Hi Joshua, The only thing I can offer is to lean away from the edge and go lightly with your mallet strike so that the impression isn’t deeper, or more pronounced, than the rest of the design. It’s not much of an answer but that’s a small tool and it doesn’t give you much room to work. You could also add a border stamp to the edge.
Be careful with the tri-weave basket weave stamp. Chuck doesn't show how using it on, let's say a knife sheath or a belt, how it works. It works great IF you don't get off the pattern it makes. But if you do drift off just make a new start just like you would with a regular basket weave stamp. It will look better than trying to pound your last crooked stamp straight.
