Peter is my favorite Persian leader XP
lmao
Poor Cyrus :(
I believe he's actually Prussian
Good thing about the UBoot is it doesn’t require resources to build - while the regular sub needs oil, so you can get subs out way faster than everyone else.
thats true, the Uboat can be super effective in naval combat, but tbh it doesnt take much to beat the AI in naval combat
@@TheCivLifeR I love building a massive navy alot like the real world USA has, but honestly the AI is garbage there. Barbarians are really your only naval threat
@@marinewillis1202 I had a thought on those the other day. Imagine barbarian longboats with the coastal raid ability. Hooboy!
That blizzard joke was more s tier than Russia was before the April nerf
:D
They did my boy Peter dirty
Dude! Lol i just recently got the game afew weeks ago and ive been binge watching your vids like crazy also your humor gets me every single time u def deserve more subs😊👍🏽keep it up man!!!
Great series bro
appreciate it!!
Glad my favorite civ landed at #2. Gaul is so good...I would go into detail but you said enough. Good shit
Really good stuff, I'm a big fan of this more calm and analytic presentation in your videos. Great job, keep it up! :)
Glad you like them!
@@TheCivLifeR No problem! I'd love to see you make similar types of videos focusing on wonders, that'd be really cool.
Thanks for making a seemingly dull game so exciting. I might even play it again.
Hope you enjoy it!
I was prepared to incite a riot in case my boi Hammurabi didn't get 1st. You, sir, get to keep your head.
All jokes aside, pretty much agree with every placement in this series. Well done.
Never even thought about the Oppidum unlocking Man at Arms at Iron Working. Ha. Pretty neat.
its pretty busted
Lol the whisper "subscribe" killed me I subscribed
Just adding to the already stupid bonuses Babylon has: Your tech or civic era increases your chop/harvest/pillage yields. Getting modern era chop/harvest/pillage DURING classical/medieval era is just broken
oh my god I didnt even think of that how is this allowed
“I haven’t even talked about his other abilities, king of the ooberoons” 😂
Definitely underrating Freddy. He's probably the most consistent civ and can excel in most situations and map spawns
I agree, Freddie is crazy good, he requires good planning but when executed well, he is practically unstoppable. I think Peter is #1 Freddie #2 Babylon #3. The problem with Babylon is they don’t have production to benefit from having tech earlier, but maybe I play them wrong 😑
@@gieaudio8762 Pablums FTW.
Just finished my Germany game. On turn 90 I had 24 science per turn, 4 cities, and was just getting my Hansas out. 100 turns later I was 200 science above top science WITHOUT research labs, and my empire was so big it created its own gravitational field.
Did cause the apocalypse by fossil fuels but I left Earth before any of my cities got hit so were the meteors ever really there if they didn’t bother me?
lmaoo Germany can be almost OP with their hansas and extra district,
me coming to this video after getting a turn 207 science victory with 2.2k as peter and waiting to see him
peter is too good
@@TheCivLifeR Peter + Voidsingers is so good, like literally its too good I might just go for the same strategy but in stead go for a culture victory lol
Hammurabi is so OP, I dont even play anything else.
And so was the same in civ5...I still remember playing Nebuchadnezzar always in civ5
Babylon is always strong in the civ series
@@TheCivLifeR somebody at firaxis really loves Babylon, probably because they're like the definition of civilization
@@drskittleshd839 they got confused between the Sumerians and Babylonians...Sumerians had the first civilized society (Uruk), first writing script (cuneiform) , wheel (potter's wheel), city (Ur).
Also painting that place and its people in white and black shades of Babylonian /Assyrian/Persian is not correct.
Hammurabi was an Amorite and so were many Assyrian kings. Nebuchadnezzar was a Chaldean. There were Akkadian Kings of Babylon as well as Assyria and Sumer. There were the Elamites too. The Medes are often forgotten.
Babylon is remembered but and looked fondly due to Baghdad. The Great Library of the Abbasids was built upon the earlier library of Babylon and travellers sand praises of it... So common culture held a special place for Babylon after Hulagu burned Baghdad to the ground
@@caniblmolstr4503 Damn, how come you're so knowledgeable about middle eastern history? That's the kind of stuff they should teach at school imo, it's where most of us came from, what formed us, like real history of humans, except south American tho if I'm correct.
@@drskittleshd839 from school. Don't you learn about ancients civilisations at school ?
CivLifer I really do like your content, your butchery of the pronouciations is fantastic, your information for newer players like me is just so helpful for cutting that learning curve. I ask 1 thing, How much would it cost to upgrade your audio setup?.
Kind Regards
Glad you like them! I have a pretty good mic, I just talk too loud sometimes, it cost me 119?
Thecivlifer chooses all the military rush civs - what a surprise :)
ik it must have been quite a shock
UA-cam must love you if they get you this many ads on these videos! Not saying it like I’m upset, it’s 5 seconds for free content, just surprised a channel this size is so monetized! Those double daily uploads are paying off!
:D I have no idea how ads work, I just turned on a button and its there
@@TheCivLifeR and its unbelievable that you're monetized in the first place... with all that you've done to eduardo...
i love your content and i know it's probably to troll someone saying the same thing on comment section in another video, but i swear, next time i hear you say "nothing short of" ANYTHING... there's gonna be a bloodbath
lmao
You are the most Hammurabi enthusiast player next to me.
It is really insane what he can do in Vanilla.
I play at Online speed and I can get consistantly 3 Helicopters by the turn 60.
With Gathering Storm I wrote a little guide on how to make him niter undependent, and having him produce stronger units than bombards, faster and with more production.
Can I link it to you?
Anyway very nice video, I agree even for gallic at 2° place, it is insane the rush they can do it, tested and works like a charm
sure! And ya Babylon is nothing short of unstoppable

