    Between the series "The GN in 1970" and the original series "Soo the Milwaukee Road", we've reached 100 episodes. That's a lot. We've taken over 7 years to get here, but with life, family, time and standards...it's time to shift gears. This channel is not going away, it will remain active, though the content is going to shift sligtly.
    Season 7 was fun to create, it had its highs & lows and the lows are what are being cleaned up. As a creative person, I see the final product, before it's even created. That said, I did not feel like I was reaching that We all have our own levels of success and how we define what is good. In my opinion, things can get tighter and cleaner, with less editing needed.
    Be sure to subscribe to the channel to get the future latest and greatest videos. "Thanks for watchin'." -William

    Congratulations on completing Season 7 and 100 episodes! I truly appreciate all the time and effort you put into making these videos. Sharing the hobby is what it all is about. You must have made that segment on hopper cars for dummies for me. Great tutorial but I still won't remember the differences when I look at one during an ops session. Whatever direction you go in the future with your videos I will always be a fan of your channel and look forward to any future videos. Now kick the brake off of the locomotive and go switch some cars on your fantastic layout.

      Thank you Tom! The series truly grew legs & got off the ground, thanks to you. My RR wouldn’t be where it’s at and the series wouldn’t have near the variety of topics, if we didn’t connect. From one modeler to another, a big “THANKS” goes to you. It’s totally about sharing and more will be shared, but at a slightly retooled pace/length.
      Thanks again, “On with the ops!” The future’s bright.

    Excellent finale episode, I'm only a week late to the party on this one, the hopper segment was very informative those cars all seem to look alike until you take the time to notice the details, your breakdown was top notch, I like the TP&W ghost lettering showing through on that ATSF car, that movie clip montage was awesome, yet again the Rivard footage didn't disappoint, I always liked the look of the SOO units and getting to see them in action is a treat, the casual radio chatter, the way the dispatcher was on a first name basis with the crew, all aspects of the job that have passed on, I like after the one train passed the two boys that went to retrieve coins from the rail, your series was 23 well spent hours for me, no refund here, and I appreciate the time you invest into these, I don't think people realize how much time it takes to create content and I for one appreciate that, be a little sad to see the series go, but I'll definitely still tune in for projects etc, I enjoy seeing the progress on your layout, also look forward to seeing more GN in 1970 as well, Thanks for 100 great episodes and I look forward to viewing your future content

    William, you run a fun show. I understand your desire for change, but I'll still miss all the goofy stuff as well as the solid info. Trivia: on the covered hoppers, you missed one! No mention of the Pullman-Standard 4740. Not a smaller version of the later (and much more common) car. The roof profile was flat, the sides were fully ribbed, just not as many as the 4750. Athearn and Tangent have done 4740s in HO scale.

      It’ll be hard not to add a little personality into the future productions. I do have fun creating these, it’s just the time that sucks the life out of bringing them to the level they’re currently at.
      I’m looking to branch out and focus more on the various techniques and hopefully share my artistic abilities with weathering & detailing.
      I’ll never stop enjoying the process, but cranking these out weekly? It’s tough, as I do work 40+ hours a week, have a family and still want to fit trains in the mix. Which I do, but 10pm-1am isn’t ideal. 😆
      Keep an eye out for the future eps.

    Say them facts, Some time the juice is not worth the squeeze.
    If after putting in all that work YT share the video with no one and the view counts end up being low. Was all that extra work worth it? But if you can do less work and get the same or more views, then what would you do is the question.
    Now the problem is that the viewers expect a specific level of quality based on past videos but are unwilling to support that extra work effort.
    Creators just get burnt out and give up and move on. Let someone else do all that work and I will survive on my YT Shorts income. I just needed to figure out what I can buy with my 7.65 cents.

    • @SootheMilwaukeeRoad
      @SootheMilwaukeeRoad  Рік тому +1

      Isn’t that the truth. Grass roots can only take things so far, the more we share & comment? The more that helps. But YT clearly has zero interest in our hobby.
      It’s all ad based and only so many Viagra & soap commercials will get eyeballs. When we turn off ads, we barely get 3 people to view a video, …😂
      I’ve done these for the fun of it, not for the benjamins, yet many think “It’s all about the Benjamin’s baby.” There’s zero money in creating content…unless the manufactures were to back the “little guy”. We all know that won’t happen.
      Shorts = Short Attention Span…😂

Why do all the work when no one has a chance to view your videos. I know the work involved and I know that just saying thanks or comment goes a long way to any creator. I make sure I notice something in every video I watch and let the creator know I saw that. I just gave up on editing at this point and post what I filmed etc. but that still takes several hours to upload and correct a video that has no “editing”.
