In this occasion may i ask. Does the King drink first or whoever's being called out drinks first ?
This quite similar to Fijian Culture where yaqona (kava) is being prepared by chiefly Family (Males only) towards the people who contributed to the Function.

king always drinks first, anciently however for the tui tonga's kava he would drink 2nd to ensure that the kava was safe to drink
