literally listening to the violin in-game was something absolutely phenomenal. it was like "wait is the sound bugged? cause that sounds cool as" it didnt feel like someone could mash together the violin that well. i know valve is never going to make a game ever again so i cherished it

I don't think they did their best at all, this seems very much like a temporary prison since they just grabbed a piece of a building, built the vault around it and used vortigaunts to trap G-man.
The whole problem is that Advisors always underestimate humans, it's the whole reason humans succeed.
They were probably going to send g-man as a prisoner to the actual Universal Union, then he would be done for.

Something that I couldn't understand is how did they manage to imprison him in the first place?
They need all of this to hold him, but how did they manage to build it around him, without him stopping them in the first place?
Did he let them? I feel like even if you had the parts ready before approaching him, it would still take over an hour to assemble and power up. Within that time, he could escape.

he could have been tricked into it. Teleported to the prison which prevents him teleporting out as soon as it's activated
