the other hand, sometimes have to use an equalizer to grab things out of dryer! Longevity… I have had a front loader for over 28 years (same one). Prior to that we had a top loader(from prior marriage) which had to be replaced within 10-12 years. At which point I bought the front loaders……. I’ve had these ever since…. My husband has passed, I do struggle a bit getting things out of dryer, but, never have issues putting in or transferring from washer to dryer.
You guys are cute!
Thats sooo much laundry soap!! I use a shot glass!
I have front load washer and dryer and they are on pedestals. I don’t have any issues with them. I have changed to the sheets for laundry detergent and am really pleased.
Top load washer! Bunky...I prefer the hair longer....I thought it looked terrific when you went in for the haircut. For Christmas dinner this year I'm surprising my Maryland husband with a feast of seafood delivered from Maryland. He will be so surprised and I can't wait.
Top load!
We have finger foods Christmas Eve and it was my grandpa’s tradition wayyyyyy back to make homemade pizza and cream puffs. We do that sometimes but we change it up. This year we are having Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, broccoli, rolls and pie.
I had a front load washer and hated it!! Never going back. My issue was it would get moldy in the front due to the water sitting there, so I would wipe the water with a rag to try and prevent that and that was just an extra step I didn’t want to do
We do prime rib.
We sometimes do surf/turf for Christmas. Prime Rib or beef tenderloin and baked stuffed shrimp
Only top loaders. I have had no end of issues with front. We do big appetizers on Christmas Eve. Shrimp, crab dip, etc. On a Christmas Day we always have beef tenderloin with merlot mushrooms, homemade horseradish, red bliss mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.
Girl!! That sounds SOOOO good!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks for bringing us entertaining videos throughout the year.
Looking forward to seeing Sunny again.
You should tell Bunky that the easiest way to peel garlic is to cut the ends of each clove, then crack the clove with the flat edge of the knife (just lay the flat side of the knife on the clove and put enough pressure to just break it a bit). After that, the peel just comes right off. Love your videos. You guys are so much fun and the recipes are great. Happy Holidays!
I agree that front load machines are harder as you get older.
I had a front load washer for the past 13 years and I can’t wait to get a new top load
Same😅We are looking forward to that day as well haha!
I have had both top load and front load I have a top load now and I love it
Had a front load washer and dryer and I hated it now I’m back to my top load washer
We’ve had front load and top load. We get our clothes really dirty having livestock and working on equipment. The front load doesn’t get the clothes as clean. Will only ever have top load with agitators from now on.
Top load washers > Front Load. Everyone i know with front load always complain about how they smell like mildew after a while. Plus I am with Bunkey - i don't want to have to bend down or get down on my knees to load / unload it
My husband feels so amazing after seeing the guys at the barber shop! Looks good too! It's cool for men to have their tribe! It's essential let's be honest! Thanks Bunkeys...blessings friends!
Top Load washers only. Bunky the colics you need to leave a little longer or they stand straight up. Christmas eve we always do Pizza since we were kids. Now my sister makes all the pizzas homemade. Dough and all. Christmas dinner varies each year.
My Grandma always made a turkey supper with the works Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and then, because why not, New Years Day! Then no turkey for the rest of the year!❤😂
I hate front loaders!!! And you are right about it being hard on your knees, not to mention all the different places that water can sit and mold and mildew can build up quickly. I am constantly scrubbing it with bleach. Who wants to clean their washing machine before using it!! Never again!!
Bunk, smash your garlic with a wide knife. Lay the knife on top of the garlic clove, peel & all. Then smack the knife or just push down and sorta crush the garlic clove. Then smack, the peel will then easily come off. No more peeling or frustration. Even if u want to use the press after u smash it, u can fit it in it there. Giada, always places a knife flat on hers a whacks it!! Plus, you’ll suddenly feel better, releases any pint up frustration 😂 love u both❤❤
Had a front load washer and dryer and couldn’t wait to get rid of it. Top load all the way
Hey there Bunkeys. I go to the laundromat with mostly front loaders. I don’t crouch I bend and toss the clothes in. I noticed you fold and set especially the pants. The detergent, if you have soft water you need less.
