There have been some serious changes in the world and who I am since I last heard the song. Loss of many family members and friends, 2 suicide attempts, sexual assault, and my unplanned pregnancy had to be terminated yesterday, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Long story short, lots of heartbreak. Listening to this again made me think of my younger 13 year old self and who I was back then. Don’t know where that simple thing went. Just made me sad and nostalgic. Kacey’s voice always hits deeply different.

I am not all into country music but tonight I saw her on Austin City Limits. I was instantly hooked. A beautiful voice and a batch of well written songs. I have a feeling that we'll be hearing a lot more about her.
