They did it on Mythbusters, with a piece of paper that was like 170' x 220', and even than going past 7 was not easy, but they got it to 11 folds using a steamroller and a forklift.

You can definitely fold a piece of paper more than seven times it just has to be ridiculously big. Although you can easily do it with a full roll of toilet paper really easily. Because you know how long those things are.
