If you can get to the plate, you can see what year it was last registered. That would be a good way to know how long it has been there.
Also, there are wrecking companies that could get that out. Probably fairly easy for them.
Those guys are really good at what they do.
    Great find!!

Love me a K5 Blazer, especially the earlier ones! Yeah, it's a 68-72. I had an 88 K5, loved it, but had to sell it to make a house payment or two years ago when my wife was out of work for a couple months. She said she would buy me another one, but as nice as my 88 was, she'd be paying A LOT for it now. Probably not gonna happen. I do have a really nice all original California truck 71 C10 2WD longbed with the 350 and 4 speed manual. She only has 89k original miles. What a sweet little truck! It's my hauler and dump run truck, and I wouldn't trade her for anything new! Oh, by the way, you were VERY close to me on this video! I live on the 371 between Anza and Aguanga.

Yup! That sure sounds like a rattlesnake! Yikes 😳 dude! You’re nuts sticking your hands like that in there! Yeah! I think that’s a 1969 k5 blazer! What a find! Those are becoming very collectible and expensive! Even in bad condition they bring big money. That one still in great condition for being exposed to the elements! Dude be careful where there’s one there’s more rattlesnake’s! And the baby ones are more lethal than their adult counterparts. That looks like either a 3 speed manual on the column or automatic! Or it could have been a 4 speed manual too! But I see a shift linkage on the steering column, so it looks to me like either the 3 speed manual or 3 speed automatic. That hubcap is from what looks like a late 40s to 50s Plymouth! Wow nice! It’s a keeper! That’s a VW beetle! Probably 60s or 70s. Great finds brother!👌😎👍be safe out there man!

without the hood and grille, I couldn't give an exact year, but it is definetly between 1967 and 1972 it went to square body in 1973 (the chevy) also, it would have been automatic with 4x4 the hole in the floor was to engage the four wheel drive

They were cool. I remember when they were new. I've driven them, rode in them and worked on them. You don't see many of them anymore. Back in those days, we never dreamed that our cars and trucks would be so sought after in the future. I wish I would have kept every car I ever had, they would be worth a fortune now days. I do still have one. I have a 1969 Chevelle that I restored a number of years ago, and I have an old 77 Chevy square body one ton truck with the granny 4 speed trans. I been driving that old thing for what seems like forever lol. @@reverserockettv007

The weird branched shrubs are Ocotillo (oak-oh-tee-yoh). The three other plants are Agave or Century Plants. They are a succulent and not a cactus. Barn Owls will often roost and nest in rock wall crags and embankments. I'm hearing many Black-chinned Sparrows in your videos as well. Hello from Omaha.

I wanna say 70-72 ? Maybe a 71 based on the door handle design on the inside of the driver side. 71s had to piece door panels while 72s had 1 piece. Plus front disc brakes being a first for both 71 c10s and blazers.
Its definitely a chevy since its only got 1 headlight on each side a Jimmy of that same year (69-72) had dual headlights on each side.
Definitely had to be there awhile! Probably before the value of the old trucks started going up and it probably cost more then the truck was worth to remove it. Just the same im surprised someone hasn't taken it. Its a good find probably make a killer off-road rebuild!

3 Pieces of advice. #1 buy yourself an "unbreakable auto lock" to keep your truck from being stolen, "steering wheel clubs" are absolutely worthless. #2 buy a couple of bright orange and red triangular dune buggy antenna flags and attach them to your walking stick so in case of emergency 7:27 you can be spotted and cars on the highway can see you better. #3 27:29 rattlesnakes like to also hide under plywood, cars, bushes and rocks so it also might be a good idea to attach a bell or 2 to your walking stick to make them rattle.

That K5 looks like junk, unfortunately. It looks like someone made the floor panels out of wood, probably badly rusted. And with the A-pillar cut off like that, man....what a shame. Are you sure it was a wreck, and not someone 4-wheeling their beater Blazer, got stuck, maybe broke, and they just left it there? That front axle is a Dana 44, probably had a 12-bolt GM Corporate rear end. If that is the front axle that came with that K5 stock, it will be a 71 or 72 model, as the first year for disc brakes was 71, IIRC. And 73 was the body change from the Action Line to the Square Body. It has a column shifter, but looks like a later model steering wheel. I am guessing it was an automatic transmission truck stock, since the floor would have two holes if it was a manual, one for the trans shifter and one for the transfer case lever.

Someone could rebuild that one, and probably would as insanely desirable as they have become now, I have seen much worse restorations to start with.

It would go like this with the VIN for the win: K for 4WD, S for six cylinder equipped or E for V8 gas equipped, 1 for 1/2 ton rated, 8 for Blazer, then 9 for 1969 model year (0 is 1970, 1 is 1971, 2 is 1972), possible F for Flint, MI assembly (among other choices) and the rest is the production sequence.

I've done all sorts of towing, repo, and recovery for years. To get that out would cost you approximately $300/hr.
I've found stuff like this. What I do is take that VIN and plate # and have the DMV + CHP check it out for theft or any crimes. Officers tend to get real "happy" about finding a stash of stolen cars or old crime clues. All you need is them to tell you if the car's stolen or not so you could register it.
      Also...
Make friends with a tow guy or company owner. They may go see it with you and tell you nah nah nah I can't do it or whatever and they'll snake it out from under you.
And... if you get that "free" you absolutely cannot beat the price, but as the son of a lifelong bodyman and car builder.... even with you buying everything on the cheap through mail order or swap meet scrounging, that truck is going to cost you some coin to restore even if you do it yourself.
This is all pure and sincere advice.
