The festival has completely metamorphosed over the years from its humble beginnings but I'm so glad to be part of it in the healing field, part of the green fields and wouldn't miss it for the world, the hardest part of the whole experience to grasp is that it only goes for 5 days for the public. Many friends love the experience of the festival before it opens and we describe it as a festival within a festival within a festival. Saddening that the rabbit hole has gone now but hope it's returned by popular demand. Thank you Michael and Emily for an amazing festival again. Love from Trow Vegas
It looked like one of the biggest crowd I've ever seen at Glasto! He rode the zeitgeist pretty hard for a good few years in the late 90s...i bet it rocked
When the cashpoint turned up and another fence was built a lot of us who worked there knew the corporate takeover was in motion. BBC was the end, now it is the "establishmeht" festival, money, money, money!
Yeah, Mark Radcliffe used to be very good. I don't know who the guy with the bright red dyed hair that was hosting it this year is but he wasn't the best!
I remember going to Glastonbury in 1971 then 77 & 79 .Nothing flash about it back then but at least it was for the fans . Now it’s more a corporate event .
Not being horrible bud, but you won't... The tickets sell out on the day that the festival opens on the previous year.... So 2023 festival has already sold out.
@@nigelbevan8449 That's just wrong, tickets usually go on sale in October the year before, and you just need to register before hand. Though, they do sell out pretty quick anyways.

I always liked the red bus channel 4 coverage best. It was when C4 were still edgy and I think Keith Allen was the host? It was instantly sanitised when the Beeb got its hands on it Does good coverage but as has finally been picked upon, the Jo W insipid band praise and "glasto moment" has become an awful beige cliche.
Mark Radcliffe and Laruen L superb... Edith is feckin awful... when your vocab can't get past "fantastic " to describe anything it's time to hit sky arts...
Could not agree with you more bud.... Personally I think Mark Radcliffe is the best person presenting, his music knowledge is really vast..... But alas, I think that Glastonbury has had it's day now... Perhaps I'm just getting old...

The BBC have done a fantastic job of covering Glastonbury for the last 20 years. Their Glasto coverage alone is worth the license fee. Bravo BBC!

Keith Allen too.
Imagine highlighting 2007 and not mentioning Arctic Monkeys

literally one of my favourite glasto sets
Wonder what happened to Boris from Boris & Billy? 🤔
Imagine going to Glastonbury to see Robbie Williams
It was brilliant - I had been living abroad and didn’t realise the whole country had learnt the words to Angels.

I didn’t but I did see him and didn’t get all the fuss?
First broadcast by Channel 4 in 1994 actually.
you might want to edit out the tim westwood bit.
From “cashpoint culture” to the CBDC ,
and just in a blink of an eye (and a few bands for “entertainment”), your freedom is gone forever.
