Not all Filipinos live in the slums, there are many different places in the Philippines that don't live like you see in MANILA like me I'm not from Manila, We have a proper lifestyle not only mine but most of us are not poor but just average .MANILA IS MOSTLY THE CENTER OF PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE SLUMS. you know why?
Slums are generally the only type of settlement affordable and accessible to the poor in cities, where competition for land and profits is intense. There are two main reasons why slums develop: population growth and governance.
Slums and informal settlements exist in the Philippines due to rapid urbanization, lack of livelihood options, and problems with housing and basic social facilities and services. These informal communities are often home to impoverished populations who are the most vulnerable and marginalized in urban areas.
The Tondo is the largest slum of the country's capital. It has a high poverty incidence due to lack of regular and decent jobs while social services like health and education are inaccessible. Many of the residents depend on scavenging and working at the nearby seaport where they earn very meager income.
But this is the last time I went to MANILA last week, I noticed a lot of changes like the security has tightened, Manila is under construction, renovation cleaning operation, there are many new buildings, sky roads and many have been removed or demolished etc.
They are gradually being removed like slums in Manila. IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME BUT IT HAS STARTED. We have a difficult test ahead of us right now AND THAT IS ONLY PART OF THE CHANGE AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHILIPPINES COUNTRY.
