They are often found together with Ringnecks, many a time fighting over breeding holes. Always a great spectacle. A Madagascar, on appelle ces oiseaux les Martin. Ils viennent d'Inde. J'aime beaucoup tous les oiseaux, petits ou grands, certains pour leur chant, d'autres pour leurs vols en couple ou ceux qui traversent ma terrasse à toute vitesse, ceux qui nichent sur mon château d'eau, ceux qui ne viennent qu'une courte saison ... Mais les Martin, on ne les aime pas : ils se battent avec des cris aigus, ils volent le nid des autres, ils nichent sur nos toits entre la tôle et le vondro, font du bruit, nous réveillent, ils n'ont peur de rien et ne dorment pas comme les autres oiseaux une fois le soleil couché, ils chahutent et se battent dans les arbres en faisant des bruits désagréables... ils ont été importés d'Inde pour manger les criquets des rizières mais ils n'ont pas mangé les criquets et ont proliféré !!
Their behavior reminds me of Cedar Waxwings in North America in the winter. Flocks sit in tops of trees and they call (very high pitch however). I've been watching a lot of Cedar Waxwings lately. 😂
Very imaginable. This is one of the most common birds in India, especially in towns and villages. I had to do my best to film it in a natural environment.
@@Birdfun They gather in flocks at certain points in the evenings to spend the night together and again in the mornings, when they disperse to their various foraging grounds. i have spent many years in an ashram at a small village, where hundreds of Mynas came in to spend the night huddling together in some trees. Their conversations went on all night long, making it very hard to sleep. They love human company!
Here in Israel Myna is an invasive specie that causes a lot of trouble, e.g., taking over other hole nesting species their nests, so a number of other species are declining in numbers; I can observe it outside my own window.
