She was actually the world record holder before Flojo with 10.76 secs. perfect technique doesn't always correlate to World Records and winning races. Flojo was almost like a cartoon, stunning to watch. However the sprint models from the eighties were far more experimental than those of today. Technique has come a long way.

Exceptional technique. The best ever from any woman sprinter. People accuse her of drug use, but Johnson's 9.79 has long been surpassed. Even with much faster tracks and improved training techniques, nobody has come remotely close ot Flo Jo. She was tested extensively, but we will sadly never know.

She retired right after the Olympics even though she was injury free which has left ppl a bit suspicious until this day. Doping or not I still agree that her form should definitely be studied
Tope Oyerinde Donovan bailey bailey had a somewhat similar style, hamstring dominant. If you try to run like that the hs really works and the glutes have to be fired up, superstrong. Well done to team flo for that technique regardless.
All the comments about wind... But Flo Jo's 200m record is just as far ahead of everyone else as her 100m record. How can that be explained? I think we all know what was really producing these times...
There was a following wind in that 200m final but her time is still under 21.5s so you can't really dispute her prowess in the 200m. The 100m world record, on the other hand, it accepted that the wind gauge wasn't reading accurately since the wind gauge at the long jump track (which was parallel to the race track) read 5m/s.

It’s clear in her videos that she’s able to pull away after the 60m mark and seems to be getting faster while the rest are struggling. Notice the bounce in her strides. You can’t get that if you’re tensed.
