The original creator for the book table was an Etsy artist from San Francisco named Jane Dandy. "The one photographed here is the one I made for myself and was meant to capture a moment in my life. All the books in this table are about architecture and capsulize the years I spent studying architecture in the San Francisco Bay Area."

Becky, you have the coolest house. I don't want much retro in my space but you do it _so_ well! Love the low wall shelf in your house that holds the Bauhaus print. I need more of these Becky videos where she takes us through her process start to finish. She's a creative queen with impeccable teaching skills and her woodworking projects/DIY upgrades are some of the most interesting. Really like how the book table came out. This book table is now, officially, my favorite Becky project. I am going to make this table! I was watching and thinking about how I have special books that are just in stacks or on a shelf, lost to the chaos. I love how this not only makes them special, but turns them into art. Useful art. A magnetized piece of plexiglass could be really cool on top of the table. Drill small holes in the wood and then secure the small magnets down in the holes. Then adhere the other part of the magnet onto the plexiglass so it can sort of float on top and yet be removed easily.

Girl... Not going to lie, everything int his entire video is a whole mood. The undertones of the bleh time of year after the come-down from the holidays, the laying in bed with the fur babies with the blackout curtains shut, the project stopping points that can feel so incredibly difficult to overcome... This feels like a REAL video, if that makes any sense? The way it was presented, the lighting, the voiceovers, the frustrations of decision making when you're stuck... it's as brilliant as THAT FREAKING LITERAL COFFEE TABLE BOOK TABLE. This is by far one of the most personal videos this channel has ever put out and I feel so much comfort and less alone than i did a half hour ago knowing that I'm not the only one in this season of life. Cheers! Well done!
[ ETA: STILL I am floored over the industrial piercing through the table for future modifications. I saw that same table, LOVED IT, and was immediately like "That is a static piece, like an art installation. It is meant to be a time capsule in a way, which is very permanent, so that wouldn't work for me," since, like you said, books come in so many different shapes and sizes. I am L I V I N G, QUEEN

Becky is the ultimate DIY queen. I loved this style of video where you take us thru the entire thought process and that you let the diy sort of run it. I picked black in the poll but I definitely think the beige paint color you chose is perfect!

Becky, I reverse image searched and believe the original artist to be San Francisco-based furniture maker Jane Dandy. I think she used to have an etsy page but I couldn't find it. But that image is credited to her on various sites, hopefully you guys see this and post a credited update!

I just had to comment to say I don’t know WHAT it is about this episode but I absolutely LOVED it! I literally kept thinking, wow this is such a good episode, the entire time! Becky’s a genius and I loved the little shots of her sitting around mulling over ideas; this video felt so personal. Pleaseeee keep more like these coming!

That book table is incredible. And I'm so glad you went with a lighter colour on the shelf (I literally yelled NOOO when you discussed painting it black), I think it turned out really great!

Becky, you look really happy and together. Like someone who really does water her plants regularly and lives the life she has on Instagram. Goals. I wish I could have a Danny.

That FLW book was written by a neighbor of mine. I got one for my Dad as a gift, he was a big FLW fan, personalized autographed. My Dad loved it.

Fantastic results! I love that you found a paint colour that blended so well with the cane. My only recommendation for that piece is to add some cane cording along the cut edges so they're not quite so messy. But otherwise, you nailed it! Super cute result! Also, that book table is amazeballs! Can't wait to see the update when you seal it and add the glass. And I LOVE your solution to holding all the sheets of plywood together - genius! You can definitely add more favourites in the future!
As a side note: I totally want to find a copy of Tomorrow's House now. Thanks for sharing that with us - it is a super cool "relic"!

I know we shouldn't pick favorites when it comes to the Sorry girls, but I love Becky. Her vibe, style and just the way she works through something makes me so happy. While I soooooo wanted to see that shelf in black, I think it looks nice and that book stand/side table really is such an amazing piece.
