      My advice to everyone is that saving is great but investment is the key to be successful imagine investing $15,000 and received $472,700.

      Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,0 ftdebt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!

    I just paid off over $30k of debt off in 6 months. It stressed me out and kept me up at night but I’m telling you, after paying it all off I feel good going into a new year able to have a positive net worth for once. If I could do it, so could you!

    I consider myself a Ramsey follower even though my emergency fund is 8,000, I meet the 401k match while paying down debt, and avalanche instead of snowball my debt. I feel Dave approved because if he knew me personally I feel he would approve. I have several advanced degrees in math and statistics. So avalanche gives me much more satisfaction and motivation than snowball. I love Dave and his crew that have helped me go from -550k to +500k net worth in 6 years!

    I will be 100% debt free no later than April 17, 2025.
    Would have been sooner but I am going to start taking advantage of my company's 401k 1/1/25 as I was hired in two weeks too late to start during the July '24 sign up period.

    What's the percentage amount taken out from my take-home pay. I'm already doing 15% towards savings.
    I had 3 debts up until last week, and I paid off my Kohls card. I'm left with only two left ($450 credit card) and $350 loan.
    Is there a set percentage for debit pay-off I should use? I know to take my $29 minimum payment from kohls and put that in to my next lowest to attack.
    Do I need to put in more money? Cause only paying $50 doesn't seem right as far as attacking a loan. Is that aggressive enough? Thanks for any help and answers.

      How much is the interest on your cc? If your interest is higher than 12% than your're losing money. If your interest is 22% you are losing 10%.

    • @pix2.0
      @pix2.0 11 днів тому

      @mjones1122 so yes for i should settle them and get them out of the way? Retirement rate 8%, but that'll be money not making money but at least it won't be paying the high interest. Your thoughts?

  • @reviewsbygen5591
    @reviewsbygen5591 11 днів тому +4

    We’re debt free but I’m not happy. I’m not happy that I feel like I can’t experience things. We still don’t have enough for me to be able to work (daycare is more than my teacher income), we still can’t travel. Yes I can wait to travel until I’m 65, but what if I get sick… all the kids in my kids class are going to Disney World while we go to the Wally World… the moms have Uggs and Lululemon leggings and I’m here in my $29 sketchers and thrifted leggings

      @ I do but sometimes it hurts when my kids are disappointed again when they hear our non vacation plans. Especially yesterday my son actually teared up because he doesn’t want to be bored again. All his friends are usually gone.

    • @evnd1806
      @evnd1806 11 днів тому +4

      I'm 40yr old and you know what we got for being bored? More chores or tasks to do around the farm, you have no idea how many "toys" i had that were sticks, if my daughter's tell me they are bored then i tell them to find a project to do or get outside and find something to do. Our society is so lazy and whinny. Go ahead and sink yourself in debt so you can have the things you want and be happy now but don't complain later.

      Comparison is the thief of joy. Stop looking at what other people are doing and be thankful for your life. Do a staycation. Have frequent family board game nights. Buy popcorn kernels and make a special family movie night. It's winter, so make paper snowflakes and hang them from your ceiling (a huge thing of coffee filters is still rather cheap). Etc, etc, etc. Don't look out, look within and find your joy.

      @@evnd1806 ironically I’m 39 so close to 40. My kids find things to do but when all their friends are gone, that’s when they’re bored. I’m not whiney at all but there is such a thing as being unhappy. I hate where we are stationed now as a military family. I’m very alone and isolated.

    One of the things that I heard when trying to start saving is to treat it like a debt. Any extra you get regardless of amount goes into the savings. The same way you would use it to put onto your debt. If you look at it and treat it like a debt you get into the mindset of not just the regular amount you might put in but doing the side hustles to get it to build faster.

    Got it
    Totally the “fastest way to pay debt in 2025”
