When I hear this song I tend to think they're talking about, not simply a literal child, but someone who has the heart of a child: Submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, charity, faithful, and willing to submit to everything God asks of them :)
As a teacher in the Church, I learned the joys of the Holy Spirit through this particular song...sung by the Sunbeams and Valiant girls whom I kno are so blessed as their personal witness

We sang this version of this song in ward choir this Sunday. It's such a beautiful contrast to have the men sing the upper part and the women sing the lower one for the combined verse. It's a really powerful "surprise", almost. I really felt the Spirit strongly while singing this part. We're all children at heart, and we're all children of God. And prayer is so important to build a strong relationship with our Father in Heaven.
I was serving in primary as 2 Counselor I sat in the middle of our beautiful little children as the pianist play the conductor started conducting and little children started singing it only took a minute wen little ones started singing I myself didn't sing at all I was too busy pouring my eyes I couldn't hold back my tears I was so lifted by our littleones singing this beautiful song I thought angels were gathering around the children, never ever I forget this beautiful experience ❤ love our beautiful primary children thanku tabernacle choir , love you all