Here it is, and thanks you again for your videos 😎
not to mention gaul starting with a few extra era score because it has a unique unit that replaces the warrior
I don't agree with anything, but I'm glad someone else agrees how OP Babylon is now.
Edit: Meant to say everything not anything.
This comment makes no logical sense
Don't know if I'm missing something but early war seems a lot more efficient then going for a man at arms rush l. By the time I'm able to build them the enemy civs build cross bow men
if you beeline and get eurekas you should be able to upgrade 2-3 man at arms and go to work
You butcher the languages like you butcher your opponents! Completely agreed especially about the Gaul! Great vid series! Keep it up! :-)
lol Appreciate it!
@@TheCivLifeR hypaspistpistpistpist standing in the corner after you butchered their names:
MC Hammurabi: can't touch this.
lol
Happy my prediction for No# 1 was correct. I knew BABYLON was the most powerful/broken Civilization in the game.
Babylon is disgusting
I've played Simon Bolivar a couple times on immortal/deity and it's too easy. With 3 archers and 2 warriors you can start taking cities against an opponent with twice the military strength. The fact that promotion doesn't end a turn is way better than it looks. You get to steamroll the ai with damaged units, and then just get enough xp to promote and keep going. It works so well with archers it's unreal. So much momentum. Once you get a commandante general and a great general it's basically gg. I always end up with units with 4 promotions really early on.
In the playlist of the tier list, part 2 and 1 are the wrong way round
Maybe switch those back around?
ya probably
In my games, playing as Alexander is the safest way NOT to get forward settled by the AI. Could it be that the AI is programmed not to settle near Alexander until his special units are outdated and obsolete? I can hardly ever make good use of them.
I feel like AI is scared of Alexander because of his UU and maybe early military build up. The thing with alex is you should rush horsemen, go to war on horsemen, and then go hypaspist for when the AI builds wall. Waiting for both at the same time isn't going to work on higher difficulties
My friend only plays pacha and he puts the warp tunnels all over the map so his units can teleport
Is this primarily based on domination victory?
I primarily put faith in early domination
just finished owning Russia with Norway over land. I have barb clans and in this game it kept updating the unit available, usually more technically advanced than I had (ie Hypaspists in the classic era) so instead of using my money elsewhere I just bee-lined shipbuilding (ocean traversal) and found a barb camp with a swordsman replacement than I started buying these (no iron needed, funded mostly by sinbad) plus I was able to settle nearby and used the twins to get a few additional hypaspists and zombies. I than bee-lined berzerkers providing an upgrade path in the medieval era that will completely assert my domination (since they can now replace men-at-arms). Just saying that's a VERY viable plan you really need to try!
I did start near the volcano with the long assed name I forget some icelandic name. But it was in tundra :D still it gave me a bunch of early science and culture xD.
beelining berserkers and having swordsmen at the ready seems like an awesome idea Ill give it a try!
Heroes and Legends is OP. It shouldn't even count as deity. Like playing with Babylon.
@@jyutzler I think you mean iiwtw (if i want to win) lol. I'm working on the 20 zombies achievement than it's no more zombie mode! Since they 'fixed' the bug where barbs spawn all game it kinda fills the niche zombies had for me. I don't have time to escort all my trade routes with vampires just to make sure the random zombie doesn't pillage them.
I mean I'd be fine with zombies if they didn't pillage all my trade routes with no warning at all... it's a cool idea, like giving barb clans the ability to spawn vampires, a unit thazt gets stronger over time. But this is insane.
(I mean I'm at the point city states can barely defend zombie hordes with 40+ mutagen but... I hate to lose city states but barb clans replenish city states it's just a really cool cycle!)
I am surprised the Khmer didn't make the list river goddess pantheon and work ethics your holy sites get so OP with bonus faith food and production housing and amenities not to mention the bonus food and faith farms give next to acquduct and holy site and domreys are just insane they destroy walls and very tanky
khmer just missed out, their abilities are incredible
To be fair they all got there advantage and weakness (Tomyris doesn't scale well into the late game if there alot of ppl on the map But for sure she can kill ppl quickly)
they all have advantages for sure, Tomyris can rush 3 people with her ability and kurgans are strong now. She does fall off late if you dont take advantage early
One of my fav civs to play is probably Australia
Cleopatra gives me feelings.
Hammurabi is not strong. He has incredible snowball potential. But if something goes wrong, he's succ cause he has -50% science to hard discover tech. No quarry improvement? You can't go for musketmans. Unlucky with no iron in close range? Same. You spawned on 3-tile river and other are mountains, lakes or whatever another fresh water? Your palgum is useless. The only chance from there is to build great library... But we all know how hard is to build this on deity if you not rushing it.
You only need oil in the worst case scenario, but chances are you can dominate consistently without needing any strategic resources nor quarries
www.reddit.com/r/CivVI/comments/n6xydd/how_to_win_with_hammurabi_fast_and_clean/
@@SetteCroci the issue with that strategy is it's on online speed
Lol "OP-ness" 🍆 9:36
lmaoo I just got it
Lol OP ness
Germany, Russia and Japan top 3 for some reason no one ever brings up Japan like +1 adjacency bonus to every district and Faith and theatre districts plus Harbours built in half the time The factory gives you 1 extra production And +4 culture you will have every district +3 most + 4 Just build three districts decide the city centre all together
Yeah, Japan is stupidly OP and flexible, you can go pretty much any victory type with them.
Shame on you for not mentioning the Mit'a/Preserve synergy. Preserves don't grant production until Sanctuary tech, but give you good quantities of every other resource, and since mountains always count as Breathtaking you'll always get the full bonus leading to some crazy Mountain yields, especially combined with Terrace farms. Note that improving a mountain with the qhapaq nan means that you don't get the Preserve bonus on those tiles (much to my sadness).
Worth noting for Germany that U-Boats don't require a strategic resource, which means that you don't consume oil every turn if you spam them. Naval raiders aren't incredible, but it's definitely worth a mention if you spawn far away from oil.
Inca are now lot better, because you can boost tiles with Preserve district. You can get some sick tiles and if you rin those vampires and build castles next to them, oh boy...
Don't underestimate that new district "preserve" with some planing it can give your really strong tiles. They are obviously amazing with Kupe and Teddy as well.
Peter the Great of Persia!
I'm a little salty my main Matthias isn't on this video but my 2nd main Alexander is so ill give you a pass haha
lol if it makes you feel better I have Hungary at top 15

