      @@OVRBoosted no lol I tried that it was much worse. I felt it was better because I could actually floor the car without it feeling like it wanted to keep down shifting. I have a GT tho.

    It performs exactly as promised. If you've ever encountered the transmission abruptly shifting down after you manually shifted up, you understand the frustration it can cause. This feature effectively prevents that from happening.

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted Рік тому

      Definitely agree, but as for increasing performance? I don’t see it. I think it’s beneficial to get rid of the annoyance you suggested.

    • @Gunny6113
      @Gunny6113 Рік тому

      Let's be completely honest with one another. The method you employed for testing was likely the most effective approach. However, it introduced a considerable number of variables. Conducting three runs for each test and then calculating the average of the results will almost always yield different outcomes. I will say it’s not for everyone, but if you’ve ever experienced the sudden downshift when you upshifted the transmission, it’s worth the $20. Sorry, you had to pay almost double. That’s not because of BMS it’s just the price of doing Buisness in Canada.

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted Рік тому +4

      @@Gunny6113 Correct, there was a lot of variables at play. I believe I address those variables the best I can with what I have. It’s extremely hard to test and get a dead set number. I put together these videos for free to just try and help people. So they know what a normal person, like myself can expect. I am no expert nor do I claim to be. I have no bias or resentment towards any product. If you go on a lot of fb groups you watch people over hype certain things. I’m trying to show what you will receive and how it works along with details on installing certain products.
      As for this particular product , it’s not for everyone, but it does serve a purpose for some and it does block the transmission activating it’s downshift switch.
      The price of doing business in Canada is definitely not worth a 20 cent part. That’s just wrong. To make that part a bit more affordable and worth it, maybe offer other shipping options. I don’t believe FedEx is the best option all the time.
      If we are completely being honest with one another, the advertisement does say “When drag racing launching in 2nd gear and avoiding the kick-down into 1st will dramatically improve your 60' time on street tires”. I don’t see it dramatically decreasing 0-60 times. That test is pretty easy to replicate removing variables.

  • @SparkyWrench
    @SparkyWrench 7 місяців тому +1

    The performance comes from the strip in a RWD. When you want to launch in 2nd, punch it, drops to 1st, breaks loose the tires because you have 15-18 lbs of boost built up. Then you up shift, but in that split second it already changed to 2nd so you actually shift to 3rd... then you're at 3k rpm in 3rd instead of 4k...😅 ask me how i know...

  • @celatid6632
    @celatid6632 Рік тому +2

    I like the idea of this for the purpose of not having the trans down shift when you're in manual mode. Now if they made something to stop the upshifts when you get to the limiter in manual mode..... (RWD life....)

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted Рік тому

      The idea of it is good, but there wasn’t really any performance difference that I noticed. My test basically concluded the exact same average times.

    I think some of you are missing the point of the kick down blocker. It's simply to keep the car from kicking down when you floor it. You can do this manually by not pushing the kick down switch as well but you have to train your foot to stop.
    Put it in manual mode and it will stay in whatever gear you select instead of down shifting.

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted Рік тому +2

    Not worth it for us Canadians!!! really $25.00 for shipping!! That's absurd !! I try to get BMS products from a local dealer here in Edmonton but its not that much cheaper even then. I try my best to buy stinger parts from Canadian retailers but we don't have near what the states has for this platform. I do like N75 and Uniq Performance . All in all your 10 cent piece was wasn't worth but I always love to see your videos and appreciate your content as always. Keep the videos coming !! I agree, I try to order out of Canada as much as possible. That blocker is probably only 10 cents. When you check out on the bms website there is only 1 shipping option, fedex for 25.00. Talk about exploiting something. Plus the part with my testing literally made zero difference.

    Same idea isnt it ?

    • @OVRBoosted
      @OVRBoosted Рік тому

      Yes it’s the same idea, but the blocker prevents the shift down in manual. In manual shifting your car will shift down if you floor it. If you’re in 3rd gear manual mode and are cruising along at 3500rpm in 3rd gear then floor it the car will auto shift to second even know you’re in manual. The blocker does prevent that giving you a little more control over the car.