I don't commit on many videos but I had to let you know that I watch every video you put out and I absolutely love the way your doing the vlog style that you al are doing I love seeing the way you live your life So keep on living the life that I love to watch and being you You all bring a smile to my heart every time I watch you Love you so much and Merry Christmasl
Thank you so much, that means the world to us!❤️We have enjoyed vlogging more too, so that makes us so happy to hear that you love it as well! Merry Christmas, love you sweet friend!!
That chicken looks awesome. I do a similar version but rub the chicken down with a little olive oil and no fluid in the pain and skin gets so crispy and amazing. Thanks for sharing as always!!!❤
i been using top load washers always. i repair & rebuild appliances... front loads are nasty.. not enough water to remove soap & dirt. thats why they sell stuff to remove the buildup & smell they get. plus those break often cost LOTS more
My Mom bought a nice new front load washer and wound up giving it away because she hated it so much. 😅 She and I both have top load washers now, which we both prefer. 😊 Keep y'all's great videos coming. Merry Christmas! 🎅🎄☃️
Top loader for the washing machine because I like to start the water with liquid detergent as I start to load the dirty clothes in. I feel it mixes the water and detergent better. Front loader you could, of course, not do that.
I love your attitude
Yummy 😋
Merry Christmas 🎄 and God Bless.
I say this almost every video, Jessica, you are so sweet, I love yall, the Bunkies are my favorite ❤❤ I use tide pods because I cannot help but put the maximum amount of detergent, it's so crazy lol, great video ,Happy holidays to you and yours ❤❤❤
We had a big dinner for Thanksgiving, so for Christmas we are going to do a grazing table. Everyone is going to bring finger foods!!
They make cabinets that goes under the top loader washer. Washer and dryer at eye level and drawer on the bottom to store your soap and dryer sheets. I love it.
I will never own another front loading washer again! I hated mine lol! We are doing a taco bar for Christmas Eve dinner with my kids and their families and my dad! We like to do something different every year!
No on front loader washers, I have both and hate the front loader. For Christmas I’m making Gumbo and Taco Soup for the few that don’t eat gumbo! Merry Christmas to y’all!
Merry Christmas Bunky's! 🎅🤶🎄⛄️🦌✨️
I prefer a top loader.
We had a front loader and I hated it,occasionally it would have a musty smell and the rubber ring around it got moldy, leaked water like crazy.
Diffently going to have to try that chicken recipe tomorrow.
For our Christmas gathering we normally do finger foods. I ❤ that green shirt,it looks good on you with your hair and eyes. ❤Nancy
I don’t like front loading washers. When you are in your 70s it’s to hard to put laundry in and out. Love the top loaders with an agitator. Clothes are so much cleaner
I’m short so a top loader seemed like a good idea. Dang! I can’t wait for the day that I can go back to a top loader, even though I will need a step stool. Bunky your hair didn’t need cutting, but your haircut looks good. That chicken is looking good, will try that this week.
Thank you for sharing new meals with us!
I prefer top load. I had a front load and didn’t care for it. 😊
I so love watching you both!! TIP: when using a garlic press, you don’t need to peel the clove first. Just pop it into the press, squeeze and the skin is left behind in the press.
Definitely get yourselves some pedestals for your washer and dryer. You will love them, and oh my, all the storage they provide!
Awww, thank you!! The garlic press, we have to try this next time! And pedestals would be so nice, may have to get them for our next set 🥰 Thanks for watching and we hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎄 ⛄️🎄
I have both types of washers, I like them both. I’m short so I’m not in the floor to toss the clothes in.
For Christmas we are over turkey and ham so we make potato taquitos. They are so yummy, you top them with mayo, shredded cabbage, Mexican crumble cheese and homemade salsa. So good!
I’m sure you both already know they have front load washer stands. We have them and makes a huge difference. But I’ll be honest…I did switch back to top load washer because of the bending down AND less worrying about water leakage.
