- Welcome back to the Surf Line! In part two of the series, we pick up the line back in Fullerton, following the tracks across most of Orange County to San Juan Capistrano. We'll see the usual Amtrak and Metrolink commuter trains as well as BNSF freight and the Union Pacific Costa Mesa local in between Anaheim and Santa Ana.

The most favorite thing about the Surfline is watching all of the water from the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
San Juan Capistrano station has to be one of the most beautiful train stations I’ve seen. It’s too bad there is not too many other towns that take the time to make their stations look even close to that!
All of the Surfline is really good! But the best part, in my opinion, is the stretch between Solona Beach and Del Mar right along the ocean
imo the parts north of la are much better
Live in the area so seeing this is so awesome 👏
Kewl video! I’m planning to railfan Fullerton in a few days!
Another great segment in the history lesson of SoCal's most important rail line. I always had an eye for the Santa Ana - Irvine section of track because of it's high speeds, though the hopeless romantic in me wishes they are able to get the trains to travel faster than 90mph, due to that area being such a straight shot with not too many grade crossings.
That clip at 16:24 just hit me with nostalgia of when I was a 5 year old kid watching Diesel Trains Galore
Oh wow! I had no idea that the first part of this series was even out until now, or even that you would be splitting it up! Awesome to see that this is finally done! Congratulations on finally getting these videos out Mike, I know you you've been working on them for quite a long time :)
Appreciate all the info about the old Santa Fe stations. I wanna see them all!
Thank you for this video the surfline is a great railroad between la and san diego again thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Mike, Awesome video of California railroading. Excellent filmed the local passenger, Amtrak and freight services. Very beautiful film locations and great landscapes with and without railway traffic. Thanks for showing and greetings from Germany👍👍🙋♂

Tustin is in a two-way to for my favorite spot on the Surfline along with Santa Fe Springs (Specifically Marquardt/Rosecrans Ave.).
Love the Surfline!

These shots are awesome!!!! This boost my mood entirely, especially the southern end of the OC sub, I am taking the Surfliner to SD in July, it'll be 5 years since my last time, so I'm looking forward to it!!!!!

COOL.GOOD 🎉🎉
Hi Mike! I’m heading to Tennessee and I like this video!
Just to let you know Mike, I always like to wave at a train coming by no matter what it is.
First off, Amtrak really needs to consider using the F125s. Second, metro link needs to swap out those K2 horns with K5LAs
Great stuff. However, the ATSF Anaheim depot was taken down in 1987, not 1978 as mentioned at 3:25
What f59phr 859 is back in service
When will you go to the Durango and Silverton and the Cumbres and Toltec scenic railroad
