I don't have at physical pin to move over with that small board, just some adhesive that is too worn to reuse. Any ideas on what I could do as a workaround? Take a small chunk of adhesive from the old back plate?

It seals without glue?
This back panel had pre installed glue on the edges, not all of the aftermarket panels do
Amazon sells T7000 adhesive, the waterproof stuff works better

There is a volume bottom on the side of your phone , ask someone to show you how to use them 😂