What is the best Civ for TSL Huge map?
Portugal is nice on any huge map
@@TheCivLifeR thanks
@@TheCivLifeR any other Civs you say are the best on TSL huge Earth Map
@@jacksongoodman6665 Russia, America, Brazil, Kongo, Mali, Canada is good to. Best is Brazil out of all these and Kongo, and then Russia, then America then Mali. Brazil’s spawn is insane with their ability, and they’re usually alone or only have one nearby Civ. Russia can claim all the tundra in the world in Europe and Asia and will be uncontested there unless Europe invaded them. America, Mali, and Kongo usually have plenty of space to expand and no neighbors at most 1 or two. You can basically set up a 12 city empire by turn 102 after you get 10 cities you win basically.
Never played Macedon because I hate the smug look on his face lol, guess I should try it out
I think you under-rate the Khmer and you favour agression. I almost never play aggressively hence have a different list.
Khmer + work ethic is probably totally crazy I need to check them. I won a deity game with Khmer before update and I went for domination with grandmaster chapel and their crazy faith and population were already good, now they became even stronger. But I have to disagree with early aggression strategy, on emperor+ if you want to win it’s practically best solution to take your neighbours, they often build wonders and districts, so you gain a lot, late game war is maybe easier but you’ll be denounced by everybody
Vietnam should be top 10 honestly but I respect your list.
:D
Vietnam never works out for me
Basil is really good no explanation needed just rush 🐴 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴 cavalry
Genghis, Byzantium and Inca should be ahead of Portugal. Especially since they're so dependent on coastal cities for trade.
ya but if they do get coast on archipelago they could be number 1, I thought putting them in between their extremes seemed just right
@@TheCivLifeR yea good point
How does khmer not make top 10? Easy +4 to 6 holy sites doubling to 8 to 12 early outputting food faith and production with work ethic. And all the tourism faith and culture with their special buildings this civ is truly OP.
This was before April, they were top 15 at least in my new ranking
Peter is my favourite civ to play as - he is my husband
as a reference, napoleon got bitchslaped by rusian winter harder than Hitler

No Jayavaraman with his food / faith adjacency holy sites?

Korea right? Im bad at names man
Korea was not in Civ 1. I don't remember her in 2 or 3 either.

Worst top 10 again man, shocking Scythia
scythia horsemen rush is unstoppable if done right
I really love your videos but I wish you would not say things like "you cannot lose if you play as X" or "you must be an inbred if you cannot win with civ Y". Not everyone is such a skilled player like you, and so much depends on the starting position. In my games, my start very often looks like this: Surrounded by tundra or desert with zero production, getting forward settled by at least two AIs and getting early war declarations before I have enough military to defend myself properly. You deity youtubers would not make a video series with such a (usual) bad start, which I find completely fine. But please have some compassion with us normal, mortal, weak players.
its mainly just satire and clickbait, just my pumping up the situation. We have all struggled before with this game and there are some starts that are impossible to win with
