I can agree to this statement. I grew up in the 1980s, and spent my teen years in the early to mid 1990s, and have a wide range of music love, and hearing these types of songs always brought back memories and love for the mid to late 1980s music I remember as a kid ❤
It's not lost if it is inside me. And judging from the massive 80s-90s asthetics comeback, it is inside of many people.
So 80s-like : Cool cars, guys with staches, ladies with style and of course someone plays a fantastic sax solo in the background, simply said : Gorgeous!
The beginning of this song kinda reminds me of the beginning of "Boys of Summer". This band honors the 80s sound in many ways, great and subtle. Also, the Dodge Daytona (Turbo Z model) was my dad's dream car in the 80s. But he bought a Ford Ranger instead. That was a good truck, but there was always an impeller shaped hole in dad's heart, a forced induction of regret, that pressurizes his soul to this very day.
There are at least 4 vehicles shown here - Corvette, Daytona, Trans AM and Datsun Fairlady (Z car)...

Living the dream. I was born in the 80s. I clearly remember really enjoying synth wave which was more like a new wave for that time. I was amazed at how everything sounded so good. I wondered how the music was made. I felt so sad when everything moved to grunge, heavy metal and EDM in the 90s. I never knew why at that time and couldn't fathom how such a fascinating genre like synth wave could fade away. Now I make my own synth wave music and I realize, 80s synth wave was truly superior in so many ways and it feels so good that it is back!

I like my synthy 80's dream-wave pop in a particular fashion. I'm no snob by any means, but most are done horribly. Usually I'm no buyer when they have lyrics. However, you have destroyed all my internal barriers and blown me away with all of your music. Part of me is like "where the FUCK did this just come from" and the other part says "who cares dude. time to revisit the best years of your life."

I want to thank The Midnight... for setting the spark for a dream in me. I am writing something at the moment and I base my storylines on lyrics I hear, characters I imagine... and its like my ideas have been in my head all along, but the midnight have just pushed me in the right direction.
