I wasn't expecting them to do a double shantay right after the non-elimination last week . But they were more deserved than the non-eliminations from RPDR 14.
Both of these were very deserving, and a lot of the double saves on 14 were too but some of them weren't. 😅
Personally, I think hood was mistranslated.
What they did was a FlipTop themed reading challenge.
FlipTop is a freestlye rap battle here in the Philippines.
I feel like, the best wording for this is streets and not hood. Lmao.
And m1ss jade's look is actually a reference to a viral video of a woman in that exact clothes dancing and it went viral on Facebook a few years back, she has been referenced as a meme.
Also, Bernie and her military BF is amazing

I understand where Jiggly was coming from, but she also forgot that Katkat is going against a "NATIONAL HERO". Basically, that Filipino sports and political icon said "Gays are worse than animals. At least animals know what/who to mate with". It is easy for Jiggly to say "be direct", but even she cannot say the name of the person Katkat is referring to.
That's absolutely fair.
She should also understand that the words Jiggly said couldn't fit in that back piece or else it won't be read easily. The small letters won't show clearly. We are humans & the color rainbow. I understand it !

FlipTop or Filipino Rap Battle is the modernized "Balagtasan" which is a form of Philippine Literature. However, FlipTop is heavily influenced by western rap.
Katkat forget her catch phrase "maganda ba ako sa picture"!! Like, she can replace it with ' maganda ba buhok ko sa picture??
Yeah I agree. Katkat have a solid branding towards the entire season. She even have the shark reference that she didn’t include.
But I wouldn’t blame katkat because the time pressure to do this challenge plus the way she was overwhelmed with a lot of stuffs she needed to do for that commercial is very understandable.
Mama Pao looks is inspired by Blu Hydrangea looks when she sent Pangina home HAHAHAHA

Filipino is the standardized version of Tagalog, and Filipino is declared by the government as the national/official language of the Philippines, so captions and subtitles would be "Filipino", the differences are minimal, just a few words are different (removal of spanish words, for ex: blue becomes "bughaw" instead of "asul")

I think the older queens struggled here bc they haven't had to think about their brand in a long time, considering how they're already big fish in a small pond. Meanwhile, the youths constantly have to do this even on social media. Arizona and OV you got right from the promo pictures. Hana and M1ss Jade had catchphrases from the get.
If u watch the entire episode, they showed they stopped her but Jade insisted to finish her commercial or else she can't show it unfinished to the judges. So it's fair she's in the bottom. It's a bad example to other queens if they coppied her.
Well we did watch the whole episode and no one else copied her, but we all have our own opinions on the matter.

I think Jiggly was calling KatKat out for her commercial, which reflected neither the statement of her runway look nor her brand.
Bernie's runway is a reference to Tyra Banks last victoria secret runway but 10000x better!

Shade / Reading isn't really that common in the Philippines... Best example was in season 1... They were during a flip top battle, it's like shade / read but in a rap form that's most common here (even has fliptop battle competitions with prize money)
For Katkat's outfit, I didnt understand the connection between putting birds on the outfit when the message was We are Human.... I didnt watch the episode so maybe I missed something? In any case, totally agreed with y'all with that Bernie/Kat Kat lipsync, definitely Mugthering!! ❤❤

Arizona got an additional 5 mins for winning the mini challenge. The crew told Jade that her time is up but she still went ahead so I guess she deserve to be penalized for it.

The guy with them during filming was the season's director, not producer :) He also stated he had low energy as he was diagnosed with depression and his previous psych gave him incorrect doses of psych meds which he was on at the time of filming.
He has a new psych now, has the correct doses, and his energy is better! :)

I was expecting Bernie to make a shampoo ad that'll make you an instant pageant queen or something. Unfortunately, she was just really lost in this challenge.

About the Philippines' language... Our official language was named "Tagalog" before and it was changed OFFICIALLY to "Filipino" lol

Tagalog (which is the shortened form of Taga-ilog or "from the river") is actually a dialect. It was chosen to become the National Language as it is commonly used in highly urbanized business districts (especially in our capital city, Manila). Filipino is the formal name for the national language. But it is basically also the dialect Tagalog. Pilipino on the other hand, is the proper term for our race.

@@TheCUPPoddon't worry even Filipinos are not aware or confused about the difference between Tagalog and Filipino. But we use them interchangeably outside academic discussions.
What they did to Miss Jade is so fucked up; they didn't tell her that the producers brought that Miss Jade exceeded time in the discussion. What if they put Jade in lip sync and she doesn't even bother to practice the song because she and the other girls expected that she'd be at the top this week based on the judges critics? They should bring up the time issue right there when they give a comment on the stage so that Miss Jade can at least prepare for the worst. But it's done 🤷♀️
The thing is, she was told she is going over the time limit. She INSISTED to shoot two more shots. She should've known points are going to be deducted.
Here's my thought process about this:
1) They probably weren't gonna make it a big deal, until Katkat broke down about it during untucked (which is after the deliberations).
2) They didn't bother telling her for drama, which is fine because they didn't have any intention to put her in the bottom 2 at all, so not knowing the lipsync song wouldn't hurt her.
