Instead of thinking you missed out on the awesomeness, realize you have opportunities to make your own memories. Don't try to capture them as clips on your phone but actually go out and live your life. Words of wisdom from a guy who turned 15 in 1980 and had fun making his own memories instead of trying to capture someone else's.
This song catches perfectly the spirit of a time when people were in the habit of dreaming and imaginig a magical future far away from the one we finally got
@Smoked Bear What's changing for the better currently? White people are experiencing genocide. Anything you know and love will be gone if that happens.
Got a transfer at my job and I'm finally moving to Florida. I plan on blasting stuff like this in my car late at night as I cruise along the coast. And yes, I'll be wearing a white suit with a pastel shirt.
I've been listening to this song religiously for the past 6 months. That fucking sax is epic beyond the fucking limits. Panties are flooding worldwide because of that sax.
I can attest to this. I saw them live in Denmark when they came through here last. I didn't realise the saxman was walking around the crowd while playing until he was next to me and saxed all over me. I instantly grew a pair of panties just so I could soak them.
This song is more 80s, than the 80's... because it combines all those best elements. Electronic beats, an amazing sax, a hypnotic singers voice, heart and soul, plus a VHS-(quality)-video... Living the dream. I just grew a moustache and breast hair, took my white suit and sailing shoes (of course without socks....), started the engine of my Lincoln Confidential, opened the windows... and drove off into sunset, following the coastline...
I’m assuming the whole video is from the 80’s. Different car companies out these out. Just saying that because General Motors out out the one for the Corvette before the C4 came out.
I've been listening to this song on and off for the past 6 hours today...I have yet to get bored to any part of this song. Days of Thunder is love, Days of Thunder is life.
I was born in the 80s. I clearly remember really enjoying synth wave which was more like a new wave for that time. I was amazed at how everything sounded so good. I wondered how the music was made. I felt so sad when everything moved to grunge, heavy metal and EDM in the 90s. I never knew why at that time and couldn't fathom how such a fascinating genre like synth wave could fade away. Now I make my own synth wave music and I realize, 80s synth wave was truly superior in so many ways and it feels so good that it is back!
If I hadn't seen the release date I might have thought this came out in the 80's! The fact that it is recent makes it more awesome, thank you for this song
So 80s-like : Cool cars, guys with staches, ladies with style and of course someone plays a fantastic sax solo in the background, simply said : Gorgeous!

The beginning of this song kinda reminds me of the beginning of "Boys of Summer". This band honors the 80s sound in many ways, great and subtle. Also, the Dodge Daytona (Turbo Z model) was my dad's dream car in the 80s. But he bought a Ford Ranger instead. That was a good truck, but there was always an impeller shaped hole in dad's heart, a forced induction of regret, that pressurizes his soul to this very day.
I’ve been listening to your music on repeat the past couple years, you guys have gotten me thru so much. Currently using you as inspiration to push thru my health conditions and work out to some sick beats. Is keeping me motivated! Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
This was the first song I listened to from you all. You all manage to cut through to so many emotions and memories that every song feels therapeutic. A song that I thought was just about racing or whatever actually turned out to be one of the most personal bands ive ever listened to. And you all help on a daily basis. You all have shown so many that from the darkness to the light, we'll always have The Midnight.
I can agree to this statement. I grew up in the 1980s, and spent my teen years in the early to mid 1990s, and have a wide range of music love, and hearing these types of songs always brought back memories and love for the mid to late 1980s music I remember as a kid ❤
When I found this track, I had it on repeat for almost 6 or 7 hours while I walked around the streets of Melbourne, Australia, until I'd walked so far down the river that I ended up at the docks, where I simply sat on the concrete waterfront and reminisced my own life of music and travel. Now I search the web, hoping that I'll one day see that they're performing in Melbourne 🕺💃
I want to thank The Midnight... for setting the spark for a dream in me. I am writing something at the moment and I base my storylines on lyrics I hear, characters I imagine... and its like my ideas have been in my head all along, but the midnight have just pushed me in the right direction. ''Trevor Something - fade away'' the next recommended song was Sunset. You guys changed my life. 2 years ago in Berlin concert singing Sunset chorus was something else. You don't imagine how many fans you have in Lithuania.
Oh wow, this video has revived my childhood crush on the Corvette C4. That's exactly what I was fantasizing about back then. Driving around in that beast, and going through all kinds of adventures with this type of music in the background.
i'm very particular in my taste when it comes to vocals, especially so in retro synth wave music, but man...you're one of those rare exceptions where the vocals actually add in a major way, instead of detract. so i'd love to hear more stuff, glad i came across this and "Gloria".
Maybe not then but if we continue with the trend( that i am noticing ) it will be much sooner then that. As I call it saudade or a feeling of being lost in thought as what was from the past we have a nostalgic memory for that we never were apart of.

The midnight is just the 80's for us 90's kids who missed all the awesomeness.
And 2000s kids who missed out, basically for everyone who missed out
We didn't miss all of it, nothing beats this guys music with a night cruise in an old 80's shitbox that still runs good

Living in the days of thunder

Living in the days of thunder
Living in the days of thunder

Love was a dream to have
Was a kingsize bed
Was an escape plan
Was an open hand
Now it’s a dog from hell
It’s a dream you sell
It’s an epitaph
It’s a photograph
And the ghost of the boulevard