I have had top loaders for the past 12 years and I love them. I am only 5’3 and it works for me but if I was any shorter it would not😂
Old school top loader.
We do a big Christmas brunch sometimes Christmas Eve depending on everyone’s travel schedule.
We change the themes each year. We’ve done traditional biscuits and gravy, fruit, pancakes, bacon, muffins, coffee and oj.
Last year we did a Mexican feast of Pozole, menudo, tamales, rice, charro beans, dips, Mexican sweet breads.
This years we’re doing bbq. Grilled chicken, sausage, mom’s potato salad, pasta salad, dips. My parents host it and usually make the main dish and all of us siblings bring everything else 🫶🏻
This sounds like the best way to celebrate and so much fun! Keeps it interesting changing the theme each year, love this! Hope y’all enjoy it this year and Merry Christmas 🥰🎄⛄️
My tradition on Christmas Eve is homemade Lasagna, Italian Bread, Garden Salad and some Red Wine. This year in Christmas I am making a Aprme Rib Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Parmesan Cheese Air Fryer Green Beans with Pumpkin Pi, more wine of course.🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄
Trying this tonight! Looks so good!
We had to get a new washer and dryer last year. We just went with the top loader. But that thing is so dang tall that nearly every time I wash clothes I end up saying at least once, I don't know how short people ever do laundry anymore!!! I can barely reach into the bottom of that washer to get our clothes out!!! Lol. And now, on to that chicken. Girl, I want, no I need that in my belly!!!!! That looks soooo yummy!!❤😋
Do not like front load washers!! They get mold and mildew and stink. We just purchased regular top load washers and love it!!
The reason they get mold, mildew and stink is when you close them after use. Leave the door open!
Read care instructions for the machine, use self clean feature and clean filter on regular basis. Never had a problem with them 🤷♀️
Christmas Eve we do Mexican food! We order from a local Mexican food place, plus lots of appetizers and dips etc. SOOOO good! I prefer Christmas Eve 1000X more than the traditional Christmas dinner (turkey, ham, stuffing, sweet potatoes etc).
Paused to come answer your question. I love my front loaders but I have the drawer pedestals under them. Helps my back so much. I have bought 2 front load washers The installers didn't do it right so it ended up ruining my first one but my dryer is still kicking after 14 years. You are using way more detergent than needed. lol
Top load washer-the only one I want!
😂🙋🏼♀️
I bought a top load speed queen and love it!
Top load all the way.
I would never own a front loader for those reasons alone lol OK, maybe never is a stretch, but I prefer leaning into the top one because I could barely reach the bottom
You can purchase pedestals for front load machines. I love the added storage in the pedestals. Also research says that half the recommended detergent on the bottle is better for laundry and your machine. Stay Blessed!
No more front load washers for me. They always smell not to mention standing on your head to get clothes in and out. We usually cook Mexican for Christmas but this year we are having a "soupoff". Everyone is bringing a soup and a dessert. Holiday Blessings ❤
I agree on the latte! I get mine w/ oat milk & sugar cookie foam!!
Happy Monday, Mr & Mrs B😊😊💛💛
Happy Monday to you too! 🥰
My daughter does the cooking now that I’m a senior. She makes a total Italian dinner. I make the deserts.
I much prefer a top load but I have to stack my washer and dryer to fit my laundry closet so I’m stuck with front load.
That's how it is at our Belmont house😅We cant wait to own a top load again one day lol!
We do basic. Turkey, dressing, rice, gravy, green beans, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and corn I frozen from the summer. Rolls. Cheesecake, persimmon pudding, apple pie.
I made that chicken last night, it's was so tender & delicious 😋 new favorite.
Just PP dont like the front loaders I've heard they have issues with mildew/mold around the door gaskets if you dont keep them wiped down plus all that bending is the pits as we age 😂 love my Speed Queens...as for Christmas meal we use to go all out and cook a big country ham but its a whole process si the past few years we get Scotts Barbecue (Hemingway SC) and its the best just add a few sides some Hawaian Rolls and I'm not all day in the kitchen
