Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean Scarabeo is garbage like you are trying to present it. I got 300s, and with 100$ upgrade you'll blow T-MAX from the line up to 60 kp/h. You forgot to mention that it is most comfortable scooter out there. It has leg heating, big trunk. You can fit 2 full face helmets under the seat. Brakes are amazing, you just have to press lever like a man. For christ sake 500cc version has dual brake disc at front, and you say it's not stopping, and mine with single disc is stopping like crazy. Also you forgot to mention fuel consumption which is lowest among bunch. And also 500cc master engine can blow away other bikes with good variomat. I give u thumb down, because of incorrect information given to people.

@sammysark It's not always about track time and corner carving. There's also a practical side to cycling. Scooters are practical, fuel efficient, and easy to ride around town. It's definitely a growing market.

good videos. for anyone who knows anything, scooters can be just as much fun if not more fun than motorcycles around town... plus 100+ mpg always helps

As of 2011, more than half the population in the US lives in cities, not suburbs or rural areas. Scooters are more practical than traditional motorcycles.

I recently purchased a 2007 500IE, and this is my review after 600 miles of in city, rural, and interstate driving on it, 1st you have dual disc in the front an if you use both brakes at the same time like you're suppose to, at least here in Ga., according to the DMV test, you've got plenty of stopping power, even in an emergency, I haven't noticed the issue that guy had in the twists either, so Im not dissing these guys, but mine seems plenty fast, an it more than keeps up with interstate traffic, ive had mine up to 90++ an im 344 lbs. so im not seeing any issues thus far, it's great on gas, it's cheaper on insurance, tires, brake pads, parts verses a motorcycle, U motorcycle guys keep on riding your choice, leave us Scooter folks alone, lol!!! for me at my age 54, health issues, back, neck & shoulder issues, as well as the bottom line upkeep an total yearly cost of the 2, I went with the 500, I feel if I had bought a motorcycle I might have been good 1 or 2 stops but on & off all day, I just didn't see me being able to easily put my leg over the gas tank again and again, the only downside ive read is that there is a possible fuel pump issue and a voltage regulator issue, my personal downside is that im on the westside of Atlanta, and if something really major comes up, the closet dealership to me is Savanah Ga, 248 miles there, then back a trip you'd need to make twice, because more than likely it'd be a drop an pick up, other than that there is a lot to like about this Bike, and even with 10,000 plus miles on'um they still re sale at around 2,400, so by no means is this a crap bike, the bluebook value is almost 2,800, I really lucked up an got mine through a dealership with virtually no miles on it from an elderly gentleman that road it in his RV an when he an his wife would set up camp, he'd use it to go in town to get groceries, everyone has an opinion, but at the end of the day it's personal choice and weighing in all aspects of the purchase and other variables/issues as to which best suits you and your needs, for me the bottom line being on disability it was by far the lowest cost to have and afford my own transportation and to have some feeling of independence again, im not sure had mine been around the 10,000 mark would I have felt the same as I do with this purchase, virtually no miles tho, I got mine for a steal,lol... that's my 2 cents on it anyways... D~ Safe Riding All...

I've ridden a few thousand miles on my 2006 Aprilia Scarabeo. It's been fun to ride and fairly simple to work on, with only one minor incident to date. As far as I'm concerned, the reviews in this vid absolutely fail to get what these scooters are about.

@sammysark what part of (motor)cycle are you misunderstanding? a shed load of people use scooters.
From Wikipedia: There are around 200 million motorcycles (including mopeds, motor scooters and other powered two and three-wheelers) in use worldwide,[6]

My dear "testriders". People got this Scarabeo for daily driver.Go to the shop, cruising in the city, park in the smallest place...etc...
The other scooters what you guys showed.....they nice but those are not scooters. With this , you can go to the mall, buy things, all you need is to open the seat, or take a topcase with you.
Try that with the T-Max.This is an old-school scooter, not a touring bike, not a superbike.
I have at home a 400 ccm Scara, .Next to the GSX1400.
    Perfect universal machine.
Dear Joseph Augustin: LEARN TO BRAKE...
If you can't swim, do not point to the water.Scara have great brakes, learn to use them.....
Scooter means....practical machine with a reasonable price...And spare parts are aviable as well in a good price......try that with the other "bikes"
And Justin......get down from the tall horse.......

Don't Listen to these Guys there Bias when it comes to Scooters. They UnFairly Compare them to Motorcycles, always finding a reason to Pick them apart. It seems the only Scooter they will Acknowledge is the Vespa, as if the rest aren't Worthy of Being Called Scooters .
Enough of Me Ranting . Its one Main Fundamental thing these Reviewers Fail to Realize, Scooters are in fact Motorcycles, "TWO WHEELS & a MOTOR" some 3 its Simply a Different kind of Beast . Two Wheels & a Moto is where most of the Similaritys stop .
Im a True Scooterist at Heart. ScooterLab.Uk could have done this Review Proper Justice.

OK Back on here after putting 5000km on my Scabby 500. I love it. The only thing it could do with is slightly more padding on the seat. On this scooter I give many motorcyclists who aren't expecting it, an education in scootering. This thing is not a sports bike, but unless you know what you are doing you wont get away. It handles very well, has dynamite brakes, and pretty good power for a 500 single. These reviews are short term biased nonsense and are not to be believed. I would challenge any of these morons to a point to point race and I would win everything except drag races because I am big and heavy. Get your hands on one, make sure the tyre pressures are right and go for it. You will be pleasantly surprised.
BTW, I fucking hate reviewers who are this useless and have no idea what they are talking about.

Well, it's cheap second hand but I seriously do not like the design implementations that cause "jerky motion" while making speedy corners, obviously a design flaw every other 12 yo can reason that.

If you get a scooter you want it to look like a freakin scooter, not these other "scooters" that look like motorcycles with a big hole in the middle. Theyre not real scooters and theyre not motorcycles, theyre just weird.

If your break pads are fucked then you just replace them. Don't point them out as a design flaw. One of the worst things you can do is review a vehicle that needs mechanical repairs and try to say the engineers got it wrong. Fair enough lotsa fools out there will believe you but...
