I tried living in many different areas of Chiang Mai, but my favorite was Nimman area. It’s much easier to walk around, cleaner, quieter, and better nightlife with many restaurants open very late and classy bars. One Nimman often has nightly events and live bands as well. Nimman is not very “local” so maybe not ideal for tourists, but for DN it was best. As for your skin trouble, I suspect it’s the water…I noticed the water is dirtier than Bangkok. I recommend a filter for your shower.
I haven't tried living in Nimman yet, but I've visited several times for the cafes. I remember it being cleaner than other areas. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it a try when I move. I hadn't considered the water... I've been having stomach issues and my skin has been getting worse, so it could be because of the water. I'll buy a filter for my shower!
