Great video man! Nice work on the arrows. I’ve really enjoyed your videos. I just bought a recurve a few weeks ago and I’m already hooked. I was just wondering what was involved in building arrows. I might have to invest in some equipment now. Have a good one thks
Great video as usual Jim. I noticed you're about to pop your buttons on your shirt. Might ad an item to your Christmas list this year....size XL on the shirt size. :)
When i read the title saying traditional, i thought you finally had been taking up on my request on showing the process from wooden plank to finished wooden arrow. A little dissapointed i must say but good video anyway for those who haven't seen your early videos on how to prepare arrows :) ATB Jukio4
so i've been shooting at a community center that uses a net to catch any arrows that miss the target butts, but my arrows are thin enough that it can actually get through the netting. when I saw your tip on adding "fletching cement" to the tip of the feathers to help it, I thought it was ingenious but I wanted to ask what kind of glue that was? we dont have many archery supply stores where I live and wondering if it might be something I can pick up somewhere else. I do have fletching glue that I got a while ago which seems to be very very similar to crazy glue. but when I tried this trick out with this, it kind of evaporated and didnt really leave much behind, im still worried that the feather might still catch and might get stripped.
Hi Grizzly, my name os Nacho and I'm from Spain. I would like to know your opinion about the Mohican bearpaw bow, because I want to start traditional archery and this is one of the bows that I'm thinking about buying, thank you very much.
awesome little vid. I haven't tried the paint pens yet, I also sign my arrows up by the fletchings with the wieght of the spine ( mostly shooting woods) and the grain of the point. Once again like you said we all do something a little different. Just did up some carbons for my wife this morning. Thanks again for your videos they are great reference material for when I go back to doing stuff I don't do that often. Quick question though, when you are bare shafting your arrows how far back from the target do you stand and can a weak arrow wobble so much that when it hits the target that it looks stiff?
Hi Jim, this ultimate tool to "rotate" arrows is your homemade or you bought it? I want one but I cant find anything similar. Thank you very much and keep doing what you do! Me and other members of Bow Brothers from Czech Republic are your huge fans ;)
Hi Tomas. I'm José from Spain. You can buy it for example in Amazon. Look at this: www.amazon.com/Bohning-Class-Fletching-Straight-Clamp/dp/B0000AVE3W I have a metallic one. The name of this "machine" in english is "Fletching Jig". You can find a lot on the internet.
The different colored one? It's there to make sure you have the arrow correctly on the string. You want the odd one close to you. Its the same type of feather, its just differently colored.
Does anything about wrapping the arrow or painting The Arrow change the flight or the spine of the arrow thanks for your time enjoyed your video. Subscribed don't speed up the videos where we can't hear your voice you have a pleasing voice and I'd rather hear you talk then the squawking when you Speed the video up thanks Simon
What about this is traditional in any sense of the word? Does this guy actually believe that medieval archers or Native Americans used spray paint super glue and jigs. 👎👎
Traditional arrow making…Hmmm - carbon shaft, spray paint, chinese made fletching, adhesive tape, sandpaper, a spining jig….say no more. somehow i don’t think this is how the Comanche Indians made arrows. and it was their primary survival weapon and war weapon. nothing traditional about these arrows my friend.
Excellent video! Painting and cresting has always seemed intimidating, but you’ve broken it down nicely!
Great information. Bought my jig but awaiting parts to arrive. Thanks for the demo.
Don't know how I missed this video ,well done .thank you for the video
Comanche arrow painting! Only the best!😃💪
This is a super great channel! You guys are dons....great filmmaking too! Well done.

Very well done video Jim. Great job!

Glad to see some fast motion.
Great tutorial video, thanks!
Love the way you nearly 'corpse' at the beginning.
Great Videos Grizzly Jim.. Quick Question - Where Can I Purchase Good Quality Feathers 🪶 Like The Ones You Use Or Would Recommend?
Great video, very helpful... thanks!
Oh Dear !, bites onto the shaft, Ooo Matron!
Wow! You must have said 'just' 100 times!
Nice job! You answered some questions that came to me just yesterday. How could you know? 🦄 Thanks a lot man! 🏹🏹🏹
...I've got shed envy...
It doesn't get better than Montana Gold.
Can you make a video about the different sound profiles that different fletching cuts have?
Thank You Jim !!
cool video, thanks Jim 🎯
Just as an aesthetic choice, can you use raven feathers? I think they'd look nice on a dark wood arrow or one painted black.
Great video as usual Jim. I noticed you're about to pop your buttons on your shirt. Might ad an item to your Christmas list this year....size XL on the shirt size. :)

Hi, can you use also acrilic spray colors for wodden arrows?

I am new to Archery and I was wondering if you could explain the odd feather in the fetching and how and why it is set on the arrow?
The different colored one? It's there to make sure you have the arrow correctly on the string. You want the odd one close to you.
Its the same type of feather, its just differently colored.
odd colored one should be set out of the bow.
It is set to avoid friction between the fletching ang bow.
Which paint pens are best to do this?
You rambled a bit but it was still enjoyable and useful.
How far do you like to generally put your cresting from the nock?
Hey grizzy Jim, my name is Giancarlo and want to purchase the cottonmouth bow but it can't be delivery to the United States, just want to know why?
Giancarlo9516 I'm interested in one also.
can you tell me where to purchase the cresting machine for painting?
3 rivers archery
Great video, thanks :)
Will enamel hurt carbon?
Sick thanks
Dude. You use MONTANA GOLD For arrows? My man! Graffiti and Archery are my two favorite sports ;)

Very little traditional about plastic.
Was expecting wooden arrows Jim.
Prepare the shaft
What type of tape were you using?
that doesn't really matter
Thanks for the highly intelligent response.
It's true. It doesn't really matter. Just masking tape or something like that.
fletch tape
@@mennokuipers5709 ummm no lol
I wonder if vegetarians only shoot plastic vanes...
I whip the leading edges of the fletches with dental floss...
Geezus! Way too many words.
Let's look at the first step....*Long Pause and Face of Disappointment*...Prepping the shaft.
Is there any need for the piano music ?
What about this is traditional in any sense of the word? Does this guy actually believe that medieval archers or Native Americans used spray paint super glue and jigs. 👎👎
nothing about this is traditional lol
he's bow is
