After seeing that superb collection of random wires I’m not convinced the installation was correct.
have been running these for years and just ordered a bigger one for my car. have been flawless for me and even using their supplied wiring and control box, they have held up to some heavy work and longer than recommended winching times. it say you got unlucky or you did something wrong.
This is why they print instructions on things like " remove from packaging before eating"
I'd sure like to see where that black wire went too! I like mine, works great. I think you have it hooked up wrong.
I have the same one it works perfectly fine it didn't come with no sketchy shit like yours You have to have a hooked up wrong
You have it hooked up backwards on the control box. Mine has been on my machine for 2 years. Not one single issue. Yea maybe some (cheesy) connection ends but what man can’t fix that.
Not sure if it's a lower end model thing, but the X Bull 13000lbs winch I have. Has heat shrink, and plastic covers at the end of all connections.
so the winch is unhooked from the wiring,, and your touching the battery creating sparks.... its obviously NOT the winch that is the problem. its the cheap chinese junk relay box, try using the old relay setup instead. also its possible its just hooked up backwards.
the spool is not supposed to lock 'right away'. the gears have to line back up to their splines.
There is a dumpster fire alright.. but I doubt the winch caused it.
Lol man your wiring is the problem. The winch isnt even connected. Think you need check your wiring as your likely to burn the next one.

The ground wire that you say shorted out but yet was not hooked to the winch
It was installed probably I work for a custom shop and do thousands of them as you can see if you can it was taken back apart for repairs

Bro the winch isn’t even connected lol how is the winch junk? I’ve got the same winch and works great. Wires are cheesie like you said but I used my own wires. Only issue I’ve had is control box doesn’t last long under water or mud. Got maybe a year out of my first box and on the second one now. That’s to be expected though when it stays under mud or water most of the time.
you turn out buying a new one? Or did you figure it out? Mines doing the same thing

Kinda weird do you think they just labelled the positive and the negative wrong?
good question I checked that but no that wasn't the case now I've gotten another one thinking maybe this was a fluke just as bad as the first one just complete junk
