I can buy a new Audi A5 for the price of this here in Germany. Sure the Gr Yaris looks like a really cool an fun little car but Toyota is nuts for thinking that's the worth of it. They just bumped up the sticker price by 12K without giving anything worth that money. Greed plain and simple.
The car is hand built in Japan on the same production line as the Lexus LFA & takes much longer to manufacture than the regular Yaris. The Mk1 is a WRC homologation special and this MK2 version is built in very small numbers. Look at it this way, 1: Toyota lost a significant amount of money on every one of the Mk1’s they sold & the price of the Mk2 is where they should have priced the car at. 2: After 5 years that Audi A5 will be worth next to nothing but the Mk2 GRY will be worth close to if not more than its original buy price (and will still have 5 years left on its manufacturers warranty). Declaring an interest, I’ve owned a Mk1 GRY for 3 years and it’s still utterly sensational. Anyone who gets an allocation for this new model will have made a wise financial decision.

This is more special than an A5 and if you have a Mk1 GR like i do the price increase is a good thing.
