The right-wing Rassemblement National (RN) emerged as the strongest force in the first round of the early parliamentary elections in France. According to the official final results published on Monday, Marine Le Pen's party and its allies received 33 percent of the vote. The left-wing alliance came in second with 28 percent. The center camp of President Emmanuel Macron, who did not stand for election himself, received 20 percent in Sunday's vote, according to the Interior Ministry in Paris. The exact distribution of seats in the National Assembly will not be decided until after the second round of voting next Sunday.
