I went about it my usual slow way, starting mostly with five-digit houses. Once I noticed a few bi-valued cells facing a (usually given) digit, it was fast-going. At one point, I blundered but only crashed much later, so I had to backtrack and correct my mistake. No advanced techniques needed this time. 5:20 4s gave mini-X-wings. One can also place a 57 pair in block 9. I recall doing two puzzles with seventeen givens. The first was surprisingly easy. The second was very difficult.
Weird. I'm not getting anything for Jan 26. Just keeps giving me yesterday's. I deleted cookies and tried private browsing... nothing gives me today's games. Bit annoying...
@@reginacairns95 Soz. I meant SudokuPad. Theres a link in the description, and you can change which puzzle you want in the address bar (just change hard to medium or easy).
OK, so I see that you got the puzzle from Sudoku Pad (SP), but I don't know where SP gets it. Do you put it there, or are they getting it from some other source? I saw that another Sudoku UA-camr posted a solution to the 26 Jan medium Sudoku. In do so, he stated there is no hard puzzle for today, so he was doing the medium. Is it possible the "hard" puzzle on SP is in fact a medium puzzle? That could explain why many of your commenters seem to be finding it very easy to do.
I don't know which UA-camr you're talking about but it's very easy to go on the NYT website and validate that the puzzle I solve matches the hard puzzle.
The truth is that the NYT "hard" just isn't that hard. It's just the hardest that they provide. It only ever requires a small list of techniques to solve, and if you get good at and practice those techniques then the puzzle will not be very hard to solve.
This was quick and easy for me as well, very straightforward once the corner-marks were done.
9:26 to solve. Thanks Rangsk!
Dang, this puzzle was so easy that I had to pause and watch your video to make sure I didn't just jump ahead with something. Took me 8 minutes 👍
14.02 NO hits, no help....I am so grateful for finding you. Happy Friday!
Awesome!
