I remember this song coming out second semester my junior year of high I was 17 at the time. now I’m 30 turning 31 in March next year lol crazy how time flies by so fast. I was in middle school during that time. Here I am a 24 year old listening to this song again and again, it still hits the same when I first heard it years years ago. Life was genuinely good when this song came out. I was in fifth grade preparing to graduate and head to middle school, I was a carefree child with no responsibilities besides going to school and getting good grades, my grandpa was alive and he’d pick my sibling and I up in his pearl white Chrysler and we’d go fishing, and the kids that lived in my neighborhood actually went outside to play instead of staying indoors all day. Now I’m a high school graduate (class of ‘19) with responsibilities in the middle of a deadly global pandemic and pure ignorance that surrounds the world. I’m genuinely blessed to still be here but I wish I can hop into a time machine and just go back to these days.
