What Are The Lines On My Trimmer?

- It's one of my most-asked questions, "What are the lines on your trimmer?" In this video I'll answer that question! I created the lines on my trimmer to make it quick and easy to cut card bases, card fronts, and different sizes of card mats. By using the lines which are color-coded, I don't even have to look at measurements, I just have to line up with the correct line on my trimmer. If you struggle with measurements or cutting card frames and mats, this video is for you!

Thank you! I think this is genius. Companies should manufacture this way.
I still struggle with measuring. This WILL help.
I like this idea, would be a great help
Just marked mine. Thank you!
Awesome, you're welcome!
So great wish I had that video years ago thank you 🇨🇦❤️
You're welcome!
I have a dumb question…. I haven’t removed the protective film from my trimmer, even though I’ve had it since this newer version was released. Should I remove it before marking the lines? Part of me thinks I should just keep it on, but then if the film ever starts peeling… I’d lose the drawn lines! Maybe I don’t even need an answer since it’s more of a personal choice. (My 2016 Ford Escape still has the protective film on the various things on the dashboard.)
Ps. This is such an amazing concept to draw the lines! I know I’ve had other trimmers that have some of these sizes marked out, but with the same black color as the other lines. Color-coding works better with my brain.
you can buy 'highlighter tape' in many colors rather than the pens. I am a quilter and use Omnigrid GLOW-LINE TAPE which i use on plastic rulers when cutting..The omnigrid is 1/4" wide thanks for the tips!
Clever❣️
I'm glad it's helpful!
I'm wondering if you could message me the instructions how to do this as for some reason it says the page can't be found thank you
Hi Sharon, they should be posted now. Sorry about that!
*Hello Anna, I loved this video!!! I was wondering if you had a different trimmer if you wanted to make a project and not cards? Only asking b/c it doesn't look like you can see your numbers well from having the colored lines. Thank you for sharing, and for your time!! Linda (Swer-Zin-Skee) From NJ. (✿◠‿◠)* 😀💜😇🌷
Do you have a PDF for this?
Hey Anna, I have been following for a little while and love the markings on your trimmer. So I've been on the hunt for oil based paint markers and wanted to share I found a set of 5 Sharpie brand markers at Home Depot. for . . . . $4.00! Can't wait to get started on adding lines to my SU trimmer. Thanks so much. Terry in WI.
❤ You have saved me SO MUCH TIME! My memory is not always right and must write it down. As if I don't have enough paper on my table. Blessings
This is such a great idea! This will give me the confirmation I am on the right line. I love your tip about cutting 'between the lines' to get the smaller borders. Thank you.
Awesome tip. Definitely will make card making fast, once you get past the “learning curve”!
I'm glad this is helpful!
Love this would be great printed on a cover acetate sheet to stick on top of ruler!
thank you. I have seen these lines on trimmers and it would always confuse me. This was very helpful..
I had a few lines to help me identify only basic messages for my card stock. Your idea is far more helpful not to mention faster with no chances of evet rubbing off. Thank you so much! Measuring is intidimating to mebut more so for " students
"
